Lacks a bit of booming bass compared to my much older Beats Pro (before the apple merge). Noise cancelling is good, the dynamic mode leaves some room for improvement. Overall great set, nice and light on the head too. I'd say theyre $100 overpriced, given some of my $100-200 headphones are pretty close in terms of sound quality alone.

Incredible sound

Having had multiple pairs of these I would recommend the six’s because they seem to have a better build quality.

Why don’t they fold?

It doesn’t fold so the carrying case is large. I didn’t set it up, went back and upgraded to the 6.

Another fine Sony headphone

The XM5 is a significant upgrade with a more refined and neutral sound. However, I don't notice much difference in the quality of noise cancelling, compared to the XM4. The XM5 is comfortable and easy to setup and use.
