Exactly what I wanted

My criteria for selecting headphones was Quality of sound (Crisp highs and powerful clean bass) Comfort and Noise canceling. The XM5 delivered all three. If I had any wish, it would be to figure out how to keep from getting warm after extended use. So pleasantly surprised at how light they are and to deliver such rich sound. Second surprise was the simple but effective controls. Finally the quality of the noise cancelling was amazing. I can sit in the living room with my wife watch her show while I listen to music or watch my own movie and never hear anything but what I am supposed to. They are pricey but if you are particular, they are worth it.

Worth the price.

They are lightweight and don’t apply too much pressure. I wear them 9 hours a day for work usually on meetings or listening to streaming audio. I do not wear them out to use with my phone. Phone calls with them are perfect. The charge lasts about two days with my usage. If it helps, I also wear external hearing aids, and these headphones fully cover my ears and the aids. No complaints.

The fact these headphones have 30 hours' worth of battery life, and customizable EQ settings (they only apply to my iPhone) make this worth my $400. Yes you can use the XM5 with Windows. I have not experienced any audio/visual delay during use. You can configure the headphone properties in Sound settings, and enable bass boost if you like. From what I can hear, the EQ settings I configure with the Sony Headphones only apply to my phone, not my laptop. Nonetheless, if you set them right, you can make one of the best listening experiences possible. For loud work (i.e. vacuuming the house), they do an excellent job cancelling noise. The case is stylish and easy to use. Unfortunately these headphones don't fold like their predecessor. Overall, this product is awesome. I'm glad I bought it.

While the audio quality is not quite as good as audiophile wired headphones, it is better than lots of similar competitors. You can tell the bass is slightly boosted, good clean mids and highs, overall the sound is excellent for what it is. Good battery life, it will easily last a whole day. The noise-canceling is amazing on these, a must have for any air travel. I have had these for six months so far, and they have held up well.

Sony WH1000X5 Wireless Headphones are good

I debated between the Bose and Sony. Ultimately bought the Sony. Pros: Excellent sound quality for movies and music, comfortable ear pods. Easy to use touch and button features and app to fine tune sound. Love that I can plug in for hardwire connection; and I have used that capability a few times. Battery life is very good and it connects to Bluetooth easily. Cons: If you have a smaller head, you may not be able to adjust the fit small enough. The pressure then sits on the top of your head and that can be uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Bose was the same as far as fit. Also, noise cancelling is good but not exceptional. They don't fold up for smaller carry size. Would have been nice, but not a must. Does make them a little clunky to carry around.

Sony Hit This One Out of the Ballpark!

The comfort is exceptional where you can wear it for several hours on end. I took a 16 hour international flight and a 4 hour connecting flight and had no problem keeping these on nearly the entire time. The light weight makes you want to keep these on your head listening to music. The battery life is also exceptional that I still used them for a 1-2 hours for several days after my trip without recharging. The case is compact enough to fit in my bag that has about 3 inches width. If you're an audiophile, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and cable provided so you can listen to high resolution music without compromise. The only negative is that Sony didn't include a USB-C power adapter to charge these headphones. Newer GaN ones can deliver sufficient current for charging and they're very small.

Also very comfortable, I do not usually like/use headphones because they give me headaches, but I have worn these a few hours without issue. The sound quality it also very good, not tiney or washed out at all, also not too bass heavy. If I had to say one negative it would be that they are a little bulky to travel with because they do not fold up. However, they plus side to that is that they feel more durable. Overall, as reflected in the 5 stars, definitely a worth it purschase if you like to listen tk music while working in public and do not want to hear all the noise or if you are traveling.

Worth the Money

Go too travel headphones for roadtrips and working out. Great battery life, light weight, and always feel secure on my head. If worried about sweating with these just grab soft silicone ear covers on amazon and it’s like they’re not even on there.

This is better that QC Ultra.

I tried Bose QC Ultra but I could still hear the idling noise. The XM5 has AI noise cancelling which actually works and I could feel the difference in public transport. Also Bose pays attention to highs and mids more than lows which sounds unpleasently loud to me. I love loud headphones but when they are properly tuned. The XM5 however is not as loud as Bose but because of the outstanding ANC you feel the music more on these. More details and less disturbing noises. Actually when ANC works properly you will get a feeling that these are louder than QC ultras. I had xm4 before these and I can tell the difference in sound is above on XM5

The headphones play audio perfectly and when I use them I can’t hear anything else. The headphones quality are really good and they are really comfortable. I wear them almost everyday and I’ve never had any problems with charging them. The headphones are perfect and I’ve never had any problem with them.

Better than the cheaper Sony models

The ear pieces are fairly comfortable over glasses. Not as cushy as the cheaper Sony models. But they feel like they will hold up better than the cushy style. Noise canceling works well for my application-late night movie watching. The pause feature when you remove the headphones is pretty cool. Wish they could be louder, but that’s probably hearing loss from motorcycles and heavy metal. The headband portion isn’t that comfortable after a while, you have to lossen them up and shift the band or it begins to hurt. I’d take these over the cheaper Sony, but will likely look at ones that can be stupid loud and a bit more comfortable.
