pretty amazing headphones!

Sony took their top of the line sound quality and active noise cancelation and made it even better. Comes in a wide range of colors and has been rated by many as the best in class. Highly recommend for long trips, cheaper then iPhone pro max, great battery life, and most importantly every stylish. This is definitely a great gift without breaking the bank with other premium headphones in the same space. The case covers and protects the whole ear phones. So far no negative issues as she has already used it for over 2 months since Christmas.

The Noise cancelling is a nice feature, though you could still slightly hear sounds when playing music when around really loud construction & commuting in train tunnels. The Bass is neat, well matched with song & not overwhelming, The headphones are very comftable to wear. I highly recommend these headphones. Im actually about to get the ear buds next.

Quality So Good It’ll Make You Cry

The battery life on these is easily better, the sound quality and noise cancelling on these headphones are so good, you can hear each individual instrument in your music. A great overall upgrade for the 1000 lineup!

In the realm of bluetooth ANC headphones ive owned the 1000 XM2 / Bose NC 700/ Sennheiser Momentum 3/ Bower & Wilkins PX/ PX7’s /Apple Airpods Max & Master & Dynamic MH65. Each brand has its pros and cons and design uniqueness. In retrospect, i love headphones and respect each companies vision for their products. In regards to the the XM5, in short these are a GREAT addition to the 1000 lineup! Remember, these are wireless consumer grade headphones. So wireless codec even though its LDAC supportive will never get even close to a wired headphone with a DAC connected to it. Bluetooth as it stands cant even compare to a CD Quality grade sound which is 16 bit 44.1 kHz. So take that info for what its worth. Proper Hi Res support is attainable via wired designated (Sennheiser HD 650/ Focal Clear/ HiFiMan) and a DAC/AmP with a proper source like Tidal/ Qobuz & Apple Music loseless. As a general consumer product its perfect. Its drivers though smaller is much more refined from the XM’s the EQ option is perfect. The noise cancelling is stronger than the XM4’s. The major upgrade are the voice mics their much clearer and crisper for yhe receiver. The design to me feels more premium from the XM4, just unfortunate that it doesnt fold. Now in terms of value, thw price is just right. Comparedto the Apple Airpods Max thats a toigh choice. If youre in the apple ecosystem definitely get the Max over the XM5 but overall i would choose the XM5 due to the app and weight of the headphones.

Compare with the max, Sony xm5 is much lighter and peformace as good epcially in vocal, bass, and maybe better in noise cancellation. My son likes a lot!

Great product

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Some stuff is good some stuff needs to be improved The surface of the arch that fits your head is very thin, this looks good, but it makes it so that the point of contact in your head is minimal. Since only a small part of this surface touches your head, there is a lot of pressure on it, and after an hour, the top of my head starts hurting, and I have to move the ring around throughout the day to avoid this pain, which is very annoying. The headphone comes with sensors which detect if you have them on. It comes with an app where you can choose if to turn the headphones off when you take them off your head by using the sensor. This is amazing for saving batteries meaning you don't have to charge them often because you forgot to turn them off manually. The problem is you can choose a timer for the to turn off and turn off immediately after taking them off, making it very annoying when you want to take your headphones off for multiple reasons like going to the toilet, talking to someone else or simply moving them around to find a more comfortable position, they turn off and if you are in a meeting on slack or teams, skype you will have to go through the process of connecting a device to these apps again which is very annoying

Used for a couple weeks for work without needing to charge, charged from 30 to 100 percent in 1hr. This generation has an amazing improvement in sound quality with the carbon fiber drivers. With this new version all distortion at high volumes from bass is completely eliminated, unlike the XM4s or Bose 700 headphones. 10/10 would buy again.
