We are sorry to hear that the fit of your WH-1000XM5 feels loose and heavy. To ensure a more secure feel, we recommend extending the sliders fully before putting them on and then adjusting them until the headband rests softly on the top of your head, which helps distribute the weight more evenly and stabilizes the earcups. Since these headphones feature a "soft-fit" leather and a lightweight design, finding that specific "sweet spot" with the slider length is key to preventing them from shifting while you move.

These would be great in an offic setting or for walks around the block. Their noise cancelling is good and i love their ability to stop noise cancelling when talking or being talked to. They're not the loudest headphones. If you want something loud for the gym I wouldn't recommend these.

Inferior quality - expecting Sony to recall
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy these headphones "WH1000XM5", the physical quality of these headphones do not match the high price. I got the Sony - WH1000XM5 6 months ago and the sound quality was always great though the headphones themselves felt flimsy when compared to WH1000XM4. That is, up until recently when the plastic of the right swivel piece cracked and a piece fell off, rendering the headphones unusable. I would understand if this was due to rough handling, this was from normal use leading to the right swivel breaking and the right speaker being left dangling by the wire (please see the attached pictures). Many others who’ve purchased this product have had the exact same issue with the exact same piece, suggesting a definite manufacturing defect. But Sony refuses to either recall or cover the damages, despite the headphones being under warranty, just a simple google search "wh1000xm5 broken hinge issue" will show the exact same issue occurring all across the globe. When contacting customer support they simply referred me to a separate repair shop and said there was nothing they could do. All in all a terrible experience and would not purchase headphones from Sony again, you’re much better off purchasing from a brand such as Bose or Apple where the product is sturdy and they stand behind their products whether it is good or bad, providing ample and just customer support. Being a loyal Sony customer, purchasing everything from their Sound System, to TV's to Playstation, my expectation is that Sony, as a flagship product, needs to step up and do a recall. This will set the right brand image for Sony backing their reputation.

Great Product

An example of this would be the speech detection, I woul talk and audio would cut off, so overall you could talk and listen at the same time. Unless of course you changed it in the app. Nonetheless its a great product, amazing audio and are comfortable around the ear!

Great sound quality and comfort

I wish they made cooking earpieces for them on release, that’s the only thing I would change. I use these to study in order to focus, and they’re comfortable enough to walk with outside as well. So far the connectivity seems pretty seamless.

I bought the XM4 and really like them, so took the plunge for the upgrade. I'm not sure I see a big difference in the new one, but it still sounds great. Maybe a little lighter than the XM4. If you like top-notch headphones, these will definitelu fit the bill.

Worth the wait, money and the hype! Get these!

I've had, and consequently compared these Headphones to the Bowers and Wilkins PX7's, the older Sony 1000MX3's and Jabra Elite 85t's and the Sony's Noice Cancelling is superfluous. No question. The deep bass, the rich treble/highs makes listening to everything from 2Pac to Enya, to Nelly a choice experience. The phone/bluetooth quality is outstanding. I refuse to take a call on any other headset that I own than these Sony WH-1000MX5's!!

Perfect for Long Haul Flights

Wore these on an 8+ hour flight on one charge. Love that they come with an aux cord for in-flight entertainment and the noise cancelling was perfect. Also was able to wear a travel pillow and sleep with them on pretty easily.

The ANC is superb and is a great addition to these both wired and wireless to your preferences as they last for about 35 hours wirelessly and connection is seamless and simple. Definitely recommend after the use of my AT-M50X for thousands of hours.

Best head phones

There was a baby screaming crying behind me and I turned on the noise canceling and it all went away and it was radio silent I couldn’t hear a peep!

Bought these for my kid (24 yr old). Said these are very good. Loves the over ear. Can wear them quite a while without listening fatigue. Loves the function of covering on one ear muff to be able to pause listening and talk to people.

Great headphones but can’t share apple audio

For Apple/Iphone users* You cannot share audio with others with these headphones. If you are looking to maybe watch a movie together somewhere and not disturb others this wont be your friend.* But great everything else!! Good sound when adjusted to your liking with the eq, good feel, holds a great charge and charges quick!

Best NC Headphones for studying with Misophonia

I use them at the gym and to play games and study. Theyre authentically pleasing so i dont feel silly wearing them. They do fall off with heavy activity so i dont recommend them for running or jumping. But i LOVE the NC features because i struggle with misophonia so much.
