Over all, the sound quality and connectivity was amazing. I would recommend if using to the gym, having a walk, etc. Don’t have the volume to high people could hear what you're listening too.

Posted .Hi SarahM, We appreciate your feedback and we're glad that you like the sound and connectivity. There are several reasons why your ears may hurt when putting on or wearing headphones:
You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue.
Note: Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.
How long have you been wearing the headphones? The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt.
Note: You may need to limit your headphone usage.

Not As Good As Reviewers Say

The main issue is the sound quality, it sounds mediocre, or even bad without spending hours tuning it. iPhone users are more likely to be not happy with the quality due to a lack of a third party EQ, and Android users are still trying to find out how to make these pair of headphones worth the money. Also unmentioned by many online, or YouTube reviewers is AutoANC instead of having ANC working full force all the time. I can be next to a person speaking and hear every word they say with music playing. When ANC kicks in, it's honestly barely noticeable. I still need my music very loud to hear over the loud environment. Ambient mode is okay, I'll use it if I have too but, I usually take off the headphones. Fortunately, the XM5's are light and have a nice, rubberized finish that I like. I have big ears, and comfort over 3+ hours is great. And, the lack of folding doesn't personally bother me. Overall, I think I should have gotten AirPods Max whenever I don't hear the ANC work.

Great ANC cans

Was a choice between this and the new Bose QuietComfort Ultras. I preferred the comfort and headband of the Ultra, but the mic quality and aware feature by covering the right earcup is very convient.
