TONS OF CONNECTIVITY ISSUES

While the sound quality and comfort are pristine, there are connectivity issues almost every time I use. It randomly disconnects, beeps, pauses my music, skips a track, does everything I don’t want it to do. Turning off gesture controls sometimes makes it better, but I did not shell out 400 bucks to compromise on basic comfort.

Poor design for longevity or repairability

Worse noise canceling than the wh-1000xm3. If you are a soft hipster type who doesn't know what a hammer is for the rubber coating might not start wearing off in a month or two. Maybe don't mow the lawn with them, or paint, or do anything but sit sweat-sweat free staring at your phone. They are not German Shephard proof. If the headband needs to be replaced there is a cable that attaches the two sides that runs through the bracket where the connector cannot fit. Thus, to do any significant repair to the headband, including the soft, ultra delicate faux rubber around the padding you better know where to source and how to crimp on an extraordinarily brittle 16 pin connector. Thank god for ebay and electrical tape. I won't be winning any fashion awards with my Frankenphones. If I had known they were so difficult to repair I wouldn't have purchased.

They sound good out the box but the app with eq really brings them to life. My only complaint is the headband feels cheep. Finger prints show really easy but that isnt a concern for me.

Better than what she had on her Xmas list

Eight months in, always lets me know how she really loves the headphones and how she really enjoys them and enjoys all the different sound settings. So happy with this purchase. And as she mentions she’s happy I bought them for her instead of the items she had on her Christmas list. She’s 16 years old 15 at the time of purchase.

Quality of sound but price

Stream music through Bluetooth without any breaking up. Only my concern material which Sony used. 400 dollars price tag is too much for me.

Noiser cancelation is very good and phone calls are absolutely unparalleled. They aren't as comfortable as bose and occasionally the songs seem to change themselves.

Good, but could be better.

The noise cancelling is amazing, however i would not recommend these to somebody looking for the best sound quality. They do not sound bad, but for 400 dollars i did expect them to sound better

Great Sound and Tech, Questionable Build Quality

I grabbed them to use them for their 51st’ish hour of use ans the left ear piece snapped off as I was putting them on. I do not have a large head. I have owned and bought for others: XM2s, XM3s, and now these XM5s. I think Sony got it wrong with the structural change.
