Exceptional sound quality

Every so often they will have trouble pairing or switch to active listening mode. But it's not been to much of an issue. Overall a great pair of headphones with exceptional sound quality.

Good riddance barking dogs and screaming kids

Exactly what I needed to drown out the noisy neighbors behind me. Solved my stress headaches. I wish I had gotten them sooner. Only thing is ,they cannot connect wirelessly to Mac or IPad. Otherwise they are the BEST ! Much cheaper than an Apple brand.

The WH-1000XM5 is beautifully finished in newly developed soft fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. I have had other wireless Bose models and I like these Sony's better. Its not tight out of the box (Bose 700) and squeezing my head. The headphones sound great and filled with a ton of features.

Overall they are rather uncomfortable

To address this issue, we recommend disabling the Automatic Power Off setting. You can do this by using the Sony | Sound Connect app. Simply navigate to the My Device tab, select Device Settings, then System, and finally, choose the option for Automatic Power Off to select "Do not turn off."

When you pair the headphones using the Bluetooth settings of the connecting device, select the headphones model name without the LE- prefix. If you only see the headphones model name with LE- prefix, wait for a few seconds until the model name without prefix LE- is displayed.
To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection” (via Sony Headphones Connect app) and see if it resolves the problem. Also, please make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version.

Great quality, terrible durability

But eventually moisture gets in and causes an annoying static. It can be fixed by removing the earcup and putting a silica packet inside, but that seems a little ridiculous for a pair of headphones as pricey as these. My first pair last about 8 months before this happened - my warranty replacement pair lasted about 2 weeks. From what I’ve read, this problem is rather common.

If you use the headset when the air is dry, you may experience discomfort due to static electricity accumulated on your body. This is not a malfunction of the headset. Noisy workplace

So far this has been a game changer. Slightly skinnier and fancier than the xm4 which I’m unsure if I prefer. But so far loving the sound.
