Great pair of headphones for everyday listening!

The set up and charging was simple and I have no issues since purchasing them. The soundproofing is crazy good. For comparison, I use video editing headphones for work - so these Sony headphones absolutely work for daily casual music listening. I’ve recommended these to my friends and they have been thrilled with them as well. Only complaint was that it took a while to track down a pair of these headphones in this color.

Far superior to the XM4. The microphone is so much better too, the only thing is I feel they’re slightly bulkier than the Xm4 but it’s much better quality.

C'm'on, Sony, you can do better!

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony makes the best headphones, and I always buy their top-of-the-line offering, but this set is a bit disappointing for a fifth-generation set at this price. On the positive side, the sound and the noise reduction are the best yet, which is primary. There are, however, some negatives. Most important, these cost $400, and there is still no basic waterproofing! I don't want to go on a walk on a summer day and destroy the headphones because I am sweating or get caught in the rain. And if it rains, you can't just fold up the phones and put them in your pocket: their "innovative" design eliminated the foldable earpieces of previous versions. I almost returned them, but I decided the sound and noise reduction outweighed the negatives. But c'm'on, Sony, can't you do better than this?

If water or foreign matter enters the headset, this can result in burnout or malfunction. Avoid situations such as the following and be careful not to get moisture or dirt on the headset. With four microphones on each earcup, this is our biggest ever step forward in noise cancelling. Ambient sound is captured even more accurately for a dramatic reduction in high-frequency noise. Thanks to Auto NC Optimizer, noise-cancelling performance is always and automatically optimized based on wearing conditions and external environmental factors such as atmospheric pressure.

Autistic review- NOT the fix for sensory issues

I got these headphones because they’re supposedly the best sound canceling headphones on the market, I got them for the ANC to try to help reduce overstimulation from sound in my daily life, and they definitely do NOT fit the bill. They’re almost useless in the sense that I can hear almost everything through them. *note- I am not listening to music through them, I just wanted active noise cancellation, so maybe if you want to listen to music through them, they’d be worth a little more to you but they’re not worth the money for sound cancellation* I was going to rerun them, HOWEVER, there came a day when my neighbors construction was driving me crazy, and the low rumbling noises were almost gone with these headphones on. So I ended up keeping them for when I need them because they’re so good at blocking LOW END FREQUENCIES ONLY. They do nothing for other noise. These are definitely not my daily fix… plus my holistic friend says the EMF just about negates the positive effect of the sound canceling in terms of our nervous systems, so these are not the fix for your autistic loved ones (or self) UNLESS you have a singular issue with low rumbly noises. Bonus review: my (non autistic) friend, who is a live sound engineer in Nashville, borrowed these to try to mix live sound, and he said they did not do near enough for him to be able to hear the mix over the crowd noise so these definitely are not what they claim to be and the ANC has a LONG way to go. And unfortunately I had such a bad experience with Best Buy I recommend you stay away from Best Buy just about at all costs.

The noise canceling function works primarily on noise in the low frequency band such as vehicles and air conditioning. While noise is reduced, it is not completely canceled.
If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, please try the following:
Make sure the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
Check with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app whether the function of the NC/AMB button is set to [Ambient Sound Control].
Because the noise canceling performance is automatically optimized by the Auto NC Optimizer function according to changes in the wearing condition and usage environment, you may notice fluctuations in the noise canceling effect.

The chat/speak is way to sensitive. I wish we could turn that off permanently, and turn it on only when we feel it would be useful. The volume swipe is nice. I use them while cutting my grass, and it helps make my 4 hour cutting go by nicely.

You can enable/disable Speak-to-Chat feature using the Headphones Connect app. You can also change the sensitivity of the automatic audio detection, and change the time until the Speak-to-Chat mode ends. In the factory settings, the time until the mode ends is set to about 15 seconds.

I does connect to both my computer and my phone but is it not a fluid process. Connection is slow 99% of the time for the transition between both devices
