Did notice some improvement with Noise cancellation and transparency mode. Note you can’t fold the 5s but for me was no biggie because they feel a lot more sturdy than the previous generation

I’ve had them for ver a year without any problems. This is actually my second pair. The Sony WH1000XM4 headphones being my first ones (I gave to my sister and she loves them too). The Blue is Fabulous. They are light and comfortable I often forget I have them on. The App for the Sony Headphones is great to use with both models. It’s an all around cool experience!

I had it down to these, and Skull Candy Crusher Evo. I wanted clear, crisp sound with a good bass response, Noise cancelling was also important. Both headphones had excellent reviews, but I decided on the Sony simply because I’m familiar with the brand, and I’ve never been disappointed. This headset checked all the boxes. With the app’s equalizer, I was able to set the bass as heavy as I wanted…and it sounds amazing. By the way, the app is super easy to navigate. The noise cancelling function is primo. They’re light, and there is no discomfort wearing them for extended periods. Battery life is great. Pairing was simple. Packaging was impressive with a very nice storage case. In my opinion, there are no cons. I really love these headphones, and feel they’re absolutely worth what I paid. Sony has put out an excellent product, and I would definitely recommend these phones to anyone.

They pair well with Apple devices and android/PC which is ultimately why I got them, bc this one chick in my office is so incredibly loud when she’s on virtual meetings. I can still hear her, but it’s not as distracting. I do like how they are very light and comfortable. The sound and noise cancellation is comparable to the AirMax pros that my husband owns. These are much lighter. Downside is the case is rather bulky, but the AirMax pros only come with a bra-like case, LOL, and they are quite heavier. I do with the case was more hardshell. Right now the case is a canvas covered cardboard like material. If you need compact for frequent travel go with the Beats overear, otherwise, you can’t really beat these. Battery seems to last forever in between maybe an hour of listening.

The sound quality and the noise cancelation are amazing. Really feels like im just surrounded by the sound. THE BATTERY LIFE IS MY FAVORITE... it lasts sooooo long and i love that they turn off on their own after some inactivity (when music isnt playing)

Amazing Sound Quality but Not Super Comfortable

They have exccelent noise cancelling and great connectivity. The music and shows I listen to are always really clear. Battery life is also excellent. *** However, the band can get pretty uncomfortable after using for a couple hours, and I don’t love that they can’t fold.

Great Headphones for being on the Spectrum!

These are admittedly a pretty huge upgrade from the ATX's, however I think they are the best in their price range, especially giving you superior sound quality without getting close to $1000 like its competitors. Everything is very easy to use, phone calls are perfect, bass and audio quality for everything from heavy rap to hard rock to lullaby music is amazing. I am on the autism spectrum and hate flying for many reasons, these made my last 3 hour flight a piece of cake. Lastly, they're very comfortable, even when wearing for several hours. Genuinely, these are a lifesaver for anyone with any kind of sensory issues.

The best noise canceling headphones money can buy

I actually sold my Bose headphones, which were my second backup versions for traveling, in order to get these, and don't regret it a bit. These completely are the most comfortable and lightweight headphones I've had, I wore them for 6 to 8 hours while traveling in planes, with phenomenal battery life, fantastic sound, and completely solid connectability. The app allows you to seamlessly connect to either two devices, which unfortunately makes you lose LDAC, but otherwise works perfectly. If this is important to you. The noise canceling is absolutely out of this world, you are truly in a world of your own. Are they expensive? Yes, but they are without a doubt the best noise canceling headphones you can buy. I've tried multiple different versions, from Bose, and Sony, these are by far the best ones I've ever had, and definitely will be sticking with them

Good clarity in the bass and clean tones overall. Noise canceling works well. Really enjoy the touch pad for controlling music etc. Two buttons makes it easy to use but still have lots of control over what I want. The app is great, I usually dislike these things however it's easy to use and super customizable but not too much. Great bang for your buck.

Noise cancelling is very good. I typically use these for workouts and it drowns out the noise of a busy after-work gym. User friendly, I love the swiping controls on the ear for volume and skipping tracks, and the headphones fit very comofortably over the ear. Sound quality is phenomenal. Great headphones for a variety of situations.

Noise-canceling? It's like an instant peaceful island getaway - even at family gatherings! Comfort? It's like two fluffy clouds hugging my ears during Netflix marathons. Touch controls? I feel like a DJ at a silent disco, swiping to adjust volume. Battery life? Endless! I haven't charged them in a month. Are they secretly aliens? Sound quality? It's so good; I can hear music notes high-fiving in my brain. Plus, they're cat-ignoring magic! My cat knocked things off shelves, but I was too busy jamming out! :') In short, Sony WH1000XM5 headphones are audio paradise. I'm a noise-canceling, music-loving superhero now! P.S. Great upgrade

On/off detection is my favorite feature upgrade going from the 3s to the 5s, definitely saves on battery life for my forgetful self. They are also much lighter and more comfortable when wearing for long periods. I gave them a nice 12 hour trial run right after getting them and was plesently surprised how little ear fatigue I had. After wearing the xm3s that long I'd start twitching above the ear, nothing like that with the 5s. They're really good at switching between devices. I switch between my phone (android), iPad, and laptop (windows) quite a bit and haven't had to manually toggle the connection at all so far. I wish it was a little more visually clear which side is left vs right. They are labeled, but it's kinda hard to see in low light and I can never remember which side the power button goes on and always seem to miss it when I'm feeling for it to put them on.

HANDS DOWN BEST HEADPHONE FOR IT'S PRICE

Excellent transparency, the best call quality, arguably the best ANC, great connectivity, and super comfortable. It's sound quality is a bit subjective as straight out of the box I felt it sounded good but not great. A little bass heavy and bloated but it also has one of the best app EQ's which makes it sound fantastic once you find your favorite settings and really brings it up to par with other wireless headphones that are twice the price. In fact if I had to find one flaw it would be the short charge cable (a 6" cable is a joke) but that's the only thing I can think of. I absolutely love the XM5 and it is DEFINITELY worth it's price tag.

These are incredible! Great ANC, amazing sound quality over Bluetooth and 3.5mm, and very comfortable. I use them for music, planes, and games and TV when my wife is sleeping. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. The control app also allows you to choose a custom equalizer similar to choosing an eyeglass prescription (better 1 or 2?) which gives the best sound to your ears. Add to all this, the battery lasts forever. I have used these for easily 10-15 hours and only used 30% battery with ANC on full time. These are not cheap but they are certainly worth it if you want great quality. The only downside is the lack of any waterproofing (the instructions even warn against sweating. But I would still give 5 stars as these are not meant for heavy outdoor/exercise use.

The noise canceling works great, the sounds is fantastic, they are comfortable to wear for hours and the battery life is long. I didn't own a pair of xm4 so I don't have a comparison but these are well worth the money thus far.

They were my daily driver headphones for over 2 years. When they finally died on me, I decided to try the Apple AirPods Max. Wow what a mistake that was. They were bulky, heavy, and did not sound nearly as good as I would have hoped for their cost. I returned the AirPods for these Sonys, which were on sale for about half the price of the AirPods. These sound SO MUCH more premium and are infinitely more comfortable. I wish these would fold up a little smaller, but I have no real complaints about them. I love that I can use these as Bluetooth or with an INCLUDED aux cable.
