The sound quality, bass, clarity, 40 hr battery, noise canceling Im in a loud metal stamping factory and i only hear my music. The putting your hand over the right headphone to quiet down the music as well as noise cancelation, so you can hear whoever it is wanting to talk to you is an amazing great idea.

This model doesnt fold. This model also seems to be easier to mark with fingerprints and oils from skin contact. The sound quality is great as I expected and thete is an equalizer app witb presets and you can make customs. The XM4 came with a case that included cords and an airplane adapter. XM5 doesnt inclue the double prong airplane adapter. I still love these but unless XM6 makes some inprovements and take inspiration from thr XM4 I might sit that generation out! Oh yeah.. these give me sweaty ears! These are NOT for the gym or a rainy day. Disappointed in that becuae the ANC is aweaome. Id love ro run in thse but Im sure they woild ger moisture damage

Noise Cancellation = SONY

The audio quality out of the box may not be to everyone's liking, but once you fiddle with the EQ, the sound gets much better. I have used it in public transport and the noise cancellation has no issues. The connection to two devices also makes this headphone very useful. The microphone quality is also very good. People have said I sounded more natural and clear than my Airpods pro. There are better sounding headphones, but if you prioritize noise cancellation, then go for this!

Noise Canceling Heaven!

I've had them for almost a year now and they're still holding up better than ever. These headphones are user friendly, super comfortable and worth every penny. The sound quality is beyond incredible and the noise cancellation as well as the transparency mode are both amazing!

Now, because she deserve them In had to buy another one for her. Once you wear them, you don't want to take them off, the noice cancelling feature once you touch it is supperv!! Comfortable, easy to get used to it.. Wich I can wear it at work!!

These headphones sound fantastic! There are so many really cool features that remind you of the reason you dropped $400 dollars on some ear speakers.. They connect to everything effortlessly, they pause automatically when you start speaking to someone, you can hole the right headphone to turn on the external mics so that you can listen to someone talking to you, etc.. These have my vote for being worth the price, but only just worth it. Good job Sony, these are fire.

Turn up the volume of the headset and the connected device.
Connect the Bluetooth device to the headset once again.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.

Durable and great battery life

I’ve had them for a while now I carry them with me in my bag for college definitely can take a punch. I have a scrape on mine after a huge impact, but doesn’t affect performance and the battery Life is amazing.

And that’s coming from someone who has the 3rd gen of them (they got old) Apple AirPods Pro Max (too heavy!) and short-term tried 2 Soundcore models (NC isn’t strong enough, and a little uncomfortable) Sony’s WH1000XM5 can’t be beat. They’re well designed, comfortable, sturdy, and the noise canceling is out of this world! Purchased two at Best Buy with my Total Tech membership for that 2 year coverage, that’s a match made in heaven! My spouse and I love them!

Great headphone sound and price point.

I own both and the MX5 has far greater noise cancellation with the same tone quality as MX4. More ear cup space makes these retain less heat and therefore more comfortable. If youre flying as much as me, the noise cancellation is scary good on a plane (no crying babies). I highly recommend these headphones and the Sony app offers very adaptive tuning.

Best Freaking Headphones

I love the accompanying app which allows me to customize the sound equalizer and other features. These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned; I wear them when I study, clean, and craft. Amazing noise canceling ability with very user-friendly ability to temporarily disable it either manually or by voice. Easily one of the best tech purchases I’ve ever made.

Xm5s are better than i thought

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy the color and the sound profile, i upgraded from xm3 and the noise cancelling is noticeably different. the added drivers help the sound be more clear and distinct. bass is stronger but not overwhelmingly so, i just don’t like the fold out method for the 5s, they fold outward looking and sit on my clavicle uncomfortably, i also worry about the hinges since i’ve seen a lot of people mention that, but so far so good. i probably will get the xm6s but the only thing holding me back is the colors. :)

Great Headphones - Just don't fit my ears

The sound was a little better and they were much lighter. After almost 2 weeks of using them daily for 8+ hours for work, I came to the conclusion that my right ear was not comfortable in them and I could feel the inner lining of the ear cup pressing against my ear. I dealt with it for 5 more days than I probably should have. It made my ear sore from the pressure and rubbing. I am really upset because I liked the weight and sound quality. The ability to pair to multiple devices seamlessly made them PERFECT for me. I had them paired and connected to my work laptop and my gaming laptop. When a work call came in, it would mute the sound from my gaming rig. Overall, a GREAT headset for anyone...except me and my big ole ears...

I had the xm4 but then they broke over years of using them. And replaced them with these they are way better then the last ,there good for the gym and sound amazing. But my fav thing about these is the lightness of headphones they fit perfectly on my head and dont come off when im playing basketball.
