I've had a XM2 for 6 years which worked so well, but I unfortunately lost it during a trip. Upgraded to XM5 last month and it delivers moreeeeee than expected. Sound is a personal taste but I prefer Sony's profile to Bose and Apple. Definitely recommend :)

Love these!

They worked great! I was able to listen to my movie without having to crank up the volume. The noise cancelling was amazing. I also liked the ability to pause the movie with a tap on the headphone and turn off the noise cancelling by covering it with my hand to hear the announcements. I definitively recommend these.

This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. Failed in under 1 yr and Sony refused warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product has a high failure rate for the hinge joint between the head "strap" and the ear cup (see other 1 star reviews). Mine failed in after approximately 9 months of regular use (Aug-2024 thru May-2025). This defect is a systemic issue which can be found anecdotally in numerous places online. Similar issues have been acknowledged by Sony with other products such as the WH-ULT900N. While it should have been covered under warranty, which covers 1 year for "hardware components packaged with the product" from "issues caused by defects in material or workmanship during ordinary customer user", Sony refused to cover my claim and indicated I would have to pay out of pocket for repairs. The product is has a faulty design that is common across Sony products and the refusal to acknowledge the warranty has put me off other Sony products in general. With little other recourse, I've written this review and submitted a ticket to the Better Business Bureau.

Best sounding mainstream wireless headphones, few negatives though, the touch sensor panel seems to have a kind of its own!I wear them all day for work all year round so I wish they had less wear fatigue but if you wear them for shorter periods of time they are perfectly comfortable!Otherwise my favorite headphones!

Held up for over a year, good for everyday use

They seem a little delicate around the part where the headband attaches to the ear pieces, but he's used them daily for about a year now and they seem to have held up. He uses them for music, his phone, and work calls.

Good But Not Great

These Sony headphones were purchased as a replacement for the Airpods Max. I trust Sony headphones enough to try these, they borrow some of the features of the Airpods Max. The headphones borrow the tight fitting overhead noise cancellation fit of the aforementioned headphones. They’re snug, but unlike the Apple they make you perspire. They are sweaty after 30-40 minutes. The Apple never produces that in three years of ownership. The sound is good, what you would expect from Sony. The headphones similarly produce spatial sound like the Max. It’s necessary to download an app to make them work, which was okay on my personal phone, but when I tried to use them on my work phone it didn’t pair. I would rate these headphones 3 out of 5 stars, overall good affordable Sony product.
