Great Headphones, Okay App & A Little Frustration

The app can be a lot to deal with and apart from just pressing buttons and getting a feel of it, it is not really intuitive. That being said there are some very kool features with it. As for the headphones, I wish there was more than 3 levels of noise cancellation and I wish the cancellation was on a higher level. Comparing them to the Bose, I'd say the headphones themselves work well and there are more options with the app but the noise cancelation is not as good. These are still great headphones with many features and are worth the price but I would have been happier if they costed around $325 vs $400. There are also paid app features that I have not used yet and that is frustrating because of the price.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the WH-1000XM5 touch sensor control panel doesn't work properly. When you swipe your finger forward/backward or up/down on the touch sensor control panel, the touch sensor control panel may not work correctly depending on the angle at which the headset is worn or the direction your head is facing. Make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version. If the touch sensor control panel does not work, follow the steps on the links below to resolve the issue.

Poor value for money

They feel very cheap and are very creaky on the head. Also, the wear sensor doesn’t work consistently. It didn’t work when I first used them and I had to reset them to get it to work but after wearing them for an extended period, it stopped working again. Also, as an iPhone user not all features are available for my use. Sony failed on this one.

Broken Right Hinge-- like a lot of other people

I tried to figure how I could possible have broken these so quickly, then I found all the other customer complaints. The connection between the headband and the earcup broke at the rotator. (And there's no self-help way to glue or tape it back to function.) I got a Bose headset as replacement, and it working great... with parts falling off. This is a product defect. It is a shame because the Sony sound and function were great ...for a few months. For me, this was a waste of money. NOT BestBuy's fault by the way. This is a Sony product defect. (Model: WH1000XM5/B, SKU:6505727, purchased 12/21/2022)
