    Do not get these Headphones!!!

    Let me explain something. For these headphones specifically that cost about 400 dollars its alot for a pair of headphones. It can be reasonable for the specs it offers but these are not even worth 400 bucks. The volume and bass is not even loud at all. Not matter what you do with the equalizer settings changing them here and there for your preference you cannot get them any louder or even have a good bass. Let me put an examlple, these headphones i own for gaming are the Razer Nari essential and preferably for only GAMING. These are THX Sound supported and thay have such a better volume and bass and is literally only for gaming and only costed 70 dollars. What a disappointment from sony

    Always loved the xm headphones i had xm 2 xm 4 xm 5. But the 2 xm 5 headphones i have owned constantly disconnected and re connected all the time. Even a factory reset has not helped.

    The ANC ON these are fantastic the transparency mode is also really good could be a little better but it works great i dont like how they cant fold but that’s not a big problem for me

    The 360 is nice but not worth 24.99

    Sony 360 reality audio is about the only thing going for this product but the fact that you have to pay for the feature (sound quality) of the headphones just makes me mad. I was debating between and the 700's, gave these a shot but the feel and the quality are just not worth the four hundred. I would pay 75 dollars tops for this product, but if they were to sell it with the 360 feature not monthly I would pay the 500 It's actually pretty cool technology. I used them for 4 days and the right headphone gave out returned them went to the popular brand 700 series. The experience was phenomenal from the unboxing to right now their so good I decided to right this review.

    Randomly disconnects & reconnects to Bluetooth.

    I won't speak to the aesthetics, battery life, sound quality, etc. Nor will I compare them to Bose. What I will speak to is this: I use the headset to listen to music or take & place telephone calls on my iPhone 11. I also use it with Zoom & Teams meetings. Sadly, the headset will randomly play the chime and disconnect from bluetooth, then play a new chime and reconnect to my source anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes later. Sony has suggested that my headset's charge is low, or the charge on my iPhone's battery is low. Nope. Or that I my headset is too far from my iPhone source. Nope. The iPhone is in my pocket or in my hand or on my desk, less than 3 feet from the headset. Sony has suggested i make sure that my headset's firmware is current. It is. Or that my iOS version is up to date. It is. Or that my Sony headphones iOS app is not current. Hogwash.I have the same issue when I use my Sony with my MacBook Pro. I will add that I have an old Bose QC35 headset and it NEVER, EVER does this! NOT ONCE. I actually did not use my Sony headset for the first 2 weeks that I owned it, and sadly I discovered this deal-killing problem after the time window to return these to Best Buy. My recommendation: DO NOT buy this product!

      In addition, have you already tried resetting or initializing the headphones? If not yet, we also recommend trying that step.
      Connect the headset to an AC outlet.
      Press the power button and the NC/AMB button simultaneously.

      If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.

    Update for ANC ruined noise cancelling: Not quiet

    Got these over a year ago. Since then, Song has changed their firmware where the headphones don't do true noise cancelling anymore. Which is ridiculous considering it's their main selling point for this specific pair of headphones. I have a sensory processing disorder and these were amazing until the update. Now they limited "ANC" which is ambient noise control. So now you're forced to hear everything around you on top of your music, and it doesn't block the noise out. Please do research before wasting your money, this is intentionally coded to now let most noise be passive and through the headphones even when in Noise Cancelling mode now. It's a huge problem, and I know a lot of people who won't be buying Sony products anymore from them specifically taking away the hard Noise Cancelling feature. This completely ruined the headphones for me. I don't want to hear cars driving by AND my music if I'm walking outside, but apparently that's asking too much.

Because the noise canceling performance is automatically optimized by the Auto NC Optimizer function according to changes in the wearing condition and usage environment, you may notice fluctuations in the noise canceling effect. These steps may help you have a better experience with the noise canceling function:

      -Make sure the noise canceling function is turned on.
      -Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
      -The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
      -When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
      To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
      -With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
      -Check with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app whether the function of the NC/AMB button is set to [Ambient Sound Control].

    I’m an earbud user but I thought I’d try these out. I did not care for the fit or feel of these over the ear headphones plus they were a little warm. I will going back and using my earbud pros.

    Poor choice of word advertising mute, when not.

    U cant mute the headphones with the headphones. U have to find your device or phone to do it. Deal breaker for me. Im taking them back tomorrow. I wish they didnt false advertise and put mute in the description. Poor choice or advertisement.

    Incompetent squirrels

    Here's the deal: You will buy them. They will break. You will then go on a 2-month-long journey fighting Sony to get an exchange. Sony's customer service phone # does not work. In fact, I think their customer service is a group of squirrels in Boca whose only job is to hang up on you. But wait. The squirrels only hang up on you once they give you hope and you have gotten past the hours-long robo conversation with the robo woman who tries to seduce you with her glacially paced conversation and who will take your case number, not one, not two, not three, not four, wait for it..... yeah keep waiting because no one is answering. They won't answer emails or phone calls. Good luck suckers.

    Horrible

    Nothing but constant issues since I bought them and even after having them replaced. The notorious hinge issue finally happened to me last month as well. I wish I never purchased them and they were definitely overrated. It makes me nervous to try the xm6 even though theyre supposed to be better, and the hinge issue is supposed to be fixed.

    I hate these

    I hate these so much. They somehow make ambient noise louder so the noise cancelling is clearly trash. And that's not even on the ambient noise setting. The ambient noise setting would only be useful the purposefully deafening yourself. There is also so little padding that they are excruciating to wear for very long. The buttons are either confusing or prone to accidentally going off. My hair seems to set off the touch one. They are constantly slipping off my head and adjusting themselves larger. I need to wear them on the smallest setting which is baffling because I have a gigantic head. The speak to ambient keeps turning itself on which is terrible because of the aforementioned deafening roar. No way can I wear these on a plane as intended, it would just be torture. At this point I have no use for them. They are essentially trash. I hate them. Probably the worst purchase I have ever made. A complete waste of money.

    doesn’t meet expectafions

    it’s very ligtweignt and feels premium, but the anc and audio quality did not meet my expectations. airpods pro max has better anc in my opinion.

    Lacks functionality, technically good

    Sounds good if you can sit in one spot without laying down let along workout. My gf and I both never use them because functionality should be a feature which they have none of. Rather use my previous Bose or Sony headphones which technically aren’t as good but who cares if not useable. Students or other desk jobs all good

    Get XM4 instead
