Good quality of materials. I like more my B&W PX7 S2, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this one. Because I am wasn't fun of Sony - WH-1000XM4 and Sony - WH-1000XM3.

If you value high quality noise canceling headphones then don't even bother with other brands. Handwashed the case wigh no issues.

Sony headphones amazing!!!

My son enjoys useing them everyday when he works out and also the hand gestures that you can wave your hand over the right side of the headphone makes it lot real easy instead of clicking on your phone or pushing the button... I would definitely recommend to anybody that works out and wants noise cancellation to stay focused...

It has great noise canceling feature. I think that Bose does a good job in that aspect, i jut don't think you should completely not hear the outside noise for safety reasons. So with that Sony does it just right with noise canceling.

Too sensitive

However the sound quality was amazing and they were pretty comfortable!

Gone through AirPods, all beats lines, and even sennheiser and nothing compares to the comfort/sound/microphone quality that these provide. Would give more stars if possible. The feel is nice when you put it on your head. No pinching and could probably wear when I'm sleeping. Great sound and fantastic noise cancelling. I use them during a noisy class and work perfectly.

A much better option from the AirPods Max IMO

AirPods work great for business calls and mobility, AirPod Pros are fantastic for audiophiles, noise cancellation. AirPod Max is where it changes for me - the sound is very tinny and artificially boosted. This, combined with the silly case needed for on/off function, the weight and less battery life had me looking elsewhere for a proper over-the-ear headphone. Enter the WH-1000XM5. The Sony App allows for endless customization of sound which lets me tailor my audio experience for the sound I am looking for. This makes me feel better about my experience and the sound is more accurate. Some of the "smart" gps options for sound and noise cancellation are gimmicky and I don't bother with them. Just a tip - the black has a very smooth black finish that shows greasy fingers. I exchanged them for this silver which has a grittier matte finish and doesn't show fingerprints.

I tried Apple and Bose before these, but both were not as good. The quality of the headphones is very clear and the app they come with allows you to customize the sound to your preference.

However, we are genuinely sorry to learn that you are experiencing discomfort and pain after wearing them for only 20 minutes. This is certainly not the all-day comfort we designed the XM5s to provide. Headphones that cause pain defeat the purpose of great audio and ANC, and we want to help.
Discomfort can sometimes be related to fit or pressure. We recommend trying different ways to adjust the headband to ensure the earcups are sitting properly and the clamping force is evenly distributed.

The only drawback was the headphones, as they caused perspiration in the ears after prolonged use.

Great for autism

Noise cancelling is very good, cancels all background noise. You can still hear a nearby conversation but it's muffled. Ambient noise feature is nice and it's adjustable.
