Wasn’t exactly blown out of the water by their sound quality or noise cancellation but they still do both very well. Headphones are tight on the head.

They sound good out the box but the app with eq really brings them to life. My only complaint is the headband feels cheep. Finger prints show really easy but that isnt a concern for me.

Worse noise canceling than the wh-1000xm3. If you are a soft hipster type who doesn't know what a hammer is for the rubber coating might not start wearing off in a month or two. Maybe don't mow the lawn with them, or paint, or do anything but sit sweat-sweat free staring at your phone. They are not German Shephard proof. If the headband needs to be replaced there is a cable that attaches the two sides that runs through the bracket where the connector cannot fit. Thus, to do any significant repair to the headband, including the soft, ultra delicate faux rubber around the padding you better know where to source and how to crimp on an extraordinarily brittle 16 pin connector. Thank god for ebay and electrical tape. I won't be winning any fashion awards with my Frankenphones. If I had known they were so difficult to repair I wouldn't have purchased.

Great Sound and Tech, Questionable Build Quality

I grabbed them to use them for their 51st’ish hour of use ans the left ear piece snapped off as I was putting them on. I do not have a large head. I have owned and bought for others: XM2s, XM3s, and now these XM5s. I think Sony got it wrong with the structural change.

Better than what she had on her Xmas list

Eight months in, always lets me know how she really loves the headphones and how she really enjoys them and enjoys all the different sound settings. So happy with this purchase. And as she mentions she’s happy I bought them for her instead of the items she had on her Christmas list. She’s 16 years old 15 at the time of purchase.

Sound quality is good. But they make them with cheap parts then charge you top tier pricing. I had the xm4 headphones, they broke. So I upgraded to the xm5 thinking its a new model so they fixed the issue. Nope, they have the same issue with these. When I called Sony and told them that my new headphones broke in less than 5 months. They told me it wasn't covered and gave me a link to spend another $100 to get them fixed. What terrible customer service and what kind of company sells a product they know is faulty and then doesn't even have the decency to replace them when they break due to a known issue. Disgusting
