Lacks a bit of booming bass compared to my much older Beats Pro (before the apple merge). Noise cancelling is good, the dynamic mode leaves some room for improvement. Overall great set, nice and light on the head too. I'd say theyre $100 overpriced, given some of my $100-200 headphones are pretty close in terms of sound quality alone.

Love the sound quality. The noise canceling works great for me and I love there’s an ambient sound mode for when I need to pay attention to my surroundings. The headphones also have an app for complete customization and even includes customizing sound based on the way you wear them. Definitely recommend. My only very slight con is that they are sensitive to certain sounds and movements and I need to take a look at how to turn off the chimes because I prefer uninterrupted listening. Other than that, a great purchase.

I watched multiple YouTube reviews and was convinced this was the pair of headphones I wanted. Oh my goodness! These Sony XM 5’s are replacing a five year set of Bose. I didn’t think it would be possible to say an upgrade over Bose would be this dramatic, but it is! The noise canceling is excellent, and when you download the app and use the 360 Reality Audio, the sound is truly amazing! If you’re in the market, stop into Best Buy and give these a listen. I highly recommend these headphones.

The XM5 is a significant upgrade with a more refined and neutral sound. However, I don't notice much difference in the quality of noise cancelling, compared to the XM4. While the battery life remains impressive and the sound quality is still great, the noise cancelling feature is inconsistent. There are times when it feels too weak, and unfortunately, there's no way to adjust it to match its initial performance. The touch controls are more reliable compared to the XM4, but they tend to be overly sensitive. Honestly, considering my XM4 failed after just a year and the buggy experience these headphones offer, I'm likely to switch to Bose when these eventually give out.
