Amazing sound with "ok" noise cancellation

I can't describe these headphones with just one paragraph, so I'll split this review into parts. Let's start with sound: tight, punchy bass with bright highs. The mids are a little recessed and it can be noticed in Rock music, but I don't mind it. Overall very good sound and I can't complain at all. Just make sure to prioritize sound quality on the app and you'll be set. The build quality is typical Sony. Hard yet surprisingly flexible plastic everywhere and a metal headband. I don't see anything wrong with this as these headphones don't have the same fatal design flaw as the Xtra Bass series headphones at the headphone hangar. Comfort: these get really comfy after you use them for a bit. At first, they clamp your head and it can start to fatigue a little, but that disappears after a day or two of regular use. After that, it's great. The earcups can get a little warm after use, but that's expected with the material of the earpads. Battery life: too good. It's scary. I haven't once gone past 60% charge, and I use them every day for at least two hours, with an average of 5-6 hrs per day. I believe the 35 hr claim. The "fast" charging isn't that fast on them but it doesn't matter with the insane battery. The Bluetooth is very solid on these. AptX and AAC support is a warm welcome as they improve the sound quality over Bluetooth. They easily reach 30 ft of range even with walls in-between. Google Assistant integration is also a neat bonus, as it can read your notifications and do basically everything else on your Android phone. Noise Cancellation: These aren't the MX1000M3's. It only seems to cancel out low frequencies, and nothing else. Best for car rides and airplanes, or maybe blocking out air conditioning noise. That's it. Also, if you're in a windy location, turn it off as it will amplify wind noise. There's only two minor annoyences I have. First, they'll turn off if you unplug the 3.5mm cable while they're on (you can use them wired with NC on, which is neat). Second, they will ALWAYS turn on with NC enabled. It doesn't matter if NC was off the last time you used that. I will easily recommend these to people... If they can be gotten on sale. They were $99 for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and I've seen them go for $150. That's the sweetspot. They're 100% worth the money if you can get them at those prices.

How can you charge $120,00 for headphones without... upper treble sound at all? One of the worst... Has been returned to store within 15 minutes...

Disappointed that you can still hear people talking. Thought they cancelled noise?? Also, the directions are just a series of pictures like for a child. Had to go on-line and find more directions/information.

The sound quality has been fine. However, I experience several connectivity issues. After a month of so of use, I'm now unable to pair these with my iPhone and they just sitting collecting dust.

The sound reproduction quality to me is off the chart. The noise cancellation is fantastic. The comfort, fit and lightness are extraordinary. The battery life is phenomenal and the range is the best I have seen in a full size headphone. The ability to take calls and use your smart phone is wonderful feature.

I wanted this for muffling the noise of my lawn mower but it didn't help much. It might be good for other things but I'm just rating it low for what I needed it for.

    Best Phones I Have Owned

The sound is fantastic, full customization with the equalizer in the Headphone Connect app. The app is very useful but could use a little friendlier design layout. Not gonna knock a star because it works so well, even if a bit ugly. You can go without the app, but the app adds so much power to the phones, you need to install it. Quick charge is amazing. 10 minutes of charge gets an hour of playback. If you ran the battery out somehow, you are headphone king! These phones have 35 hours of life at full charge. Connecting to new/old phones is a breeze with built in NFC. I have not done a massive test of the mic, but it worked the one time I have used it quite well. AINC (Artificial Intelligence Noise Cancelling) works pretty well when you are playing something thru the phones. I would estimate it drowns 80-90% of background noise. Overall, these are just top notch from end to end. You can use them wired or wireless. The only warning, no case comes with them. It would be nice to include a case to protect such a nice set.

These headphones are easy to use and sound great. The noise cancellation works great and they are very comfortable. The battery life is outstanding... I can't imagine using them for the full charge before having the ability to recharge them. I really wish these came with a case, but I'll manage.

The noise cancelling feature is horrible, the headphones are stiff and uncomfortable to wear. I do like the feature where the headphones speak to you when you enable or disable noise cancelling and other functions.

So I've just received my Sony WH-CH700N Wireless Noise Canceling headphones and have been testing them out. These things are amazing. Sony did a really great job with the amount of clairty and bass that comes out of them. Connecting them via bluetooth to my iPhone and other mobile devices were pretty self explanatory. Included in the package is also an audio cable as well as a USB cable for charging. Sony also recommends that you download the companion Headphone app as well. The app allows you to tweak a few settings such as surround sound, equalizer, noise canceling, etc. The over-the-ear cuffs fit perfectly and noise canceling is amazing. Put these babies on and its like you're in your own world. The middle band expands for a more comfortable fit if necessary. And battery life is outstanding. I've been using my headphones all day and they are still going strong. I recommend these to anyone looking for a a nice quality-build, clear sounding set of headphones.

Very disappointed in these headphones. Use in an office setting and through toggling noise cancelling on and off, there seems to be no difference whatsoever between a simple set of headphones. Additionally they're uncomfortable making my ears hot and sweaty. Thankfully paid below $100 for these, but even the value proposition was not worthwhile. Money would have been better spent toward a higher end competing product.

To sum it up. I was not impressed with the noise canceling feature. My old Sony's (MDR-10RNC) were so much better. I ended up returning and buying the same old pair on ebay.

How come the sound is audible to the person sitting next to me..!! How can this happen? What about the privacy we need when we listen to the music.? Isn't it why we use the headphones? This is very disappointing.! I am trying to find a solution to this issue but no luck. I have to return this set.!!

I tried the Skullcandy Hesh 2 (after buying them), but the sound was muffled. I then tried the Hesh 3 in the store; same experience. I was looking to spend no more than $70 for a pair of decent headphones, just something that I can listen to my PS4 and not wake anyone in the house. I then stumbled across this Sony set in the store. Tried it out, and was quite impressed with the sound. You can definitely distinguish the treble from the bass. So, I bought a pair--on sale for $129--a bit over my budget. I got them home and was surprised at the additional features that I didn't know about. These headphones pair easily to my Samsung KS8000 TV and to my Samsung Galaxy S7. With TV pairing, all audio played through the TV including live TV, TV apps, PS4, PS3, etc. comes through the headphones. The surprise: there's a sony headphones app you download from the Apple or Android store that allows you to set additional listening features, such as a full-blown equalizer. Connect the headphones via bluetooth to your mobile device, set your listening experience, then disconnect. Meanwhile stay connected via bluetooth to the TV or whatever you may be listening to. From the EQ, you can also add bass boost. The app also shows battery strength. The noise cancelling is amazing. If i put these on without having any sound playing through them, it quiets everything else so well I can hear my heart beating. This is a major feature for me: I no longer hearing the central ac/heat, washing machine, nor the refrigerator running as I'm trying to use the TV. I mean it's amazing! At $129, these are priced just right. At $199, I never would have tried them...just too much out of price range. I'm not sure why there aren't more reviews. To me, this was a hidden gem!
