Awesome sound for such a small speaker. great bass and great highs. great all around speaker. fills a whole room with sound.

My son wanted a speaker to par with his phone for his 8th grade graduation. I must say the sound is great, I love the bass and the addition of the lights changing color and going off and one to the music,unbelievable !! BEST THING I ever purchased for him!!! Thanks SONY. (thinking of buying one for me!)

I bought this when it was on sale for $99, at discount from $150. I ended up with blue because that is all they had in stock. I listened to all three - the 20, 30, and 40. There was a huge difference between the 20 and 30 ($20 price delta), and a minor difference between the 30 and 40 ($100 price delta) so I picked the 30. It has a aux input that I have connected to my 27" iMac, sounds great with a touch more bass and fullness. I bluetooth to my phones, android devices you can just walk up to it and NFC pairing works great, IOS devices take a little more work. I adjusted the sound settings in the app to remove some of the bass and add more treble to flatten the sound. I should actually measure the response to bring the sound more to my liking. Battery life is great, and it works while charging. Footprint is slightly larger than some of the other devices but not overkill like the 40 or some JBL models. Sound quality is ok, good for price but not sonos quality.

I especially like that the unit links with my phone easily and then turns off easily also. Sometimes, other Bluetooth speakers take a long while to connect. Not this one! The added base boost is pretty cool... and then finally the water resistant feature is key.

I needed a small portable speaker so I could take my music or TV show with me wherever I go in my apartment. The Sony XB30 Bluetooth portable speaker is fabulous! The sound with or without the extra bass is terrific. And the disco lights bring a smile to my face every time!

My kids have other “higher end” brands of these type speakers but I’d put this one against them any day. Great sound both indoors and outdoors. Pairs in seconds with easy to understand controls. The lightshow is a decent bonus as well. Long battery life too. Recommend!

Best Bluetooth speaker I’ve owned so far, and I’ve had about 6 different brands. It gets pretty loud, battery lasts a long time. Cool lighting effect with the option to turn it off and great bass. Also comes with an app to set it the way you prefer. Would buy again.

with 24hr battery and usb charging in back, no one else has that for the price that sony is at. I purchased a chromecast audio to attach to this speaker as well for around the home with my google home speaker. i have used this speaker at beach outside and indoors already, works awesome, speakers are protected from being pushed in or punctured. can chain up to 10, i have 3 models i use when i have a big party.
