Many appreciate the 4K resolution and find the upscaling capabilities to be excellent, resulting in a great viewing experience even with non-4K content. Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the reviews and researched before buying this tv. Upon delivery, the tv looked awesome and the picture was great right out of the box. The size is awesome. However, once I started watching it is when the problems began. Regular full screen programming was phenomenal. Once you watch a movie or anything in letterbox format is where it becomes unwatchable. The backlight bleed is so horrendous in the corners, the tv becomes unwatchable, as that is all you will concentrate on. For something this price and it being 2016, I would expect a solution to have occurred by now. You basically have unsymmetrical huge white clouds in the corners from the light bleed. I thought maybe it was something I could learn to live with, but then I decided I didn't pay $2500 to have to learn to live with something. I had to go through the huge undertaking of taking it off of my wall and returning to the store. I pulled the trigger on a 65 in OLED and have absolutely zero regrets in having to pay an extra $800. Totally worth it. Sony used to have a flawless reputation when it came to tv's, but this garbage they are putting together and throwing out there is unacceptable.

Good TV, but ultimately took it back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For some this TV will knock it out of the park. Colors are good, blacks are ok. I ultimately decided to return it due to fact, no matter how I tweaked it, the faces always looked washed out. TV did have quite a bit of light bleed on the sides from the edge lit. Have had Samsung tv's for the last few, going to give the Vizio P75 a whirl with full array backlighting. I think overall this was a good tv, it just kind of looked blurry at times off our directv feed--not action scenes, just news, sitcoms, etc. Tv did handle motion scenes very well. I am wating on the Vizio to arrive, if it does not improve things, I would go back to this one or try the Samsung 7100

Good TV. Don’t use Apple TV with it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony HATES Apple TV. Weekly if not daily “Red dot of doom”. Yes, the software is updated. GREAT TV. Picture, color, wonderful. It however won’t work with one of the top streaming platforms in the US. It will for a bit - then it DIES. Red light of death. Total reset.

Best 75 inch TV for the Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking at TV's for over a year and kept coming back to 75-850D when it showed up on the Black Friday Ad I bought it! I don't know how else to say it but other Big TV's give me Eye Fatigue. Once you get them home they are too bright. This Sony has most of the latest features and the picture quality is in my opinion the BEST

Best of all - Maplewood Customer Service..!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV and Great Value, but the real story here is the customer service. The sales associate, Tyler, is incredible. Whenever I show up at the store he remembers my name, where I work and what I've bought in the past. He and his manager Eugene are the reason I don't even consider shopping at other stores. Not only would I recommend this product, but I would recommend buying form Maplewood - Job well done..!!!

great overall tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.had to do some adjusting to get a good picture. have had samsung tvs for a while now and they seem to have the overly bright picture and almost fake colors they are so bright so took a while to get this to where my gf thought it was an acceptable picture. Biggest complaint is not a whole lot of info for wall hanging this everything in the instructions was for the 940/930 tvs

Buggy software, Low contrast, Bad remote Design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been researching on 4k Sony, LG and Samsung (UN78JS9100), but I bought xbr-75x850D on 4th of July sales due its HDR. I knew it has IPS panel with no local dimming, but the contrast is still way lower than my expectation in comparison with my 2 years old Samsung and I had to push the brightness to MAX and picture mode to vivid to see some details in dark pictures, which still not as bright and vivid as Samsung! But the major problem is software and firmware. First of all, I cannot pair it with iphone bluetooth to play my music! The second major problem and the deal breaker is the cast to device option which doesn't keep the proper aspect ratio for HD videos! It stretches the video to full screen which ruins my whole HD movie database! Even the picture options on "Action Menu" is broken and buggy and doesn't do anything. This is a known bug since Dec 2015 and so many people have complained about it, but Sony not taking any action, and no ETA for the fix, so I'm not expecting it ever gets fixed. If I knew they were going to fix it with following fireware update I still could take it, but based on other customers feedback it's not going to happen http://goo.gl/NmWDGw http://goo.gl/r3YwKC http://goo.gl/IrgpBb It's a deal breaker for me, Samsung can cast to device seamlessly. If you're looking for a TV that acts as a media center for you and you can stream your contents from your PC or tablet to it, this is not the right option. But, if you just want to watch washed out regular cable channels, you can live with it. As a last touch, remote control stops working very frequently, you need to wait around 30 seconds for it to become responsive again once it goes into that bad state.. I believe this is firmware issue again. Also, the navigation on menu is such that you keep pressing the surrounding buttons since 4 inner circle ones are very close to 4 outer circle ones.

Terrible customer service, ARC does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything was working well for the first 4 months and then the audio to the Bowers and Wilkins Panorama2 died. Went to the local Magnolia store who sent out technicians with a new Sound Bar only to find out that the TV is the problem I was told that for the TV, I would have to call Sony for any repairs. Spent 3 hours on the phone with Sony Tech service and at the end, they finally agreed to send a tech out as they said there is a problem with Audio Return Channel. I received a call a few days later stating that the parts are on back order. 3 weeks later, the parts were finally in. Trying to schedule a time for the repair is very difficult. Basically 10AM-1PM window Monday through Friday. Tech was supposed to come today after i took the day off from work. I received a call at 9:30AM saying he couldn't make it as the other tech was not certified. The TV is too heavy for one man to work on. This is after I pulled the TV off the wall mount. Now it's sitting on the floor waiting for repair. I guess I'll have to take another day off! Good luck!!

Buyer Beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Sony TV in Aug 2016. Having problems from day 1. Overall TV panel image is good, but the motion interpolation is terrible. My 5-year old Samumg SmartTV does a better job with motion interpolation than this "state of the art" Sony. Very frustrating to see judder on panning motion shots across all video inputs (Direct TV, Apple TV, Netflix, direct internet connection, etc.). Choppy scene transitions, choppy panning motion, choppy transitions in various video formats. Simply unacceptable. I have contacted Sony customer support and they do not know what they are doing. The Sony reps merely read pre-scripted prompts on how to perform a factory TV settings reset or TV software update, that's it. I have done it all (factory settings resets, software updates, changed motion interpolation settings per the Rtings website suggestions, played with a variety of different TV settings) and nothing works. Motion judder on TV shows, sports, and streaming content. Wish me luck in trying to get a replacement TV from Sony. They are telling me that everything is working fine and that I am "imagining" things should be better. Don't waste your money on this product. Go with a Samsung instead.

Light bleed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the beginning the tv was great. Then it started to get light bleed in the corners Best Buy fought with Sony and it was replaced now the replacement tv is doing the same thing it started out about the size of a quarter now it looks like someone is holding a flashlight in each of the corners very visible during dark movies and shows

super bowl disappointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV for my Super Bowl party. Set it up Sunday looking forward to showing it off to my friends. Hooked it up. Turned it on and for 20 minutes it was great. Then it just switched off. Two calls to Sony (they were very professional & helpful) they determined the six blinking lights meant it had to be replaced. Ended up watching the Big Game on the old TV. Very disappointing!!! Taking it back to Best Buy this Friday. Not sure if I'll get a Sony replacement or try a different brand.
