Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the XBR X850D Series 75" TV's picture quality, ease of use, and vibrant colors. Many appreciate the 4K resolution and find the upscaling capabilities to be excellent, resulting in a great viewing experience even with non-4K content. However, some users have noted issues with the remote control's responsiveness and contrast in dark scenes. While the design is generally praised, a few customers mentioned the TV's weight as a potential drawback.

Failed after 2.25 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the last of the older Sony 65x850A (the "A") version of this TV. Now, the backlight went out and the red light blinks 4 times after 2 years and 3 months (purchased 7/24/14). This replaced a $3000 Samsung ($3600 w/tax and warranty) that only lasted 18 months but I bought a warranty for the Samsung. Problem with the Warranty is I could not pick another TV from Magnolia and had to get reimbursed the amount of a TV with similar specifications from the normal selection of TVs, not Magnolia. The warranty totaled out the $3600 TV and just reimbursed me with a BestBuy gift card for $1840.24, 18 months later. If TVs have a 1% failure rate in the first 6 months after the factory warranty runs out, what happened to me with 2 TVs going bad within 6 months of warranty running out should only occur to 0.01% of customers. My other two low cost (under $1100) LCD LED TVs are still going, just the expensive Magnolia TVs are not working.

5 Weeks In Having Issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV was great out of the box. Twice at about 5 weeks old, the TV would not turn on. I had to unplug the TV and plug it back in to get it to turn on. When it came back on, it was very dim. Turning it off and back on seemed to fix that issue. I will update this review as needed. TV is plugged into a APC UPS so power is not an issue.

Tried twice and both tvs defective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the phone with geek squad now about returning this second tv and trying a third and final one. First one had backlight brightening and dimming issues as it would do it randomly while watching hi res content and second tv has severe light bleed from left top and bottom corners. I like the total package that sony offers BUT IM TIRED OF DEFECTIVE TVS!!!!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest, this flat screen was not what i was expecting, I received 3 of these sony 75 inch x850d's and all of them had severe clouding, light bleeding and banding issues my second set even had a dead pixle, all i ever owned was sony t.v's. Im fairly disappointed, to say the least.

Terrible TV, works when it wants to
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible TV. Loses connectivity for no good reason. Decides to work on its own good time - if you like to tinker and potentially understand the inner workings of electronic devices - this TV is for you. If you just like a box that turns on and off when you want it to and displays the information you want it to, strong pass on this or any other SONY smart tv from what I can tell.

Poor picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a previous reviewer stated the picture quality and clarity is milky and not crisp, clear, and defined. The Geek Squad is coming back out tomorrow to check it out. They made the initial setup of the TV and system but tuned it more to ESPN rather than regular HD TV programing. The signal from Comcast is not the issue as we have a 60" Vizio in the lanai and a 45" Samsung in the kitchen with better picture quality and clarity than our super duper 4K HDR 75" Sony. If they can't get our concerns resolved to at least match the picture quality of the much cheaper and much maligned Vizio brand it is going back to the store. What a major disappointment after having two Sharp 70" TV's fail in less than three years !!!

Mr
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this TV if you are a Comcast customer. It took me a few weeks but I found there is a known issue between Sony android TV's and Comcast X1 service. Of course it takes time to find out this information so I am beyond the return time. Sony and Comcast are aware of the problem and blame each other leaving you to hold the bag!

Garbage - Don't Buy Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my LAST Sony purchase. Good initially, but after 2 years and no longer under warranty, vertical lines appeared which means the screen is shot. I paid $3000 for the tv which was originally $5000. The tv is only about 8 months out of warranty, and sony was unwilling to stand behind their product, even such an expensive one. Essentially they said "Be careful throwing it in the trash."
