Running Two in Stereo - Awesome Sound.

I initially had one of these and it sounded great! Then I bought another one so I could run them in Stereo. Using the simple Sony App, I configured two of these to run in Stereo and it was absolutely a game changer. One is great, two is AWESOME! My entire patio filled with perfect sound, and it felt like I was in the middle of a concert hall.

If you never heard a JBL, this would be fine

I'm cheap. My license plate reads I AM CODO. Codo is a Spanish slang word for cheap (it literally translates to the skin on your elbow that is really tight when you bend it (get it? tight, tightwad, cheap...)). So when I found this speaker on sale for $199.00 I thought I had to have it. It sounded okay on the demo stand next to an Ultimate Ears Hyperboom, had LED lights, a good app and a smoking deal of a price. However, it just wasn't loud enough for me as I often go to the beach, our community pool and the river. Whenever you're outdoors and blasting music, you lose a lot of volume when you don't have walls to bounce the sound off of. The passive radiators on the side of the Sony need something to bounce the bass off of to really produce decent bass. The mids and highs aren't as bright as I would have liked and that contributed to the lower perceived sound volume (the brighter the treble, the louder the speaker naturally seems). Don't get me wrong, this speaker sounds good. But for me, it just wasn't loud enough. And then, when I compared it to a JBL Boombox 3, it was no contest. The Sony app is much better than the JBL app, with a better EQ function and more customization (you can even control the lighting from the app). The lighting, by the way, was just too gimicky for me as you really can't see it unless you are on the side. The sale price would have kept me a fan if I never heard the JBL. But once I did, price didn't matter as much as sound, volume and bass.

It's important to note that while the speaker is physically capable of outdoor use, the sound performance can vary depending on the specific outdoor environment, including factors such as wind, background noise, and open spaces, which may affect the perceived loudness. By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission. • While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. • If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below. 1. Turn off the speaker. 2. Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.
