Q: Can this unit be left in the sun or does it need to be in shade?
A: I have used the speaker outdoors poolside, and at the beach without any problems.
Q: I was wondering if it can be paired with other devices for example a subwoofer?

However, this speaker has party connect feature which lets you connect up to 100 compatible* wireless speakers via Bluetooth . Q: Better for battery life to leave plugged in while using the majority of time or not?
A: It is fine to leave plugged in as you can set it up to save on the internal battery through the Sony Music app. Also I use mine both on power for a louder sound and battery which is a little less of an impact but still sounds great.
Q: Does this have a built-in mic for hands free phone operations?
