The Dreams of Music Collide In My Speaker!

When this speaker first came out, I was researching it, and finally decided to go into Best Buy and test it. I played the demo songs and immediately loved it! I was deciding between this and the JBL speaker, but I picked this one because it’s much bigger, more weight to lift, and the speaker on the sides lights up colors! When I connect it to my IPad Pro it automatically connects you, just hit the power button on the speaker and then hit the Bluetooth button the buttons light up and I see there is an option for MegaBass! I didn’t use that feature or test it due to being indoors in the house and neighbors above me, so I do not use that feature! When I bought my speaker it was brand new in the store and the box was well packaged good as new. So when I got home I was excited and slowly started taking pictures and as soon as I tested it was “Awesome!” Very Loud and the speaker booms along with the music! In the future if I need another speaker or anything I would definitely buy this again or something just like it that is a new release and just like this one!

Best speaker ever!!

This is the best portable Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever heard! The bass is incredible plus I can plug my guitar into it and play solo or over a backing track from my phone, I even use it as a soundbar in my room for the tv, the battery life is just as advertised: 30hrs!! I never need to play it on full volume very often so it lasts forever for me. This speaker exceeded my expectations!

Purchased XG300 1st loved it so much! I had to get this XG500 Sound quality is amazing love the rugged material speaker is made of. Water resistant with colorful lights that dance with the bass. This speaker really gets the party going !Can’t live without my radio;)

Almost too good

Sound quality is so good on this speaker you can definitely tell when the quality of streaming music starts to drop off. I’ve thought it blew a driver a couple of times but it just ended up being song quality. The highs, mids and lows come in nice and clean the mega bass function is ridiculous and stays true to its name. Loud enough for my small shop but not loud enough to upset my neighbors. Battery life is excellent for how large it is.

Sony is almost perfect

Seems to be missing certain frequencies but when I added 2 xb23’s using party connect I got full range audio. Ordered 2 more xb23’s for a full surrounding and immersive audio experience. This is more for outdoor use for ones with a smart home as wifi interference will occur typically when using a mobile device to stream your audio. I have yet to try using an audio cable so can’t say for sure. This speaker would be 5 stars if it had a full range of audio and didn’t need to add speakers to get a full range audio experience.

By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you can actually fine tune the sound of your XG500 to your liking. Custom EQ enables adjustments of levels for each frequency band. There is a built in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble. Also, thanks for purchasing two XB23 speakers. Excellent sound and long lasting battery. First I thought it was going to sound and don’t even have any bass but it was otherwise now I am planning it get second one To make it even louder because we live parties and Sony is one of the greatest sound system and phone producer .

Sony’s latest product

Let’s just say I was looking for a decent wireless speaker. The speakers sound is a plus. The connections in the back are a plus the door that conceals them is not is does not like to stay put it just falls off. If you have something connected to the ports it is easily put back though. Also this speaker announces its battery life every time you turn it on. The battery life is ok about 4.5 hrs. As far a bass it is just ok to me

Decent speaker, needs improvements.

Overall good speaker and worth the pri e if in sale. Sound is a little heavy on mid range, even if the bass boost is off. It is very heavy for a portable speaker. My last major issue is the sub baffles on either end are unprotected. They arent the actual speakers but do need to move to create the passive bass. I purchased speaker grills and attached to both ends.

Centerpiece of your next party!

This Sony Bluetooth speaker is amazing! Great for get togethers, parties or just plain wanting to listen to something where ever you are at. Went over to my neighbors since he has a pool to grill out and chill. 30 hours on a full charge is most than great and the carrying handle makes it super portable. In the box comes with the speaker itself, power cord and charging brick and also the usual paperwork regarding instructions and warranty. They do recommend downloading 2 apps, Fiestable and Sony's Music Center. Fiestable lets you add to the party playlist and lets your phone or whatever device your using emit light linked to nearby speaker. Music Center gives you more options directly to the speaker itself like RGB Light settings and an EQ for your personal settings. Speaker is IP66 rated for being water resistance and dustproof (as long as all ports are securely closed. Mesh fabric itself repels water nicely when I was using at the pool. Though the speaker itself has all the buttons most commonly used like power, BT, play, pause, volume and Mega Bass, I actually preferred just using my phone and personal EQ settings. Btw using EQ disables Mega Bass but just turn up the bass in the sliders for bass, mid and treble and you'll get the same performance. Other than BT pairing, you can directly plug into the speaker using 3.5mm Audio Jack and/or USB (and it charges your device too). I don't have a guitar so I couldn't try out that option it comes with but I did have a mic and tried that out. Also can check the status of the battery level from the covered controls in the back as well as lights. There is also Party Connect that allows for multiple speaker connections to create a daisy chain of music for parties but you have to make sure the speakers are compatible with each other. RGB rings adds a fun touch to the speaker. Using the Music Center app you can change not only the style of lighting (solid, flashing, phasing, etc) but also many different colors too. Can leave it solid colors or just go ham with rainbow explosions everywhere. Sound quality is great and can get SUPER loud with no distortions at all! You can use a bunch of presets depending on the music playing or like me, use your own EQ settings. Bass is deep and heavy without overpowering the music. In the end, this all-in-one party speaker exceeds everything I am used to in a portable speaker. Multiple input options, weather resistant, amazing sound, guitar amp, mic for karaoke and eye pleasing light candy. Sony hit a home run with this and I highly recommend.

Pretty sweet bluetooth speaker that's consistent with Sony quality. Initially I was taken back a bit by the size of this speaker. Most speakers are relatively small and easily portable in a bag or something. This one is quite beefy in size/weight. It measures about 18 inches wide and 11 inches tall. It weighs about 12 pounds so it's got some heft to it. Definitely something you won't be putting in your back/suitcase but still portable. The appearance of the speaker is really minimalist. There's a couple buttons on top for power, volume and Mega Bass options and that's it. The I/O port on the back is covered with a rubber plug and has all the ports. There's USB ports, audio in as well as buttons to turn on/off the lights and check battery level. The speaker is IP66 water/dust repellent so it's perfect for taking with you on trips. The cloth covering on the speaker is also pretty cool and looks great. The sound of this speaker is fantastic. I really like the Mega Bass feature in all of Sony speakers/headphones and this one definitely lives up to that lineage. The highs/mids are crisp and as they should be. The bass on this speaker is really impressive which I love. The bass can handle all the thumping and booming bass notes easily all without drowning out the highs/mids. That, and this speaker can get loud which is a bonus. This is the perfect speaker to bring along with you on a fishing trip or to the beach. Higher volumes on this speaker sound good without too much distortion. There is a companion app you can download for this speaker however it's not required. Personally, I didn't find much value in the app itself. It allows you to control playlists, lights as well as works with the karaoke function on this speaker. I don't do karaoke so I probably won't ever use this feature but the speaker has inputs for that if that's your thing. I found it much easier to pair with the bluetooth on my phone (iPhone) and using the player for controlling the music. Overall, this is a great party speaker that can handle the elements as well as the music.
