superb sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this speaker sounds fantastic I been going through so many bluetooth speakers and this is the one very accurate sound the bass is good it gets loud enough but its not crazy loud if you know good sound like me then you'll love this speaker the build quality is very nice the lights have a very nice color and the battery life is amazing so far this is the best bluetooth speaker I have heard everything sounds like it should lots of other bluetooth speakers don't have accurate sound any one who has super audiophile headphones like me will understand what I mean by accurate sound I could listen to this speaker all day long so euphoric.

From the beach to the pool side take the party were where you go. This unit is small and easy to carry with the built-in handle. And the sound quality is outstanding. It has been rained on and splashed sitting next to the pool and still works great. I have been using it for about a week a few hours a day on the same charge. It has lights that flash with the music that’s neat to play with for a bit. All in all you get big sound from a small portable speaker I love it.

Sometimes bigger is better

I've owned a lot of great portable bluetooth speakers, and they've all been able to fit in a bag or backpack to carry around. This speaker is the size of a traditional boom box, and is not super light either. Then I connected it to my phone and played some music. This speaker definitely reaches heights that most little bluetooth speakers can't. The loudness of the speaker easily filled my whole downstairs and the bass was definitely felt throughout the house. The sound quality was great and didn't distort at all for how loud it was. I had a block party the next day and used this outside, and everybody was impressed. It definitely provided great sounding music up and down the street. The Fiestable and Sony Music Center apps provide some cool features that kept me and my kids busy for hours (although I'm not sure why there are two separate apps that Sony tells you to download. All the Fiestable features are available in the Sony Music Center app and then some so I don't use the Fiestable app. Maybe the Fiestable features won't work in the Music Center app if you don't download it, but it seems silly.). My kids had a blast with the lighting and DJ features, which allows you to create some pretty cool remixes of your favorite songs. I also hooked up a microphone and used the karaoke mode, which does a great job of dimming the vocals so your voice can be heard clearly (for better of for worse, for worse in my case). All in all, a great speaker with a lot of cool features. I don't envision me lugging this speaker along on an everyday basis, but I use it all over the place at home and in the backyard. And it's great for outdoor events.

The life of the apartment pool party

It has much better sound, then her other two portables, which are high end name brands. She keeps raving about the bass and uses it at the apartment's pool, and it outperforms all of her neighbor's portables so they leave theirs at home and uses her Sony.

Posted .Hi Mary, We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your SRSXG500. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. For this, Turn off the speaker and charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

Awesome sounding extremely portable large speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not a huge fan of Sony’s other big Bluetooth speakers they look more like giant PA speakers. When I first saw this speaker from Sony I honestly did not think it would be that big. It’s design is very similar to smaller style Bluetooth speakers especially with the handle and shape of the actual speaker. So when I finally got it I was shocked how big it is. It was massive compared to what I thought it would be but still extemely portable. And the sound is just great. No matter what I threw at it sounded great. I was able to have it on in the backyard while my kids ran around and screamed outside all day. The battery life is fantastic and the sound is great. If your looking for something to use outside near a pool or a bbq I cannot recommend anything other than this Sony speaker.

The elegant non garish design (looking at you ‘other brands) instantly made me want it on the spot. A very nice gentleman from Sony named Manny happened to be there and we got to talking about it! Needless to say I bought it. The price is actually very reasonable. Undercuts the competitors nicely. Also the sound of the MEGABASS. OHHH THE MEGABASS. If you like bass… This is great. Also the sound is balance and fairly tweakable. Overall I love my Sony XG500!

Follow the troubleshooting steps below if your Bluetooth® speaker is having any of the following sound issues: No Sound, Low Sound, Sound from only one speaker.
Check that both this system and the connected device are turned on.
Turn up the volume of the system and the connected device.
Check that the connected device is being played back.
Check that both ends of the audio connecting cord are firmly inserted into the system and the connected device.
If you are connecting a personal computer to the system, make sure the audio output setting of the computer is set for a BLUETOOTH device.
Pair this system and the BLUETOOTH device again.
If the connected device is monaural (mono), the sound will only be output from the left speaker.

It recommend to set the unit to "Priority on sound quality” which enables you to perform playback settings of, not only SBC, but also AAC and LDAC, so that you can enjoy high quality sound via BLUETOOTH connection. Great solution for outdoor music
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had probably 20 portable bluetooth speakers and 10 of those have been designed for use outdoors. The side-firing subwoofers combined with the barrel shape and sturdy handle make this accomplish the outdoor sound task in style and with great performance. It was easy to setup, and I downloaded the recommended apps to control the lighting and EQ. I'm not a huge audiophile, but I do recognize when something sounds light and then struggles with accurate reproduction at louder volumes. This unit sounds great at all volumes and can get very loud. The lighting is neat and I'm sure will be a fun trick for parties. Testing with a variety of music and different lighting / EQ modes for each style offers some fun possibilities. If you've been struggling to find something modern that offers similar sound and form factor to the boom boxes of previous eras, this is a great place to end up.

It seems silly that lights on the side of the speaker synced to the bass hits would add so much to the experience, but it does. I used this speaker all day during a pool party and didn’t have to worry about the sound being too low, wires, or the speaker getting water damaged. The only down side is the size because it is fairly large. However the carrying handle is sturdy and if you want big sound you need a big speaker. I foresee many pool and beach parties with this awesome speaker.
