Excellent phone for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from another brand's flagship to this mid-range because of issues. Calls are very clear on both ends. I was concerned that the snapdragon 630 and 3gb ram would feel sluggish compared to the 820 with 4gb ram I had previously. However, everything that I have done on this phone as fast, if not faster than on my previous phone. I went from a 4k display to this one (HD), and I don't notice the difference. Note that I do not play games on the phone. I'm sure it would handle all games except for the most graphic/cpu intensive ones. This phone is thicker than others, but it doesn't impact use, and feels sturdy in your hand. I actually prefer it to some thinner phones. The camera is great in bright-light situations, but let's face it, no phone is going to be excellent in low-light. The dedicated camera button can be half-pressed to focus, a feature very appreciated. For the price, you cannot beat this phone. NFC and headphone jack are a nice bonus. I am very happy some Sony phones can now be used on Verizon. I am under 30 and work in IT, this is an excellent product.

Bang for buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this phone on Verizon, switched from a iPhone 6s, and I don't regret it at all. This phone is extremely well built (I expect nothing less from Sony.) Overall this feels like a $500+ phone that costs around $300. The features are great with the main draw back being the finger print scanner. The screen and touches respond extremely quick and the 1080 HD screen is the best I've seen on a phone. The battery life is actually amazing. Can go all day long and probably longer on a single charge. The looks and build materials make me think this is not just any ordinary $300 phone but a expensive luxury phone. The Verizon service works like a dream although you have to wait for all the updates when you unbox the phone, but really worth the wait. Sony continues to provide great quality products and I really wish their phones we're more popular.

Too bad not a reliable phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is a very nice looking phone, a little thick but a good trade off for the battery life. Specs, camera, screen are all great for the price. For the price point not going to find a nicer looking or spec'd phone, however it is unreliable for receiving phone calls. Every few days I would have a call that never rings or shows up in the dialer. Only way I knew had a call is people calling me let me know or just by getting a voicemail. Thought this might be a carrier issue, took to Tmobile, all settings correct yet they got me a new SIM anyway. STill issues. Ok, thought had to be the phone and I really liked so exchanged it for another. This time did not install any other launchers etc to make sure that was not an issue. After a week had 2 more calls not come through, had SMS app lock on me a few times so I just gave up on it. Same sim card works fine in an Iphone SE and a cheapo MotoG5plus. Too bad as I liked the "not" phone.

Solid phone, good speed, superior back camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using my XA2 for two weeks now. The chip set is very fast, and the wide screen (for a compact phone) has beautiful color in multiple modes. The wifi and bluetooth reception are also much better than my previous phone. The construction feels solid, and I like the silver's look. Hard to find cases/protectors (impossible at Best Buy), but those available fit well because the button layout is all on one side. Good phone for one-hand typing/use, and I love the camera shutter button on the side. Intuitive screens and setup. Easy and quick to navigate in. Only hassle is the text messaging app that is already installed. It does not label each bubble with date or time - - only the first bubble you send or receive in a day. Annoying, and Sony Mobile and Sony Experia customer service reps were unhelpful about fixing it. Neither knew what to do, although one lady did get me to reset all apps which erased my email and wifi passwords but did nothing for the text messaging/SMS/MMS app. She also said, after the reset failed to help, that she would email me instructions. Never did, neither by email nor by text although she asked for and received both email address (which she should have had from my registration) and phone number (which she already had from the call).

What a great phone! Wonderful surprise!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was gifted this phone by my husband for my birthday 3 weeks ago. I was tired of my my 2 year old iPhone SE. Wanted something slightly bigger and since I used Chrome on iPhone i asked for a Android after 7 years with Apple. Smooth processor is amazing. Battery gets me almost thru 2 days with moderate use! Camera is SUPERB! Screen is perfect size and sharpness. I am so happy he did not get me a $700 phone. For the $350 he paid this is the best deal in mobile I believe!

Down!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To make it as easy as possible and not to be confused about the phones of the two of us, my wife and me, we bought two XA2's unlocked in April 2018! Now I have to go back because one phone is down every morning with an empty battery! Not what I expected from SONY! And the expectations about THE Sony lens are way too high. I had other brands before and these cameras were much better! Close-ups, panorama, weak light conditions, the Sony camera is the worst I had! Sorry to say it that clear, but I expected more!

Bad Call Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The call quality is bad. Box does not include a head phone as well. Don't waste your money on this. Can think of this device as more like of a digital camera rather than a phone! I'd never recommend this phone to anybody.

No support from Sony for well known issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone uses a proximity sensor to know when you are talking on the phone and darken the screen. Only problem is it has a very low range so if you try to use the phone without hands (ie pressed into your shoulder) and it slips about a half inch away from your ear or face, the screen comes back on. I constantly hang up on people, put them on hold, and mute myself. This is the only phone I have ever had this issue on and many others do if you peruse their support forums. The issue has been known for well over half a year with absolutely no fix or even acknowledgement the problem exists.

DEAD In 4 Weeks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First it started shutting on & off every time I went to my girlfriends house. Every place else it worked fine and now today it is completely dead. Never dropped it, Never got it wet, it just died. I haven't even taken the factory stickers off it yet. Unbelievable waste of money! Will never buy a Sony again!
