    More of the same

Game is pretty much like the rest. Nice to see an updated version for the new consoles, but it also doesn't seem to add much. Also, charging for a character that has been in the previous games just feels wrong. I can understand for new characters, but not existing ones...

I've always been a fan of the soul calibur series in terms of gameplay. However, the game is so bare-bones to what it can initially offer. Everything else you have to pay extra. Graphics is also a bit of a let down.

It’s a great game don’t let the haters tell you other wise. The use of drawings instead of cutscenes is weird and the selection of characters could have been better but that’s the only complaint

This is still a worthwhile franchise that has good fighting mechanics and a couple nice modes to chose from. Just wish they had a few more characters, as some of other fighting games. But still a nice addition to add the Witcher. Try this for sure.

The folks at Bandai Namco have done a great job reinventing this series. The new combat mechanics are fun and lead to a more epic feeling fight. Create a soul mode is deep, feeling almost akin to a WWE game.

Starts out kinda boring having to make your own character, but if u into that u will luv this area of the game. I personally don't have time to play campaigns because I just work too much and wanted something to just pick up and enjoy playing quick fights

Soul Calibur returns in great shape. It's good to have a game with varied fighters each with a different weapon. The design of the game is very good and it's a lot of fun to play the different modes.

I have sworn off Soul Calibur after 3. It got stale. I played the other ones at other people's homes, and it was confirmed. After trying out six, with it's new mechanics, I must say that I am enjoying this very much so. It pretty looking too.

If you liked ANY of the Soul Calibur games before this one, you'll probably love this. The create a character based story is satisfying. Geralt is a great addition. Definitely buy if you're contemplating

Big downgrade again in graphics this generation

What happened this time? Soul Calibur 5 on Xbox 360 was one of the most graphically impressive games of the last generation. The backgrounds on that one were amazing especially given the limitations of the platform. The color was vibrant and that game could have passed for an Xbox one/PS4 release. This time around you get muddy and extremely blurry backgrounds on the newer superior hardware. They really are boring and some times they look like they are not even made from polygons kind of like how Virtua Fighter 2 looked on Sega Saturn. However, VF2 on Saturn's backgrounds weren't blurry. They were sharp and vibrant. Just look at the water on some of the stages for Soul Calibur 6. That is some of the most unimpressive water you'll see on this generation or last generation. Let's talk about the gameplay. The gameplay is inferior to Soul Calibur 4 and 5 because the graphics just look so blurry and unsatisfying. It seems like this game was a rush job or the programmers just aren't fit for using the Unreal engine. They sure added alot of DLC though. The sound effects aren't satisfying either. What happened to the days where you could feel the oomph in the attacks? Games like Street Fighter 3 and Streets of Rage 2 had some impressive sounds effects that made you feel the impact. It seems like game designers have forgotten how to make games that sound like that anymore. This subpar effort follows the trend of legendary fighting franchises that had inferior releases this generation. Just look at Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, Tekken, Gundam Vs, King of Fighters, Virtual On. They all were better last generation. Especially, artistically all those franchises were more pleasing last generation. Can Samurai Showdown break the trend? Hopefully, since last generation's Samurai Showdown was horrible to begin with. This game probably didn't sell as well as 4 and 5 which means it could be the final chapter in the game series. But it's a horrible way to end a legendary franchise which has always excelled in graphics and gameplay until now. The first Soul Calibur is available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One backwards compatibility. It still holds up today with its incredible animation, classic music and fun gameplay. This new one unfortunately won't hold up for a fraction of that time.

This game brought back most of the old characters from the series' first 2 games and injected it with modern mechanics, meters, bars, super moves, and of course DLCs. Overall, it still feels like the older SoulCalibur games which is a good thing.

While better than Soul Caliber V (which is a low bar, let's be honest), it's still not a great game and it's pretty obvious why it's scene has died off. Good game with some fun times to be had though don't expect a whole lot.

This is a long standing favorite fighting series. I love these games and this is no exception. 3d and sans-gruesome blood even with all those weapons. Enjoy battling it out!

I really do like this game, but the online multiplayer ranked allows you to use custom characters and honestly, some of them and their rediculous hitboxes are a joke.

Haven't played Soul Calibur in a long time. Namco tweaked an already great weapons based fighting game. Let's see if Samurai Showdown will give it a run for it's money.

If you're a long time Soul Caliber player then you'll want to play this one too. I'm a little disappointed at how rough she of the edges of the characters, textures, and stages look, but overall I'm liking it

Great game. Plenty of single panther value but the fact that you need to buy DLC to truly use the create a character is disappointing. That’s my only gripe. Graphics , gameplay and story all great.
