I have the documentary, and I thought it was really good, so I bought the album. About a handful of songs that I liked, but there are some artists not featured on the album that were in the documentary. Not bad, overall

Great soundtrack to the Sound City documentary. Most songs sound like Foo Fighters backing the lead singer du jour. And that is a good thing. This package reminds me of Dave Grohl's "Probot" project from a few years back. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll enjoy the soundtrack. If you didn't see the movie, you would still like this if you are a Dave Grohl fan

What a fantastic documentary. Sure it helps if you're already a fan but if you're not, you'll still enjoy this vastly entertaining documentary about the Sound City recording studio and all of the legendary albums recorded there. Is there nothing Dave Grohl can't do? Now he can add filmmaker to his resume. Definitely worth a purchase.

Get this CD if you got the movie! The songs are original and great. You can't beat the sound. If you like Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Corey Taylor, Queens of the Stone Age, Tom Petty, etc...You can't go wrong with this. I've listened to it dozens of times and plan on more.

Incredible music by some legendary artists, from track to track there is not one skipping song on the album. Taking advantage of every artists strong points, the album rocks hard, contains incredible lyrics and melodies and is one of the best albums yet released in 2013.

This is a great CD for rock fans tired of the bubble gum rock that is being put out now. True musicians with true talent not created by a producer in a studio. Dave Grohl does it again!

If you have not watch the movie, please do so. It gives this cd even more depth then it already has and enriches the experience when you listen to it

It was exactly what I was looking for when I came into the store. I was so glad it was available. Can't wait to hear so more like it.

This is how music was meant to sound. It's an album with a classic sound recorded at a classic studio with amazing musicians.

Highly recommended for any diehard music fans. Personally my favorite track is Heaven and All with Robert and Peter. Obviously.

Loved the movie, love the album. I like something in each track even if the featured artist isn't a favorite of mine.

LIke Probot this is another of Dave Grohl's projects. An essential purchase for any Dave Grohl or Foo Fighters fan.

The Corey Taylor song on this cd is one of the best songs ever recorded.

Luckily, I found out about the “Sound City: Reel To Reel” through the Foo Fighters e-mail mailing list. I decided to take a chance on them because I previously enjoyed the Foo Fighters greatest hits collection (reviewed it on January 14, 2011), their Wasting Light cd (reviewed on May 14, 2011), and had much fun at one of the Foo Fighters concerts back in November 11, 2011. As with millions of others, I have been aware of Foo Fighters since the 1990’s thanks to MTV. Additionally, I have been familiar with the Foo Fighters and this genre of music because my two older brothers frequently listened to rock music. I like the diverse music collaborations on the cd. I also completely understand that it is going to vary with each man or woman on personal favorites on this cd. However, I have to admit that the following are among the songs that caught my attention: “Heaven And All” (Robert Levon Been, Dave Grohl, Peter Hayes), “You Can’t Fix This” (Stevie Nicks, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, & Rami Jaffee), “The Man That Never Was” (Rick Springfield,Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel& Pete Smear), “From Can To Can’t” (Corey Taylor, Dave Grohl, Rick Nielsen, & Scott Reeder), “Cut Me Some Slack” (Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, & Pat Smear), and “Mantra” (Dave Grohl, Joshua Homme, & Trent Reznor). “Sound City: Reel To Reel” is a great music choice for those who like rock music featuring an eclectic range of musicians.

I had a lot of curiosity about this, so I ppv it. and immediately had to own it! What an amazing story about what I grew up listening to! The Fleetwood Mac story was awesome! A part of history disappeared with the studios demise. Sadly digital is not always the way you should hear music, especially when you listen back to the old way music was recorded! a must see!
