Great Alternative to The Fruit Buds Pro!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great earbuds! They are not perfect but they have some features that beat most other buds I've had. As a starting point, I own or have owned the best buds from the Fruit Company, the Big speaker company, and the Galaxy company. The Liberty 4 buds are a standout for sure. These Anker flagship buds last a very long time. I tried to use them until they died but I just can't be comfortable while having earbuds in for 8 hours at a time. I was able to last 6 hours in one session before I had to give my ears a break - not because they were uncomfortable but because any earbud would be. When I took them out at that point they still had 25%ish battery left. When you factor charging from the case, it took me almost two weeks before I had to charge the case! That was with daily use too. The sound from the Liberty 4 is great, I have no complaints. The Soundcore app allows a ridiculous amount of equalizer and sound profiles. You are bound to find a sound that you are comfortable with. They have good bass, not fantastic but it will probably satisfy most people. Clarity is crisp and tones are bright. The ANC is on par with any other buds I've used. The ambient mode is really my main gripe. It works. Two different modes to choose from, Normal and Vocal. I am not really sure what the difference is but I actually think voices, particularly my own, sound better in the normal mode. The hardware itself is stout and sturdy. The case has a nice matte finish to it and has a satisfying slide motion to open and close it. The case also easily fits in my pockets and it is smaller than the Fruitpods Pro case. One of the best features of the physical hardware is how strong the magnets are that hold the buds in the case. They draw them in with a snap. They would probably stay in just fine even without a lid on the case. The earbuds themselves are a high gloss finish which looks good but it does make them a touch slick. I've dropped one a couple times. The earbud tips are really nice too. They are similar to some aftermarket tips I have bought. They sort of pivot when they are in ear so they tend to be more comfortable. With the Liberty 4 price at release, these are a great value compared to the top buds from many other companies.

Great sound but too much treble
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These were very comfortable compared to many others and a good price, too. Unfortunately I ended up returning because I couldn’t turn the highs down enough. They tend to really blow out the S’s, almost to the point of being painful. I tried using the app to adjust but then everything just became muffled.

Becoming my new favorites, with some hesitancy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, these produce some of the best sound I have had in a set of active earbuds. The bass is full and deep. The vocals are crisp. I hear notes and subtle instruments I haven't heard before in my media. Excellent reproduction. You will have to get used to the whooshing sound of the mics in transparency mode. I got used to it pretty fast as with most ambient sound headphones. You're able to sync up without the app, but for the full feature set, it's definitely worth connecting through their app. I'm usually hesitant for bloatware, but I find Anker to me more trustworthy with flushing out issues with their applications. In the app, you will find connection status, sound modes, tons of EQ settings and sound tweaks that are worth checkiong out. One noticeable omission is 3D sound. Not a deal breaker for me but just in case you were looking for it. I do find the spatial sound to be worthy and the HQ Bluetooth mode adds quite a nice punch to my music. One last thing about the app, is there's no slowdown. It opens fast, it connects fast, and it functions very quickly. So it's less of a hindrance and more of a great addition to the headphones. Initial connection was instant and I have had no issues connecting or reconnecting since first usage. The range is great and ther has been little to no droppage in playback. One feature that I had with these freedom type headphones is a disconnect occasionally between the left and right ear. No issues with that here. The buttons on the headphones are customizable and they're very sensitive. Sometimes too sensitive. Once you get the hang of it though it becomes less of an issue. For the fit, I ended up using the head gels that were already attached to the headphones. They fit the best for me, and after the sound test, the pairing seem to work. Through my workouts, I've had no issues with them falling out with the exception for grappling. Not a surprise, but I always have to test to see if they'll stay in through that type of pressure. They did pass the boxing test which is very impressive for staying in place. Runs, not a problem at all. Very comfortable fit and no issue wearing for long periods of time. Now for my hesitancy. Nowhere listed on the box or on their site is an IP rating. This concerns me. Without knowing whether these headphones are sweatproof, waterproof, or dust proof, I'm not 100% for using them for all of my grueling workouts. At this price point, this should be a given but once again, it isn't listed. Which leads me to believe there is no rating for this. Once again that's concerning. Reading that, you may say, these headphones may not be for working out. But with the added heart rate detection and work out monitoring system they've built in, I have to say they're specifically made for that reason. Speaking of the heart rate sensor, it works great in terms of keeping up with your actual heartbeat. I compared it with my chest wrap and it was pretty dead-on. The issue is finding a place to use it. The workout tracking built into the app feels like a secondary function and not a mainstay. The voice prompts Within are poorly done and mismatched when it comes conveying information through the vocal assistant. It switches from her voice, to a robot's voice, to another robot's voice, to back to her voice. It can be jarring when you're trying to get the information. Also, as of this point, the heart rate sensor can't be used in any other app. I'm sure they can branch that out, which I hope they do, but if they don't I can't see a reason for using this except for a last-minute backup if all of my other monitors are dead. Out of all the features, this one is more of a gimmick and less of a cool necessity. Hopefully with time, as they improve on it in the software, I'll find more reason and purpose to use it. Finally one thing that isn't a deal-breaker but I haven't figured out how to do this yet, is when you take out a headphone and the playback stops, when you put it back in it automatically defaults to either noise cancellation mode or ambient sound mode. I'm trying to figure out how to get it to stay on normal mode when I pop it back in my ear. I'm not sure if I'm pressing a button by mistake or that's just programmed into it. I'm still testing that out. That's minor but it is worth noting. With those issues laid out, I still would recommend these headphones because of their superb sound and app functionality. But, without knowing the proper IP rating and having a semi-functioning heart rate monitoring system, I was still hesitant recommending them to someone who is going to be doing a lot of sweating and/or weight work with his headset.

spend the money on something better
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.they were alright while they worked. That was only 5 months. the fitness features aren't as great as they make them sound on the box. the noise cancelling is comparable to old beats which still isn't enough imo, and when i sweat they fall out even after a fit test and changing the ear pieces. Next time ill purchase over ears, i had to return these to soundcore theyre replacing with something comparable that i dont even want. awesome.

Here are the tips for your reference:
1. Look at the L/R logo on the back of the earbuds to ensure that the left and right earbuds are being worn on the correct sides. Turn the earbuds while wearing them and find the most comfortable position.
2. Try other sizes of ear tips to ensure the one you're using fits well and creates a tight seal. If one of your earbuds doesn't fit well, please try a combination of the ear tips, such as medium on the left and large on the right.
3. Take the Fit Test on the soundcore app to check if you're wearing the earbuds in the perfect position.
4. Follow the instructions in the Quick Start Guide. Put the earbuds in your ears and twist them until they feel secure in your ears.

Here are some tips for your reference:
- Forget the Bluetooth history.
- Clean the microphone hole with a clean, dry, and soft brush, cotton swabs, or other tools.
- Resetting the earbuds: Place the earbuds in the charging case and leave the case open, then press and hold the button on the case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators flash white rapidly three times.
- Use the regular phone call (not calling APP, VoIP, Messenger etc.) at a different quieter place to see if it makes any difference.
- Try it with another device (phone/tablet/etc.) and see if the issue persists.

Rich Sound, Strong Bass
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’d been enjoying my Soundcore Air 2 Pro earbuds for almost 2 years. But after a nice brisk walk along the seawall a few weeks ago, I leaned over to look down at a pelican & felt my left earbud begin to fall out. Before I could catch it, I watched it drop into the bay, never to be seen again. Enter my new Soundcore Liberty 4’s! The 3 best features of the Soundcore Liberty 4’s (vs. my previous Soundcore Air 2 Pros) are the improved sound quality, adequate active noise-cancelling & strong bass. Although the out-of-the-box sound quality is good (especially for this price-point), the Soundcore App is the key to optimization & maximum enjoyment. The App’s adjustable/customizable equalizer w/presets allows me to dial up the heavier bass (Bass Booster) that I want for some of my motivating music playlists. While these buds don’t produce the kind of staccato clarity & definition or punchy bass found in some well-known higher end buds, this iteration of Soundcore easily provides better, brighter, crisper highs & stronger bass than my old Air 2 Pros. I would even say that, to my surprise, in some aspects, these buds produce a sound quality that gives another more expensive competing brand of wireless buds I own a run for their money. The App includes an array of preset sound profiles, or you can create your own. I like the ability to quickly change modes. For example, after listening to something upbeat in “Rock” mode w/thumping base, I can make a fast switch to “Podcast” mode for a talk/lecture that gives me clear & detailed treble. The EQ presets make an appreciable difference in my overall listening experience & enjoyment. The noise cancelling is also adjustable. You can select from several pre-set options or use the HearID App feature which maps your personal hearing sensitivities across a spectrum of frequencies during a short hearing test to produce your unique hearing profile. While it’s obviously not as accurate & detailed as an audiologist’s audiogram in a soundproof booth, you can certainly utilize it to help broadly compensate for hearing losses & improve your overall listening experience for music & podcasts. Another plus: so far, the battery life has been good. I’m getting more than 8 hours of play in normal mode. There are really no negatives to speak of with these buds. The ergonomic shape of the buds & the super-soft silicone ear tips are comfy enough. While I like that the stem (or stick) design makes it easy to adjust the controls, they don’t feel quite as secure as my other pair of fully in-ear “stemless” buds. So, I don’t think I’ll be using these for sports or workouts … or walks along the seawall.

Harsh Treble, Over-hyped
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We all appreciate this company making upgraded devices to improve on sound quality, features and ergonomics. With the Liberty 4's, the company fell short on the QUALITY of sound. I rated 2 of 5 stars when comparing these to the 4.5+ star rated Liberty 3 Pro earbuds. The sound on the Liberty 3 Pro is more natural with less harshness in the treble region. I believe the dual drivers on the 4's do provide more distinction between lows/mids/highs but the quality of the tweeter is not good. Maybe my Liberty 4's were defective. Impossible to say. I have been an Audiophile for many years and I was hoping the 4's would be an improvement over the Pro 3's but they clearly were not. I did try to curb the treble with equalizer settings but it always sounded unnatural. The 3 Pro has more features when it comes to EQ presets and MUCH better analysis of your hearing for the HearID feature. The Pro Engineers praise the 3 Pro's so maybe hold off on buying these new Liberty 4's.
