Great Sound, Noise Cancelling could be better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Soundcore Space Q45 is a great value. The sound that they produce for the price punches well above it's weight. I have a pair of Soundcore earbuds that I first experienced the great sound for the money and was expecting the same with these and that's why I got them. Out of the box, they sounded great. There are options to go in and customize the sound, but I found it unnecessary. Set up was fast and easy. I turned them on and connected to my phone with no issues. I already had their app because of the earbuds, so I went in and it detected the headphones right away. It did a firmware update and they were ready. While the sound is great, I find the noise cancelling to be lacking. I would say it works well enough, but not nearly up to 98% as they say. First, I'll mention that it has an option to let noise through or cancel. The amount that it let's through when you choose to was good. I could hear the music and what was happening around me. But in noise cancelling, I could still hear a lot. I went into the app and set it to the highest possible noise cancelling and it helped but I still feel that it could be better. They are also extremely comfortable. They fit completely over my ears and the materials and good. For the price, I give it 5 stars despite wanting more from the noise cancelling. Maybe it will get better with a future update. But I would still highly recommend them for the sound and comfort that you get for the money.

Love Em
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great! I'm a little more critical when it comes to anything involving music because I am also a musician. I like to hear the details in the vocals, instruments and such. The ANC with these works really well and also enhances the sound quality at the same time. The headphones are light weight and after having them on for a few hours, did not have ear or head fatigue. They have a nice quality feel when handling. Another great design is putting a large L and R on the inside ear pads instead of the tiny little marks other headphones have. The app settings, EQ and controls actually do work well and custom EQ is nice. The phones paired quickly with my devices. Also when I added the phones to the app, A firm ware update became available and installed with no trouble. Responsiveness of the physical buttons on the phones work good. Included is a wonderful case with hold strap and 2 cables. I have some older devices that still connect by a 3.5 mm jack and was glad to see this was included so I didn't feel left out to wireless only. Also has USB C connection for charging. Glad to see this as other brands are still using older USB connections. I am really enjoying these.

A great alternative to higher-priced LDAC phones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GOOD - Nice sound - LDAC support - Auxiliary wired input - Includes carry case BAD - Noise canceling not very effective - Folding up the headset to put in the case is clumsy - Mids and highs sound lightly muffled TLDR The Soundcore Q45 have LDAC support and quite nice audio quality, even if the noise canceling isn't great. They're better than most other headphones in their price range that I've tried. DETAILS You can look at the Q45 phones two ways. Either it tried to be a high-end headphone and missed the mark, or it took some good cues from premium headphones to make a better than average headset while keeping the price much more affordable. The soft shell zip case is very similar to what you get with a Sony 1000XM and holds both the phones and the auxiliary 3.5mm audio cable. Unlike the Sony, the Q45 doesn't fit quite as well in its case. The headphones don't lay completely flat and you end up squeezing in the case in order to zip it. It's not great, but it's certainly enough to give the headset good protection to pack in a bag for the day. Anker really touts the double driver layers for sound quality. In practice, they do pretty well. Again, not quite as nicely as more premium headphones, but certainly better than most in the $150 and under range. The highs and mids sound just slightly fuzzy. But the really nice thing here is LDAC support allowing you to get far better than normal Bluetooth audio quality. Using the included mobile app you can customize your EQ and even limit the maximum volume if you want. The app has a decibel reading letting you know how loud they are and it's a nice addition for people who want to monitor their hearing health. The big downside is the noise canceling. Perhaps it's tuned more for general persistent noise, like airplane engines and street construction. In my daily use, it didn't do much more than you already get in passive noise reduction from having over-ear cups. Not only that, but I could also hear a faint hissing sound in the background. That said, I've rarely been impressed with any ANC system that wasn't on a $300+ headset, so perhaps I'm too picky. Overall, these are pretty good for the price. If your music player supports LDAC and you can't afford premium headphones, these are a great alternative.

Good headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my elderly parents. The sound is good. It blocks outside noise effectively. The headset is comfortable. And it so far seems well constructed and durable. The downside - particularly go to leer users - is the controls are very small and difficult to see. Overall I recommend.

Great Performance at a Fantastic Price Point
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're a frequent traveler, someone who often works in noisy environments, or just in need of instant peace and quiet, noise cancelling headphones might be just the ticket. The past few years have seen an explosion of noise cancelling headphones and earphones at all price points, and popular cell phone accessory maker Anker has gotten in on the action with their Soundcore lineup. The latest addition to their over-ear product lineup are the Space Q45s, which promise top of the line audio and noise cancelling performance at an accessible price point. Unboxing the Q45s is simple, with everything neatly packed in the included hard-sided travel case and a minimum of plastic wrap used. The inclusion of a protective carry case is nice at any price, and Anker's is a soft-touch, hard-sided model that looks good and should keep your Q45s from getting scratched or squished in your bag. The inside is a soft fabric, with room for the Q45s folded and flattened, as well as a bit of space for the included charging and 3.5mm audio cables. The headphones themselves are, simply put, of fantastic quality for the price, with a look and feel competitive with headphones twice the price. The Q45s are all black, mostly matte soft-touch plastic with splashes of shinier plastic and even metal-like stainless on the headband. Everything comes together in a classy, understated package that looks and feels premium without drawing much attention. Anker includes some branding, but it's subtle, and adds to the premium feel rather than detracting from it. The Q45s provide plenty of flexibility and adjustment to get a good fit without feeling flimsy, and they feature a fantastic amount of memory foam padding on both ear cups and the underside of the headband. Anyone who's used on-ear or over-ear headphones knows how important adequate padding is, especially when wearing glasses and headphones together, and Anker hasn't skimped in this important area. I found the Q45s comfortable with and without glasses. They exert enough pressure to stay firmly in place, but they didn't give me a headache even after wearing for awhile, something I've experienced with over-ear headphones in the past. Even with a big head and big ears the Q45s should be more than comfortable during use. Setup is simple with Anker's Soudcore mobile app, a handy companion I highly recommend you download. Using the app and the quick start guide had the Q45s set up in no time, paired to my iPhone and with the latest firmware installed during setup. The Q45s are as easy to use as any good bluetooth headset, connecting quickly when turned on and offering control of volume, play/pause, next/previous tracks and noise cancellation mode from buttons on the headphones themselves. One place Anker differentiates the Q45s is with their excellent mobile app, which offers control beyond the basics above. The Soudcore app allows you to customize actions for some of the physical buttons, as well as adjust the level of noise cancelling and change audio equalizer settings for whatever you're listening to. The app is straightforward and responsive, and I have yet to encounter any issues during use. I really appreciate the level of control Anker includes, which should let you customize the Q45s to suit your personal preferences and listening style. Noise cancellation performance is excellent, among the best I've experienced. The Q45s include Anker's latest noise cancellation technology, operating with three stages to reduce noise up to a claimed 98 percent. While I can't test that figure exactly, I can tell you Anker isn't kidding around with their ANC, as the Q45s do a fantastic job of blocking the rush and roar of wind and movement (like what you'd experience on an airplane) and the everyday background "hum" of life. Even with no music playing I was impressed with how quiet things became; it's truly like donning a cone of silence. Add in some music and you're suddenly transported to your own little world, wherever you might be. It's almost disconcerting how quiet things become when you have audio playing, even at low volumes. As I write this, I'm watching folks talk a few yards away, and I can't hear a word they're saying. Noise cancellation tech is akin to magic, and Anker does a great job with it -- especially considering the price. Blocking noise is one thing, but how do they Q45s sound? I'm happy to say Anker didn't skimp on sound quality. On their default settings the Q45s have a very balanced, satisfying sound, with a wide soundstage and plenty of detail. Vocals come through clearly, with instrumentals wrapping around you, almost in a 3D/surround sound fashion. If you're used to simple headphones or a single bluetooth audio speaker, having true stereo sound makes everything sound that much better, and adds a dimension to your audio that you might not have realized was missing. I listen mostly to indie pop/folk and some light pop/electronic music, and I've been pleased with the Q45s no matter what I throw at them. Lows are always present, but never overwhelming, and highs are clear without being shrill. I've been perfectly happy with Anker's default sound profile, and haven't felt the need to tinker with the equalizer, which is a testament to how well-tuned these 'phones are. If you find yourself wanting to explore, the Soundcore app includes a dozen or so preprogrammed sound profiles, as well as a customizable 8-band equalizer, so you should be able to fine-tune things to your heart's desire. Overall, I'm very pleased with Anker's Soundcore Space Q45 headphones. They punch far above their price tag, with noise cancelling and audio quality that competes favorably with the best and a price that undercuts them by half or more. Build quality is top-notch, battery life is almost absurdly long, and Anker's Soundcore mobile app gives you a wealth of options to personalize the Q45s. All this quality comes at a great price from a company with a solid track record, making the Q45s an easy win in my book.

Pretty good, but…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good NC and overall sound. However, there fees like something is loose in my right ear. So when I am walking, I can hear it moving. It is quite annoying bc it defeats the purpose of NC.

Wearability Improvement Needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality and noise-cancelling feature make these an amazing buy. But no matter how I much adjust them, they are not very comfortable to wear. Not sure if it is the fault of the headband or the earpads, but it doesn't take long before I have to do one-ear listening. I am also not sure if you actually get 50-hours of runtime. The buttons on the earpads are hard to see, especially if you are have visual impairment. I wish it had a battery indicator light. I am an Anker product fan so hopefully this review will trigger an improvement in these areas.

Comfy for big heads
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little skeptical about the headset because it looked a little small in the photos, but once I tried them on I was pleasantly surprised that they fit really well in my head. They don't clamp down tightly and the ear cups are soft enough I can wear them for hours without issues
