This is the album that started it all for Avenged Sevenfold. Vocally (and musically, for that matter) it sounds a bit different than the songs most people recognize from the radio, but if you are a fan of the metal core genre, pick up this CD.

I grabbed this album because I'm an aspiring Avenged Sevenfold fan and it was a good price. Definitely do not regret my purchase.

I cant seem to get enough A7X. i find myself wanting to listen to a quick song from one of the A7X albums and end up listening longer than i should making me late for "things" alot lol. Rock On!

Sounds like Avenged Sevenfold, some heavier than I expected which I like.

I love avenged sevenfold music and because this was 6 bucks I was Like HEL* YA!

Final album I needed to have all of avenged sevenfold's albums. Came across it in store by chance and have been listening nonstop sonce o got it. Great album.

one of my most favorite bands I really like a lot!!

I am a fan of Sevenfold and this was my first cd purchase of their material. To me is sounds like it is all music they wrote in the early days of the band. I think Synister Gates is only on one track and it shows. It sounds more like screamo and lacks the melodies A7X is known for. This album is for the hardcore Se7enfold fans and nobody else.

I have been listening to Avenged Sevenfold's music for quite a few years now, and I finally got their debut album. Man, was I blown away!! I haven't found a single dud on this album, and in my opinion, this is some of their best work. Waking the Fallen was my favorite album by A7X, but this one definitely gives it a run for the money. I haven't been impressed lately with A7X, I'm not saying that their newer music is bad, it just doesn't get my attention. This album is much heavier than their newer, more radio friendly music.

Great band, love their music, but wasn't impressed with this CD

Now to start off, I have no valid complaints about Avenged Sevenfold's new material...But man, this album is amazing!!! Just like their sophomore album, Waking the Fallen, this album is intense. It is waaaayyy heavier than their newer material, and the vocalist actually screams. If you are a fan of their new stuff, but haven't heard their first two albums, the new stuff will seem watered down.
