    Power, Performance, Sleek Design

This is a wonderful 2 in 1 laptop that has seriously impressed me. It's power, performance and design are all clearly professional and the attention to detail is clear. Design: This laptop is incredibly thin and light. Yet it is also very sturdy. It does not feel flimsy at all. It can easily be carried around to appointments, class, or wherever I need to go. The 2 USB-C and 1 USB3.0 ports are easily accessible, as is the volume rocker. This is my first computer with USB-C so that will take some getting used to, but I am glad that HP decided to include a USB3.0 port as well. Performance: The computer is incredibly fast and smooth with everything I have thrown at it so far. It boots up fast and programs/apps all load fast and perform well. The touch screen works very well and I have found it to be more "accurate" with touch than previous touchscreen laptops I have used. I have no complaints at all regarding the computer's performance. Power: The computer boasts a very long battery life. I have no doubt that with general use I could use the computer all day without a problem. As a test, I turned up the screen brightness to 100% and started streaming HD video. The computer lasted 6 hours before reaching the 5% battery level hibernate stage. I have two minor complaints. First, to my eyes the screen brightness is a little dim, and I have to keep it to at least 80% for it to be comfortable. However I have directly compared it to other premium laptops and the screen brightness is the same, so perhaps it's just my eyes. Second, on very rare occasions I can hear the fan blades actually slightly rubbing against the housing producing a slight noise. This does not happen often. Normally the computer is very quiet even when the fans are running. But when the blades start to rub I do hear it more. This is so minor I debated whether to even mention it... I am VERY pleased with this laptop!

At 18 months it would not turn on. It wasn’t even used that much, but it just stopped working. Very pricey and makes me want to avoid HP. Unfortunately, it seems like just about all Best Buy sells these days is HP.

This laptop is amazing. It is so thin and light that you would assume it is a Chromebook. Setup is a breeze as Cortana walks you through the initial setup. I love that you can choose facial recognition or fingerprint with this model so no need to type in a password, just look at the screen and it unlocks. This computer replaces my old Spectre and I can tell that is much faster. I only use this for browsing the internet and working from home on occasion so don't need any more that about 100 gb of storage so the 256 inside is plenty for me. The battery is amazing. I have only been using it for a couple of days but it has been on for probably 9 hours and is only 30% used. It comes with a pen which is nice but I cant see myself using it a whole lot but it does double up as a mouse with right click button and select button. It also comes with a leather case to hold your laptop and pen so I don't have to go buy a case. Overall, this is an amazing laptop, you definitely get what you pay for!

Let me start by saying that’s one of the best screens I’ve seen. So vivid and clear and crisp. The keys are nicely sized and keypad is smooth and feels great to the touch. The sound.... is terrible to be honest. Idk of mine was just defective... but even on a low volume it sounds like the speaker is going to bust. I had to just turn it off after a while it’s unbearable. It’s smsllwr than my taste but extra light weight, touchscreen is very responsive but the pen it comes with needs work... sometimes not so responsive and fluid. I feel like there’s better out there especially considering the price.

Starts up with Cortana speaking and walking you through setup, and you can even speak your answers if you want. When it first started, I figured it was going to be disastrous, but it actually went quite smoothly. It was definitely the most unique, and pretty painless, Windows setup I’ve been through. After the initial setup is complete, it helps get you on wifi & then checks for updates. Initial setup took less than 10 minutes You won’t be hosting any parties with the built-in speakers, but they’re sufficient for some light background music as you’re working away. Even sound fair when you fold it up and use tablet mode. On-screen keyboard takes up a large portion (almost half) of the screen when using tablet mode in landscape. Keyboard is slightly better when you ‘undock’ it; a bit smaller and can move it around the screen. Not horrible for the occasional web form, but you won’t want to be writing your life story with it. But then again, you can always unfold it & exit tablet mode. Included stylus is nice for minor photo touch-ups. If you’re a Onenote (or other handwriting app) user, you can also use the stylus to take handwritten notes, or draw a quick diagram. Has good palm-rejection, so you don’t get many random strokes throughout. Stylus does use a ‘AAAA’ (yes, 4 A) battery. Not sure how common those are, so that’s something to keep in mind. Not a show stopper though. Bottom gets a little warm after using it for a while. Not warm enough to be too uncomfortable, especially if you have jeans on, but would definitely be noticeable if you were wearing shorts. Very light & thin. Would be great for travelling and even comes with a leatherette sleeve to protect it from minor bumps/scratches. Battery life should be fairly good. I’ve got about 4 or 5 hours on it now, and the battery is showing at 55%. I do wish the battery icon in the system tray would show estimated time remaining, as opposed to just a percentage. Maybe there’s a way to change that, but I haven’t found it yet. Has a full size USB port, along with two USB-C ports which are also used for charging. Has a micro-sd slot, which is unusual. Would have preferred a regular sd slot so I can insert my camera’s SD card. Overall, I’m impressed. Not sure it could replace my tablet yet, but it may give the table a run for its money. Add the fact that my techie son (who builds his own desktops & designs websites) is jealous & has tried to swipe it from me multiple times, I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Integrated privacy screen, no heat issue.

Best deal I found during Black Friday was nine hunnit. 8th gen i5 instead of i7(quad cores vs. last year's i7 dual core); FHD instead of 4k; DDR4 (2133mhz) instead of DDR3 ram; Win10 Pro instead of Home edition; Press F1 to enable privacy screen. Comes with case sleeve & stylus pen. I chose this spec over the more expensive top of the line configuration so not to deal with heat & fan noise issue plus battery life lasts longer too. I prefer x360 Spectre over my previous XPS13 & X1 Yoga. Perfect for IT field job

WOW!! Amazing 2 in 1 Laptop.

Let me start off by saying that this is the 3rd laptop I purchased from Best Buy in under 2 weeks. I was trying to find the perfect laptop. First, I started with the Dell Inspiron 7373 (i5 8th gen) which was okay but a little sluggish. I then thought i wanted a 15" screen, so i returned that and got the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin, I was not impressed at all, it very sluggish compared to the Dell. I did extensive research, and it came down to this and the Dell XPS9365. I got to Best Buy, and told the employee what i was looking at. He talked highly of the Dell XPS but my heart was really set on this laptop. I ended up purchasing the XPS, walked out the door, got in my car and contemplated for a min. Something didn't seem right. My heart was set on the HP! Short story long, WOW I am glad I chose this. Compared to the prior 2 laptops this thing is blazing fast. I am not sure what people are complaining about with the speakers, but they are amazing compared to the prior laptops i tried. I'm so glad I picked this. Everything from the screen, body, performace is amazing on this laptop. I even prefer this screen compared to the XPS, it appeared to be much more brighter, as i compared them both in the store. (Yes, I made sure they were on the same brightness) I played a little bit of fortnite just to see how well it would handle it and it did well, got a little hot, not as hot as what people are saying imo. So if you are choosing between some of the models I have brought up, do not even second guess this. I will try to update if anything else comes up, good or bad. I hope this helps you, i know I had plenty of frustration when it came to choosing the right laptop. Good Luck

Nice screen at significantly lower resolution than Surface or Surface Book. Nice build with quality color on screen and very nice sound. Excellent battery life related to 8th generation processor. Ugh regarding Windows hello required chat to HP support despite patch being posted on website.

    A Well Rounded Laptop

The HP Spectre was at the top of my list along with a MacBook pro for two weeks while looking online at laptops. I needed something portable, lightweight, with a backlit keyboard and good graphics because I am a digital artist. I started to lean heavily towards a MacBook until I went in and viewed both laptops on display at my local Bestbuy. I longed for the graphics on the MacBook, but the keyboard, ports, touch screen, tablet mode and looks of the HP Spectre appealed to me way more and decided to go with it. The only complaints I have about this laptop so far are the large bevels around the actual screen reduces the area I have for viewing my art (but I can use a larger monitor at home for more complicated pieces), the speakers get a little tinny past 50 volume, the fingerprint recognition is quite poor probably due to how thin it is, and for some reason you have to practically quadruple click in order to achieve a double click with both the trackpad and stylus. But if you don't like listening to music too high because it can be a distraction to your other tasks, aren't bothered by thicker top and bottom bevels, and if you forget altogether there is a fingerprint sensor, this laptop is pretty great. It's a very nice design with matte silver color and chrome accents and I love love love the tactile feedback from the keyboard along that it is backlit, and while it's not 4k, the UHD graphics are still great to look at. The battery is okay, I keep my brightness at 50% and after 5 hours the battery hits 50%, so it won't due as well at 80% or 100% brightness. The touchscreen is awesome as I use to own an iPad and all our smart phones share this technology. I think this laptop is perfect for anyone looking for a 13 inch laptop that is a 2 in 1.

I've loved my laptop, I've had it since 2018 and have not had any major issues with it. It's slowly starting to slow down which is normal with all laptops. As a college student and account manager, I have been able to work from home and on the road. The size and weight are perfect.

This is the best ultra portable laptop I have used thus far. While it isn’t the lightest ultra portable, it makes up for it with its versatility. I use this laptop for word processing and excel workbooks. What puts this over the top for me is the multimedia use. I can watch Netflix in tablet mode on the bed or when I am it and about comfortably. In addition, I recently needed to sign documents and the pen the laptop comes with made it extremely easy. It comes with features that should be standard such as in an ultra portable laptop. If this was it portable I wouldn’t have touched it with a 10 ft pole. This is the best fit for me and therefore the best laptop I have used.

I love this laptop! It's very thin and lightweight, it boots up in a few seconds, the display is crystal clear, and the touchscreen is very responsive. I haven't tracked the battery life but it's been adequate for my needs, as is the 238 GB hard drive. I'm mostly an at home user. The keyboard mouse is easy to navigate with if you need to use it. The backlit keyboard is a nice touch as are the Bang & Olufsen speakers. The speaker system sound is terrific for its size. There is absolutely nothing to not like about this laptop.

    A perfect laptop for business

I bought this laptop in June in BestBuy. Everything was well except the cracking speaker and HP support helped me with the replacement. Other than that, this laptop is almost perfect! There are some suggestions though. CONS: - No HDMI port. Requires you to buy the USB-c / HDMI connector and carry it all the time with you. - The pen which goes together may be useless for you if you're not an artist or something. But this pen probably increased the cost of my purchase $50 or so and there were no option to exclude it from the package in BestBuy. - Motinor's touch screen is cool, but not so useful, to be honest. Does it drain battery more? I'd like to have an option to turn it off and save some battery hours. - Just one usb drive, other two are USB-c. I get it that everyone is moving to USB-C, but why not include an adapter? Would be way more useful than including the pen imho - The right column of keys on the keyboard is not quite something I used to have in my previous HP spectre laptops. So it takes some time to get used to it. - The touchpad initially was set up with a little bit weird sensitivity. Also why do you still make the right bottom part of the touchpad serve like a right click? - Lots of pre-installed software like McAfee, not so good. Why don't ask me when setting up my PC if I really want to install it? - Some minor software issues with the conversion from desktop mote to tablet mode, but I think this has nothing to do with the hardware, it's just a windows software glitch. - It's not possible to open the laptop with one hand like you can do with MacBooks. PROS: - The laptop looks amazingly beautiful! Beats macbook for sure! I bet the dark gold version is even better, but the silver is still good enough. - Works really fast, not lags at all - Nice battery life - Good support service that really cares about product defects and customer satisfaction - Good keyboard and touchpad overall (some small suggestions though - see "cons" above) - Face recognition and fingerprint scanner. Works lightning fast and super convenient!

I carry my laptop back and forth to work every day and wanted something smaller and lighter than what I had. I also wanted something I could use as a tablet and this thing fits the bill. I've have not had any of the issue other reviewers have mentioned, this laptop works great. It is fast, quiet and the speakers sound good. It does get a little warm sometimes in the middle up near the speakers when it's working hard, but nothing that would cause any problems or cause any issues. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an ultra thin and light laptop.

Compact & light, this 2 in 1 definitely meets the criteria to be called ultra portable. I ran benchmark software to assess CPU, GPU, RAM and SSD, and all are well above average, giving me confidence that quality components have been used to build this 2 in 1. As many others have noted, the X360 does run hot. As far as I can see, it only becomes an issue if you want to place the laptop on your legs or position it in some way that blocks the ventilation ports. The fan is very quiet and the chassis does not feel hot in any of the locations where you would normally touch. For under $900, this is a great laptop and a value that is very hard to beat!

Although I've only had this device for a few days, my first reactions are very positive. It looks, feels, and performs much like my previously owned MacBook Air, with the obvious difference between operating systems. It switches between applications in a lightning fast fashion (primarily due to the SSD) which I find very useful and definitely worth spending the extra cash on instead of sticking with a typical 1TB hard drive, which is what I'm used to. Overall, I'm very satisfied thus far, and believe the laptop will be perfect for school and work.
