I really enjoyed this laptop EXCEPT the screen kept going out completely. I had it repaired under warranty twice and both times it went out again after about two months normal use. I bought the extended warranty because I was afraid it would go out again...and it did. I had it repaired once under the extended warranty and then it went out again a fourth time. This time, HP is replacing the unit with a new upgraded one. Hopefully it will work this time!

Had to take the computer back until the Geek squad gave ma a new one. This one is doing better but to soon to give a complete review. Thanks and Geek squad did great!

Hp innovative extended keyboard makes no sense for a laptop. Most of us work with words, having an additional number pad really makes no sense when it implies making the rest of the keyboard smaller and typing more difficult. So, at the end of the day; the Spectre has a very uncomfortable keyboard to use it as a work laptop and it is too heavy to use it as a tablet.

Battery imploded within 2 years of ownership and now after being "fixed" I have had nothing but issues

Do not buy this laptop if you intend to take it back/gift it to someone overseas (India in my case). I thought the international warranty pretty much covered it if anything were to happen to the laptop, but when the problems started to pop up, that said the laptop couldn't be repaired in India cause they didn't have the parts for that particular model. Luckily my dad was traveling back to India so we got it repaired before the warranty expired. Now coming to the problems. Within 6 months of use, the display started showing black verticle lines and laptop started crashing with a blue screen. We formatted windows a couple of times to see if it was a virus that was causing it, but the problem kept persisting. When we gave the laptop to hp for repair, we got to know that the motherboard and display had issues, and since it was under warranty, we got it changed for free. No problems have occurred since. Maybe my case was a one off, but this was a horrible experience.

Problems with wraith and other things like that we it could be better

For an expensive computer i would think the display would have no issues but i was wrong. The screen flickers, not a lot but as if a candle is on and the flame is moving with the wind. Extremely annoying when working at night. Poor quality for an HP product, highly disappointed, I should have went with apple...

Once sent it for repair. Worked well for a month. Again same issue - does not start even if I keep it on charge for a whole night. Product is good - but if this is a issue of not starting up - what is the point of such a product? I am going to send it in again - Geek Squad by this week. Pheew.

When I bought this I was very happy thought it was a good buy. After about a week it starts to squeak every time you rest your hands on the board. I was hoping with it being a 2 in 1 it would be great, but I would of rather of bought just a laptop. In my opinion I wouldn’t waist your money on this.

Worked fine for a couple months. Gets too hot and the screen freezes frequently. Not worth the money spent

I bought this top of the line HP but very disappointed. It had a lot of issue, frozen all the time, and I spent a significant time with tech support. Finally, it had to be sent to HP for repairs for a week. Imagine I didn't have a computer for a week for work and other things. I requested HP to give me a new laptop, but they said No, they don't have that policy. HP doesn't care. What's about the lemon law? I am a loyal customer with HP. I have HP printers, mouses, you named it. After this one, I will never buy a HP product. And guess what, it is still frozen after HP fixed it. I don't have time to deal with HP people. I am researching a new laptop with a different brand. Any recommendation?

Good PC, the camera makes live videos have a redish tint.

I had the unit for 1 weeks and it stopped charging. Took the 3 yr. geek squad option due to the computer fixed in store or I get another one. Was told shipped to another facility, it will be gone for 2 weeks. Now no computer

I bought this laptop with alot of expectation and excitement 3 weeks ago, barely used it (3-4 times). It suddenly stopped working yesterday. I just wouldn’t power on. Spending 1500 on a laptop and it giving trouble within 3 weeks of purchase isn’t a good sign.

Got for a work computer and it is doing its job well.

This laptop looks great. However, I started getting the black screen of death less than 30 days of purchase. This product costs too much for this to happen. When I looked it up on the web, it is a common issue.

I purchased this laptop about 3 months ago, it has been passable in speed and function, but the screen has begun flickering, I’ve looked at solutions online and they look like reformatting the hard drive and starting over is the best option, but doesn’t solve the issue in all cases. Anyway reformatting would be very time consuming. I’ve had a few poor experiences with HP computers in the past, but thought I’d give this one a try, as it fit my budget and had great specs. I can say I’ll never purchase another HP computer again. I’m done with that company.

I have had this computer for less than a year and it has been in for repair twice. It is in repair now. Both times the computer didn't want to charge plus it won't run when the battery is not charged even if it is plugged in. At least so far. Unless they repair it right or replace it.

Overall it feels great and the screen looks fantastic but it falls short when put under stress. I experienced several blue screens while editing video and didn’t keep the laptop.

It sucks on 2 grounds 1. Not enough USB ports 2. had a defect within a year come up with flickering screen on battery.
