As of march 2024 this laptop is still powerful enough for all my needs, I am information tech student and this laptop is able to handle anything I throw at it.

So excited to finally have the X360 I've been waiting for for over a year now. I had bought the late 2017 version during black Friday sales at bestbuy, but returned it once I found out the new model would include a num pad as well as in slight increase in battery size. My version includes the i7-8550U/ MX150 GPU which is fine for my needs. So far I love it! In the first 2-3 weeks I have not experienced any fan issues or overheating, it is not running hot, the trackpad doesn't include the sensitivity issues experienced with the late 2017 version, and includes the fingerprint login feature. No coil whine at all I am keeping tabs of battery life with and without keypad lighting, while either surfing the web, streaming video both on screen and projecting to another screen, all with screen brightness around 30%. Have consistently gotten around 9-10 hours with battery saver on. No issues at all, and as upgrade over the 2017 model for sure. I initially noticed this on HP's site on Feb 24, well ahead of the anticipated Mach 18th date, so that was nice.

The 4K display is gorgeous--but it's set by default to show text at 250% normal size. I set the text size down to 125%--- at that size everything is tiny the way i like it. The 16GB DDR4 Ram cannot be expanded any further, but realistically who truly needs more than that? Surprisingly, the 512gb SSD can be swapped out for 1TB or 2TB (according to Greek Squad) because it's not soldered in. Sadly, the discrete video card is soldered in and cannot be replaced with a more powerful one---the only reason that matters is because this computer because of the video card will not support the Windows Virtual Reality goggles. The laptop is physically beautiful---it has gold hinges, and the color inside is a beautiful brown. It comes with a Windows pen and a laptop sleeve, but sadly there is no place to put the pen--it's only a matter of time before I misplace it. I like the numeric keypad and the back-lit keys. The power brick is relatively small compared to other PC's I've had. I would have much preferred a 17" 4K laptop, but they don't exist. I find that the high quality becomes more apparent the more I use it--- this is only my second day of ownership, but it seems nicer today than it did yesterday. It's surprisingly small and thin, considering it has a 15.6" screen. The speakers are the best I've ever encountered in a laptop. So far I've installed Band-in-a-Box 2018, Chrome, Dashlane, 64 bit Java, and 64 bit Eclipse. This laptop was so new that BestBuy did not have a display model--- I bought it sight unseen based on the specs. Overall, the only 2 negatives I have found is that it won't work with Microsoft Virtual Reality headset googles, and the memory cannot be upgraded beyond the 16GB it comes with.

This is a great laptop, very expensive for a windows machine. Which also means it comes with a bunch of bloat ware you can't get rid of, as well as almost constant advertisements on your screen that pop up and interrupt you while you are working. Also, don't expect the finger print scanner to work, my finger print log in fails far more often than it works. Battery life is good, nice bright screen, though it would be nice to be able to control the brightness of the keyboard instead of just being able to turn the back light on or off.

Absolutely love this computer. Performance and beauty combined in a great device. I have not found a single negative with it. Everyone who has seen it wants one...even a friend who has a MacBook.

I love this laptop. Writing this review on it! Latest version removed one accessory i liked: the ability to overwrite. I actually used it, and now, alas, it's gone. Otherwise: extremely happy!

Purchased this laptop during Black Friday. First laptop I got had a loose track pad that would click and the spacebar would only work when pressed dead center. Went back to store and exchanged it. The second one worked fine and does not have these issues. So far it has been running well and I've not encounter any issues. Battery is fine for the avg user. Look up the hardware issues I've mentioned and you will see that some of these laptops have loose trackpad and spacebar issues. If you do get one just exchange it and you may get a good one. Overall this is a good laptop for the price. Obviously, don't expect MacBook Pro quality and build from this laptop and you'll be fine.

Just bought this highly rated 15 inch 4K laptop at a great price. Bright and beautiful screen (better than that of similarly priced Dell Inspiron 7000 15 inch 4K laptop). You must download most recent updates from HP before you can get your maximum download internet speed.

I don't need the tablet features, but I do like the precise touchscreen, brilliant display and fast processing. The fit and finish are perfect. It feels solid and runs cool. The sound is great from the B&O speakers.

Wow got a great pretty black Friday deal on this and couldn't be happier. Dual boots great with Ubuntu. Super fast and great battery life.

Easy to use, light weight, love that you can touch the screen. I use it for my Silhouette studio and work. No problems.

I was going for a Dell XPS and due to some complications ( it was not working right out of the box) I changed my heart and started to look for some other laptops in the store. A guy over there told me how good this new hp is, and smoothly talked me into buying this (and I needed a laptop very badly for an upcoming event) I regret this decision very much now, as this laptop is basically only good for things like browsing the internet, reading pdf and other simple stuff. you may ask why? Because it gets overheated very easily! And then the customer service is there doing nothing. My main problem is that it gets very very hot when it is connected to a charger. Since this laptop has a 4k display that drains the battery fast. Now imagine what will happen since you cannot charge it and use it without the charger for long? you ended up using a hot frying pan to type your assignments, run codes and do school stuff. Of course, you can blame yourself for not doing the research but then you write this review so no one else falls for this trap. So thanks for reading this far and seriously, don't believe the stars. It fooled me as well. By the way: I posted a question on their website which quite expectedly no hp rep ever tried to reach out. A final note: I got this computer for less than a month. So yeah good job hp on producing trashy products and selling it at 1600 hard-earned cash! Summary: Pros ________ Beautiful, good display, fast Cons _____________ -basically can be used to heat your place in winters, so yeah good luck using this for more than a year. -poor customer service.

As a graduation present my dad said I could pick out any laptop I wanted. I came across this one and with the deals they offered for it at the time, got a half decent price. This is now my holy grail. It’s amazing for doing homework, working in class, watching Netflix/YouTube, storing photos, listening to music, etc. I’m obsessed. I’ve never had such a wonderful working laptop. It’s worth the hefty price in my opinion.

I love virtually everything about this laptop, from its battery life, vibrant display, sound, but I was on the phone for over 2 hours with HP support because of one simple problem. This laptop does not support 2 finger swipe between pages on google chrome, firefox, internet explorer, it only supports it for microsoft edge. The gesture worked perfectly on the Dell Inspiron 7000 and the Lenovo Yoga 920 but not on this. Very Disappointed! As someone who lives and dies by Google drive, docs, etc, this is a dealbreaker, will be returning this laptop as soon as I can.

I received my hp laptop and ran it for quite long in first use. Pros No heating or fan noise. Super crisp display. Nice speakers Full sized keyboard (15.6" model) Swift and smooth keys Came with digital pen touch pad works great Cons Speakers could be louder but not an issue for me as I keep laptop near to me while watching anything.
