It's splatoon1 with a few new weapons, characters and maps. Gave it a 3 and not a 2 because graphics look cleaner on Switch. Missing a 2 player online mode and a greater variety of maps, game modes should be expected in 2nd version. This is more of a splatoon 1.3 version. Same addicting game, so that should keep you going for a while. Sorry splat missed the mark for me

Great game, however it is very similar to the first. Great mechanics and shooter for newcomers, however!

I love this game, it's simple but fun. I had never played the first so I tried the beta and really got into it. That said some of the other people I play with online hate it. If you can, find a store that has it on demo and try it out first. Also, please ink your spawn, this is getting ridiculous.

Fun game to pick up and play to kill time. Single player is ok but multiplayer is where this game shines.

Enjoyed the first one on the Wii U, so naturally I was pleased to see this game available for the switch. Now I can take it with us when we travel and enjoy it on the road. I love that the rounds are short and finding matches is very quick and easy. My only complaint is that this version does not allow split screen play like the first one. Its not a deal breaker but a little disappointing. Worth a buy if you liked the first one.

I've heard great things about this game even before I purchased. I wasn't sure if it would live up to the praise that the game has gotten but it absolutely does live up to it. It is a great multiplayer game with quick fun matches and a great game to play online with a friend.

It's a fun game. Getting online is hard sometimes and I don't get into the lobby a lot. The story is fun.

This game has been fun since day 1. The online gameplay pretty much makes the game. Once Nintendo starts charging for it, idk how I will feel about it. The story mode is really just training for the online play. The weapons keep it fresh, and they add content all the time. My only gripe is with the controls. It uses motion controls to aim and it can get really confusing. With a few hrs logged in, it's really fun and can make anyone competitive!

I love splatoon! This is one of the best games that keep on giving. Definitely recommend having Nintendo online and the story mode is hard enough, the octo expansion extends off of that. So it’s not a quick, boring game. It’s stimulating for sure. And the squid theme is awesome

I never played the first but wow this game is so addicting. It's even better that you can take it anywhere with the Switch. After years of shooters feeling stale, this game is very refreshing. However, the online chat functionality is practically non-existent which is unfortunate in a team shooter.

My daughter loves this game. She plays a lot to the point where she stopped playing the Mario games.

I didn't play the original Splatoon and, based on videos, it looked more like a kids' game that a 35-year-old wouldn't find fun. The lack of Switch games and the very high scores made me take a chance on it, and I'm glad I did. It's certainly a fun time and a wonderful distraction to have on the go. It's not my favorite game in the world, but I've enjoyed it. (It's also the first game in a long time that had me laugh out loud at random moments.)

My kids like it and enjoying these days to play and explorer the game.

Recommend for younger users. Fun and amusing. Not good fit for older kids though. Nice to have for car.

Game is fun and well polished. It takes a bit to get used to the controls but that just adds to the fun.

Im not a big MP fan but I still enjoyed this a lot. So far its my second most played switch game. Never played the first one either. Lots of weapons to unlock, and new gear to get. The modes are limited, but still fun. The rotation of maps keeps it feeling fresh even if there aren't that many.
