Great game, fun online play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Different than most shooters on the market, Splatoon 2 is colorful and inviting, with good music and interesting design. It's very fun and I highly recommend it, but that being said be ready to grind through the first 10-20 levels by playing with people that seemingly don't know what they are doing.

Best Shooting Game on the Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing this game a lot since the release date and I'm loving it! The game has a good single player story (not much of a story though), and a great coop mode called Salmon Run (imagine zombies in COD). However, it's all about the online multiplayer mode! It's very fun to play and great to see how the focus is covering the ground with your team color's ink instead of trying to shoot the other team. There are other multiplayer modes once you've reached level 10, but turf war is one of the simplest and most fun modes I think. Playing with friends can be tricky at times though since there's no guaranteed way that you'll be playing on the same team. There's other experiences like dressing up your character and choosing the right type of weapon that gives the game an unique feel that I haven't played in most other shooting games. If you have the switch and are looking for a game to invest a lot of time in, look no further than here! P.S. To really enhance your experience, I recommend to get the pro controller if you don't have it already.

3rd person family friendly shooter game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A twist on the traditional 3rd person shooter genre, Splatoon 2 judges wins by your team having more surface area of the map covered in your paint than the other team. Motion controls are a little of a struggle to get a hang of but once you do it plays amazingly. Fast paced with short and quick rounds!

SplatAWESOME!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been wanting to get this game for a while now and finally decided to get it. First of all, I absolutely love the art style of the game and how the characters look, that’s one of the reasons I wanted to play it. Secondly, it is tons of fun! It has a solo campaign that teaches you how to play and gives you practice to prep for the multiplayer modes. The solo campaign isn’t big, so if you wanted to only play solo then I would advise not get this game. That brings me to my third point, the multiplayer. It is a lot of fun and the maps switch up regularly. Recently I got the Octo expansion pass and that adds about 80 new solo levels and customization gear. Overall this has quickly become one of my favorite games to play and look forward to the time that I get to sit and play it. Highly recommend!

I'm a kid, I'm a squid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a lot of fun to play and a lot to do. The standard multiplayer game is all about covering as much of the map in your team's ink before time runs out. Matches are short and intense. The ranked mode features different rotating objectives, from fighting for control of a moving tower and pushing it as far into enemy territory as you can to collecting as many clams as you can and then tossing them into the other team's basket almost like basket ball to your standard king of the hill capture point. If you get burned out on PvP, there's a cooperative mode called Salmon Run that pits you and three others against progressively harder and harder enemies that each require unique tactics and teamwork to overcome. And of course there's the single player mode that presents a variety of obstacle courses that teach you all the different nuances of the gameplay and controls. Plus all updates that add new weapons and maps are free!

Addicting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a game for one person to play online. No split screen. If you want to play with friends, they will need a switch a copy of this game. This game is fun and addicting. Matches are fairly quick. I can't imagine paying to play online since their online functions are extremely limiting though.

More Splatoon Fun And Great Like Before
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One thing that is always a concern with sequels to great games is that maybe the sequel just won't be that good. This is not the case. Splatoon 2 is great. It is quite similar to the first, so if you're looking for an entirely new experience you'll be disappointed. In any case, the game is fantastic.

Fantastic sequel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the original Splatoon and the sequel doesn't disappoint. It takes everything we loved about Splatoon 1, and makes the small, but necessary improvements leading to an even better experience. The ability to play this any where on Switch is a huge draw. I haven't been able to put the game down!

It is online multiplayer only! No split screen!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My sons and I love this game! Thank you Nintendo for always thinking about the children. Each side has to fill the maps with more of their teams color. No bullets! No blood! Only paint splat! If you have more than one child that wants to play together it is not possible with only one Switch console.

Fun and simple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Splatoon 2 is a great game following up the original one. Controls feel smooth, the design of the game is nice and its easy to pick up on. I would say definitely a fun game for people who want to play shooters and especially for the parents who doesn't want their kids playing games that kill people.

Very unique and fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hadn't played the first game going into this second but I had heard great things and wanted to see what the hype was about. Turns out it is very warranted, it is one of the most fun shooters I have played in a long time! Single player and multi-player are equally as interesting. Highly recommend!

Love this game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who never played Splatoon 1, I have to say that I love Splatoon 2. The online play is so fun and has great variety (turf wars, ranked, and this cool team effort called Salmon Run). The story mode is fun too, and the expansion to the game can add hours of additional play.

A fun, but flawed game at launch.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Currently have 40 hours into the game as well as numerous hours with the original. Personal thoughts: -Game comes with 8 stages at launch. Some of them are pretty decent, while some can be frustrating. The other frustrating thing is the game is on rotation where 2 stages are selected for each mode, and rotate every 2 hours. If there is a stage you dislike, then you are stuck with it. -Ranked battles are fun, but hectic. Like the map rotation, modes are swapped out every 2 hours. I really wish some of these modes were non-ranked along with turf war, but oh well. -Salmon run is a lot of fun and the hectic nature of it can be a great break from the base game, but it is only open at certain times during the day and certain days. A big issue. -The game has a decent amount of weapons to choose from, many of which are back from the first game. You can buy new weapons each level up to level 30, but you can level up to level 50 currently. However, the drawback is there are certain crutch weapons people use online a lot that need to be balanced better. -Splatfest is currently one of the biggest reasons to play. Each splatfest, a new topic is chosen (There has already been cake vs ice cream and mayo vs mustard in the US and PAL versions) and you choose a team and play in Turf War over the next 24 hours. The events are about 1-2 times a month, and you get bonuses at the end for participating. Its a lot of fun and one of the main moments the game shines. Overall, the game is a lot of fun, but the current lack of content is a issue until they get more maps and weapons out. Still though, a must buy for the Switch and a great multiplat game to choose over ARMS.

Fun and Addictive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great gameplay mechanics. I didn't play Splatoon on Wii U, so this is my first go around with the series. Super fun to pick up and play. It's not soooo addictive that I can't stop after a few rounds. For younger players, I can see how the online play component could get too hard and frustrating.

Splatoon 2 is still Nintendo's Online King!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Splatoon 2 takes everything that made the first one amazing and adds so much more! Tighter controls, better graphics, more items, and even more maps. Absolutely adore this "kid" friend shooter. And add the fact you can take it on the go and continue playing? Amazing! Totally worth the admission.

Purchased for my 6 year olds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn’t realize that this was an online game, And unless you’re a liar and the game is pretty much useless. I should’ve done more research. Now with that being said, once I got online the game is pretty awesome. My six-year-old girls love it.

Splatoon Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Switch is a great gaming device but it is still lacking in the number of quality games. This is a very solid addition to the Switch lineup and will help pass the time between Zelda and Mario. It can be as competitive or casual as you want it to be. Very accessible for gamers of all ranges.
