Very unhappy birthday girl

Splatoon 1 on the WiiU was 2 player and my kid played it at a friends house and loved it. She got Splatoon 2 for her birthday so her and her friends could play it together online. The game clearly says 2-4 player coop on the box. She wanted it so badly she used her money ($25) to buy it. She was excited. After 20 minutes of trying to set the 2 controllers correctly in a room of screaming kids, We realized it was only a single player game with ONLINE multi player. Very cheap poor advertising. She was bummed out and we were annoyed. I returned the game to best buy fort Collins the next day. but was told they can not take it back. We are stuck with a 1 player game and the kid gets slaughtered online every round. She now hates it. BE WARNED THIS IS A ONE PLAYER GAME

why cant i play as the rabbits
