Really fun and addictive!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't going to get this game at first but something changed my mind and I am really happy with this game. It has Single player, PVE and PVP modes. PVP is definitely the highlight of this game. Match matching is pretty fast and the server is very stable. Great game overall!

One Player Game
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved Splatoon 2, one of my friends recommended this game and I'm enjoying this a lot. It's very different from other shooting games because the objective is NOT to kill people, but to get the most territory for your team. I started out as level one while everyone was like level 70 which I thought was going to be an issue cause everyone seemed to have very highleveled equipment, but it all focused more on teamwork, so I was winning a lot of the matches for at least the one I focus on for territory (I learned the hard way that killing really does not mean anything) My biggest complaint is that there is no split screen. I saw this complaint a lot and I did buy this expecting no split screen. As I played it more, I was more perplexed on why there was no split screen since even Mario kart deluxe has a 2 player mode split screen online. I give it a 4 because I'm sure most parents want to play this with their kids and are expecting split screen and I don't see why they couldn't do it; however, other than that. The game was a lot of fun. Even the first player mode was a lot of fun, will be looking out to play the dlc for the game.

Great online experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a fun multiplayer experience on the switch, I'd easily recommend this. I feel this ranks alongside Mario Kart and Smash as the best multiplayer games on the system. It's great for both kids and adults and is extremely unique.

Even more fun than the original!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Building upon the surprise success of the original, Splatoon 2 adds a high intensity co-op mode on top of a full single player adventure and unranked and ranked multiplayer modes. The upgrade to the Switch hardware is apparent in smoother motion and even more vibrant paint!

Great game and a nice improvement on the first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fun game and pretty friendly to the casual player. It's a nice evolution to the first game and they're still doing additional content updates. A word of warning that it does require the new Switch online service in order to play online multiplayer.

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gameplay is great. Love the aesthetic and style. Motion controls are a bit wonky though.

Fun, but fleeting.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite thing about the Splatoon games is their sense of style. The aesthetic of the world, the characters and the music are just so colorful and quirky. Unfortunately, the game leaves much to be desired and feels more like a "My First Shooter" experience, rather than a full-priced, $60 game. The aiming's not great (use motion controls for finesse, stick controls for a more traditional experience), many of the levels are small, there aren't a lot of modes, the shooting isn't solid, the online experience feels old-gen and there isn't a satisfying sense of progression. Also, the single player campaign is lackluster and the bosses for each stage are fairly simple. And not having split-screen 2-player play on a system that's all about multiplayer is odd; If you want to play with a friend or family member, better hope they have another Switch and a copy of Splatoon 2. All that said, there is something enjoyable about hopping in, laying down some ink and splatting fools, as is getting new accessories for your inkling. It's just not a very robust experience and fades quickly until the next online Splatfest or Salmon Run. As the title says: Fun, but fleeting.

Kids love it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daughter has been wanting this for a while and we finally got it for the kids. They both love it (boy 8, girl 5). Pretty easy to pick up for seasoned veteran or a newbie. The gyroscopic controls take a little getting used to, but you get the hang of it fairly quickly.

Must-have on Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great variety of multiplayer options with frequently changing content - the game scales with you as you improve. This is my favorite multiplayer option on Switch! Controls are easy to learn and the design is fantastic.

Still a fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Though I think Splatoon 2 doesn't offer very many new and revolutionary concepts from the first Splatoon, it keeps all of the fun that I first enjoyed. I still love the game and would encourage everyone to play, even if you played the first and are unsure. Happy hunting!

A Unique, Colorful, and All-Inclusive shooter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Splatoon 2, just like Splatoon before it on Wii U, and a fun and totally positive multiplayer shooter. You will get more of your fun playing online with others, but unlike the first game, Splatoon 2 makes local multiplayer with others who own the game much easier. The game is also non-violent and mostly inoffensive, making it suitable for all ages as long as they are able to grasp the game's mechanics. It has a great sense of humor and ensures a fun time for every player. It makes it easy to learn and eases new players into the game through it's gradual progression system from the online mode as well as an offline single player mode complete with a story of battling evil octopus creatures meant to slowly introduce new players to the game's mechanics, but it is fun to play through even for those who already have a decent grasp on the game. This is one of the best games currently available on Nintendo Switch

A great sequel to a great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have never played Splatoon on the Wii U and own a Switch, then you should definitely pick up Splatoon 2. It's a refreshing take on online shooting games that in my opinion have grown stale thanks to Call of Duty. Not good at shooters, no problem. The point of the game is not about how many times you take out your opponent. Instead it's about what team can cover the level with the most ink. The sequel also includes a new horde mode called Salmon Run which is addictive and a better single player mode than the first. The game is not perfect though. Nintendo still needs to improve it's online capabilities, especially since they will soon be charging for them. The game suffers from a low tick rate (just Google it) and you still cannot swap out gear and weapons once you are in the lobby. Also, there are no split screen modes at all. Other than that, the game is a blast to play and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic BUT online works weird
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Know going into this review that I've enjoyed the time I've put into the game so far. I'm about Level 8 online and made it through a few worlds of the single player levels. All that was extremely fun, enough to sway my opinion to four stars. What keeps this game from 5 stars in the asinine way Nintendo handles it's online modes. Only certain modes are available at random times rather than open all the time for no reason. I can't easily join with friends to play online; during the Mayo vs Ketchup Splatfest I tried joining with my only other friend who has the game at the moment and we couldn't play because we needed two more people. On top of that, the way Nintendo implemented voice chatting through a separate phone app just doesn't work out conviently as it only works in ONE and ONLY ONE specific mode with friends rather than letting you talk to anyone in any mode that happens to turn on voice chat. I'll enjoy the online experience for now, but when Nintendo launches the paid version of online this better be completely overhauled because I'm not going to pay for a service that doesn't work out easily. I'm going to say I'm not recommending this game to a friend YET. If Nintendo fixes the online since this is touted as an online game, then get the game. Until then, hold off and wait. That said, I've mostly just played Turf Wars and enjoyed just popping in and playing a few matches from time to time. I just wish I could actually coordinate with my teammates.

Loads of fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a big fan of Splatoon on the Wii U, and this updated version takes everything that was fun and great about the first one and makes it 10X more fun! I love jumping online to play a quick match when I'm on my lunch break at work or killing time in a waiting room.

Splatoon 2 Standard Edition - Nintendo Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this game for my niece and nephew. Both have stuck several hours into it and continue to enjoy it with their friends online. If you can get it on a sale, I would highly recommend for the kids.

Fun multiplayer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this on the Wii U a few years ago and thought nothing of it. Then my coworker told me to get it for the Switch and it is so much fun! I'm not that good but still fun. The Nintendo app lets you buy gear and you can pick it up when you're in game. Pretty cool.

A great game, with some annoying Nintendo-isms
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo doesn't understand online. We all know it. The map rotation of only have 2 maps at a time for each hopper is unnecessary and discourages long play sessions. Locking Salmon Run to only certain times just flat out sucks. Playing with friends isn't really fully supported (not always on the same team, etc.) But it's a fun game to play. It would be a perfect game if Nintendo understood online.

Haven't played the first? Try it now!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from Splatoon 1, this may feel like a remix, but things have never felt so fresh from a sequel. This game is all about online multiplayer, so be prepared to battle it out on different modes akin to capture the flag, king-of-the-hill, and deliver the payload.

Fun Game with Dumb Restirctions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is quite similar to the first Splatoon if you have played that. Some new weapons help mix things up and the addition of a coop Horde-like mode is great, but it's dumb that the mode is only available during certain hours. I was unable to play the mode for the first 8 days of owning the game since it didn't align with my schedule, which feels like a misstep for the biggest addition this game has.

Innocent shooter
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shooter is very unique. It uses ink guns wielded by squid humanoids to shoot paint at other players or the level itself. Good game for all ages especially children who want to play a multiplayer shooter
