Best multiplayer experience on the switch

I love Splatoon 2. It has fantastic and deep online multiplayer, one of the best co op horde modes in salmon run, and a really great third person platformer esque single player campaign. It does have some flaws, namely it's online party system. It can be difficult to set up playing with a friend. But outside of that, I love everything about Splatoon 2. The online multiplayer with a crazy amount of guns and gear to keep things fresh will keep you busy for countless hours. Also, stick with the motion controls. It can be tough getting used to at first. But give it about an hour of single player and you'll never want to use twin sticks again

Best online multiplayer game ever on the switch. Nintendo's take on fps (first person shooter) created another awesome IP. Great game for all ages. Dont have to worry about violence in a shooting game since theres none. Althought its cartoonish its not a kids game. Best example of dont judge a book by its cover in this case dont judge the game by its looks. Competitive, Co-Op, Single player campaign. Everything is there plus an even better single player dlc that unlocks octolings as player characters. No other game can you be the freshest inkling/octoling.

When I first bought Splatoon in 2014, I got HOOKED onto the gameplay. It was familiar third-person shooter combined with the concept of shooting everything BUT the other players as the goal. Splatoon 2 feels no different, but in a good way. There's a lot of quality of life features that Splatoon 2 has to make it a sequel. Luckily the online worked perfectly fine on launch. It feels like the first game but with upgrades! I haven't played too much of the single player because the multiplayer is too addicting! But I'm enjoying everything so far. My criticisms would be matchmaking and voice chat. You can't create a lobby and search for games with friends to level up, which is a major bummer since I REALLY wanted to do that. Also the way you do voice chat in the game is ACTUALLY horrendous. Just use Discord on your phone or laptop or something. Trust me, it's much cheaper and saves you a LOT of stupid wiring.

Such a great game, this really is more of a multiplayer game as the main portions of the game require online connections. You compete in a map with four other players and have to ink as much of the map as possible. Very fun my six year old plays it often and actually stole my copy. This is to replace my stolen copy. There is also a game mode were you have to collect eggs from miniboss fish and you get in-game currency and cosmetics. There is a single player to this game which is fun but it is very short.

Another great game for the Switch

This game only works on the Nintendo Switch, so just a heads-up. This is basically the same as Splatoon on the Wii U, with some new weapons and re-tooled mechanics. If you loved the original, you will love this game as well. If you've never played it, give it a try; it becomes mildly addicting to cover the whole field in your team's ink and is incredibly competitive. One caveat: if you don't have an internet connection, or have an unreliable one, don't get this game unless you have people to play local wireless with. Most of the gameplay is in the multiplayer.

    Best shooter on the Switch

I'm not a huge fan of most competitive shooters as it seems the one's with the most time playing them know right where to camp and take me out the second I spawn. What I really enjoy about Splatoon 2 is that it's a light-hearted yet extremely difficult at time shooter. Matches are three minutes and are 4v4 with players constantly swapping in and out between matches. The basic premise being that you are an Inkling (kid/squid hybrid) that can transform to a squid swimming twice as fast as your walking speed. You shoot, roll, spray, or slosh ink around claiming ground. If you try to walk in enemy ink your walking speed is halved and you are more vulnerable. There are so many great modes in the game, with my first favorite being turf war. It's simply whichever team covers the most ground wins. There is also tower control, and rain maker (a destructive weapon that each team is fighting over). I really enjoy the new mode, Salmon Run where a team of up to four fight advancing enemies in a relatively small map. Each has particular weaknesses that you have to exploit to take them down. You have to work as a team and it's really fun. There is also an expansive single player mode that teaches you the ropes as you progress, and a really fun DLC pack "Octo Expansion" that goes for $20 and let's you play as the villain through a large 80 level campaign with a lot of unlockable loot. As you play though the game you level up, earn new clothes, weapons, and gear that has different abilities. And then every month or every other month there are what are called "Splatfests" where participants choose a side and battle with the victor getting rewards to enhance their gear even more. I loved the first game on Wii U and the second game improves on everything. Like that game Nintendo has slowly been adding to this game with the last major additions happening in early December. Over the course of that time many levels, maps, map re-designs, and items have been added to the game. I have put over 400 hours into this game and don't plan to stop playing anytime soon. My four year old son, 8 and 11 year old daughters and teen even enjoy playing this game. I can't recommend it enough.

The first Splatoon was an excellent game to begin with, and the sequel some how managed to be even better. The single player campaign is a lot of fun and a great way to get a feel for how the game plays before going into multiplayer. Level progressions it relatively quick if you're looking to get into ranked play (minimum level 10) and you can upgrade much of your gear along the way. I also found saving enough money to purchase those upgrades wasn't a huge grind. I only have two gripes about the game, that I share with the original: - Turf war is a lot of fun, but it gets very repetitive. Some new and interesting game modes in multiplayer would really help break up the monotony. - The motion controls are very finicky and difficult to work with. I disabled these as soon as I was able to.

Nintendo made one of the most unique third person shooters ever with the first Splatoon, and Splatoon 2 takes everything great about the first one and and makes it even better. The gameplay is smooth and solid, the maps are creative and fun, and it is a great way to play with friends. This game highlights what is so great about the Nintendo Switch; You can play at home online or you can take it with you and play anywhere. I will have 3 friends over and we can all play together with our own screens. If you own a Switch this is a must buy.

This title comes down to a single question: Did you play Splatoon 1 on the Wii U? Yes? If you enjoyed it: Get this. It is everything the first game offered and more. Better balanced, finely tuned Splatoon. If you didn't like it: This probably won't change your mind. It's a much more refined experience, but it's still Splatoon If you missed it on the Wii U? Get it. It's a completely unique experience with a completely unique style. Great for pick up and play sessions, ESP. with the Switch's portability and sleep functionality.

If you was on the fence about buying in the Nintendo Switch, the wait is over. Stop what you're doing and go buy a Nintendo switch and make sure you pick up splatoon 2. Now I'm at Older gamer and I have bought copies for for my children. We have been playing relentlessly to the wee hours of the morning every night since its launch. Single player is pretty good but not as addicting as the multiplayer on line stuff. This game is a must buy right along with arms, the legend of Zelda, and Mario Kart 8. Well done Nintendo, well done.

Splatoon 2 is a great game and is very similar to the first one. If you weren't able to play the original Splatoon on the Wii U, then this game will give you your Splatoon fix. Plays very well and incredibly smooth on both docked and tablet mode. Co-op mode and single player is great but where the game really shines is through its multiplayer mode, Turf War. Overall, I would recommend this game to all Switch Owners. Due to the small library, this is easily the best online multiplayer game on Switch thus far.

This is a shooting style game where even missing your opponents or never getting into a firefight still lets you contribute to your teams victory. For the more casual but competitive gamers, there is the Turf War, where two teams compete to cover the ground with their ink color; while the game does determine a winning team and losing team, you'd have to make an effort to see your record through the mobile app, and even then, it only tracks the last 50 matches played. For the more hardcore competitive gamer, there are ranked battles, which consist of three rotating game modes; here players are assigned letter grades, letting players show off their skill levels and making sure games are more evenly fought by grouping players of similar skill. Lastly, there is the coop mode, Salmon Run; in this, teams of 4 battle against hordes of computer controlled enemies. There is a single player mode, but it serves more as an extended tutorial and training ground for practicing with various weapon types than a full fledged game mode. Once a month, there is a Splatfest, during which time, the only competitive mode is the Turf War; every player chooses a side to decide very important debates like ice cream vs cake, and then they go head to head to support the superiority of ice cream vs the right to have questionable opinions. For a community and multiplayer driven game, Splatoon 2 has some unfortunate design choices/limitations. There is no single console multiplayer; every player must have their own Switch and game. Playing with your friends means you have to host a private lobby, play ranked, or be okay with the potential to be on opposite teams. Voice chatting is limited to a mobile app and is not supported by the game/console itself. Salmon Run is on a schedule which means playing coop with strangers online is not always available, although it can be played locally with friends in the same room. Ultimately, the game is fun, but it has issues that could be deal breakers for some people.

The game may look like it's for kids but the competition is pretty intense when you play rank mode. The single player is also a good way to learn the mechanics of shooting and inking if you want to practice before playing against other people. Also a completely new feature from the 1st game is the co-op mode Salmon Run. Really challenging and fun and a great addition to the Splatoon franchise. Anyway I would say this game is very worth it if you are planning on using the multiplayer aspect extensively.

A super fun online game but may unfortunately be on its way out from questionable player count. But when you get a game going it is a blast. Tons of weapons, tons of customization. A interesting but not great mini single player mission campaign. It is important to note this game REQUIRES Nintendo Switch Online in order to play. So if you don't already have that it will be an additional expense.

As of June 2021, Splatoon 2 has already sold over 11 million copies and for good reason. This game is amazing and entertaining and my kids and their friends spends hours playing it. It's colorful with good graphics and fun and very satisfying. There is a single player option and multiplayer and the multiplayer is where this game really shines. This game is almost perfect.

Overall the game is enjoyable with multiple options to choose from in weapons, clothes, shoes, and hat. Different types of secondary power-ups gives variations to each character. But they really need to add a split screen so it can be played as a two player game. Not fun when you have to pass the controller around and wait until the next turn. If you want to play two players you must have another Switch to play together. After each round while the next game queues up, there is no option to leave the screen and it forces you to wait until their timer goes from 150 to zero. Need to add a way to save a battle profile in case you want to try out new combinations of weapons and items but saving your favorite.

Splatoon 2 is a continuation of the Splatoon for Wii U but much much better. I always enjoy playing with the two joy cons separated because that way I'm not constrained to one position. The single player is fun but the rewards from it not all that exciting. The real reason to pick up the game is for the multiplayer. Learning all the different weapons can take a while but it's worth it. It helps that it is a very colorful competitive game compared to the majority of the market.

Splatoon 2 takes the original game and continues to enhance with new gameplay and weapons while holding to core tenets that made the original so great. That said, online play on the Switch seems to be limited to the new online solution from Nintendo that requires a monthly subscription. That is a bit of a hit for me as the service is still in beta as well as considering the game has no offline component with bots. There is a single-player portion of the game and some modes can be played wirelessly, but that requires multiple Switch consoles. Both good and bad can be said, overall it's still a great game but the multiplayer limitations through a paid-for model might affect your purchase decision.

Nintendo knocked it out of the park again with Splatoon 2. Splatoon 2 is a team-based shooter where the objective is to cover the map with as much of your team's ink as possible. The weapons are diverse, there's so many great pieces of clothing and Salmon Run is a great minigame. The campaign plays similar to Splatoon on the Wii U's was but it's still a good story. Most of your time will be spent playing the multiplayer, especially ranked once you reach level 10.

This game is fantastic. Its colorful as well as engaging. The game is about some inklings who just want to be the coolest squid ever. There are multiplayer game modes, co-op horde mode and single player story mode. What I did not like about the single player is it feels like a tutorial. But the rest of the game is just awesome. The tactics in this game in order to achieve victory have to be spot on. Which means this game is not only for kids but adults alike.
