Splatoon is a great multiplayer game for Wii U. Two teams battle to paint an arena in their respective colors and the team that covers the most ground wins. It is a unique, colorful and fun game. Highly reccomended

This game is a must own game. I have spent countless hours in the addictive gameplay. This game is so creative and just continues to add more content nearly every week. Buy this one now, you wont regret it!

Splatoon is a nonviolent shooter in which the player shoots ink onto the floor of a given area. Transforming into a squid allows the player to swim quickly in your color ink (even up walls) and replenishing your ink level to continue shooting. Enemies (or opposing players) can splat you with their ink; the enemy's ink will immobilize your character. There are single-player and multiplayer modes; emphasis has really been placed on the multiplayer mode in which two teams of four players complete. The gamepad is utilized well in this mode, giving a real-time overview of ink coverage. Nintendo is constantly adding weapons and stages. This is a highly addictive game that encourages strategic thinking and lots of action.

Nintendo took a risk with creating a new game and to me the risk paid off. I played this game for many hours last night and for many more hours today and I am having a blast... or should I say SPLAT!! I love that the game is colorful and upbeat and despite the fact that I am not so good at shooter games I do not feel shoved to the side when going up against players of higher skill. The high paced action is refreshing compared to the military based shooters that I stopped playing years ago once they became the same thing over and over and filled with angry gamers online. I took away one star as the game is a little light on content as of now but Nintendo will be adding more and more as the game goes on and from what I hear it will be mostly FREE!. From what I have played voice chat is not necessary but I could see how some might find it useful. Especially if longer matchups and bigger levels are created.

Upon initial release of the game, I had no interest in this game. I eventually wound up buying the game, and I do not regret it a bit. The environments are creative and are made better by the "unique" soundtrack that accompanies the game. The game-play itself is smooth and provides many options to entertain yourself; the focus being multiplayer. The nature of the game is wonderful for all ages, not just children or teens. In my opinion, the game can function great as something you play in small intervals as well as one played for multiple hours per sitting.

Every three minutes of online play end up being the best 3 minutes of my life, win or lose. However, there are problems outside of the core gameplay. The matchmaking system doesn't balance teams well, I've fought against a team of all level 20 players with a team where I was the only player above level 5. Needless to say, it was not pretty at the end. This game is also rather light on content mapwise. Right now there are only 7 maps and you only get to play two of them at a time in regular matches, since they swap out every 5 hours. If EA or Activision released a multiplayer game with only 5 maps at launch, there would be a great gnashing of teeth. Other than these two issues, this is the first online multiplayer game I've enjoyed, and I'd recommend picking it up.

Highly recommended for players of all ages. Online connectivity is required to get the full enjoyment out of the game. Fast paced gameplay with rounds that end quickly. Different weapon classes accommodate for different play styles. Map rotation changing every four hours may force you to switch up your weapon/gear. Customization through clothing. There is a short solo mode. Amiibos add bonus levels and gear. Overall the best new thing Nintendo has come up with since Pikmin.

This is a great game for any age, my son played the demos from Nintendo Direct and go the game the day it came out. Its fun for any age and really shows of some of the untapped potential of the Wii U.

I've had my fair share of online shooters but by far this game is the most unique and fun experience I've ever had in gaming. It's really no wonder as to why this is one of the Wii U's achievements this year. Instead of winning by killing the most players, victory is achieved if your team manages to cover up the majority of the map with your color of ink. If that isn't a unique concept than I really don't know what is.

Listen, I'm an adult and I'd rather play this than Call of Duty. It's inventive, has lush and colorful visuals, and it's original. The online multiplayer isn't just the best that I've experienced on Wii U, it's the best I've experienced this console generation thus far. There's also a fun solo campaign to play through if you're not an online gamer. Overall, a great new property for Nintendo.

Splatoon is just something magical, they took the rather mundane and over used idea of a 3rd person shooter and added their own spin to it! Instead of bullets, everyone fires ink. Games are based on the area you control of the map, marked by your ink, over how many kills you got. The entire game has an amazing aesthetic and kinetic game play. If you own a Wii U, you have to own this game!

Well, I shouldn't say "us," as I do enjoy shooters with more adult content, but this is definitely a shooter for everyone. The core gameplay is immensely satisfying, and before you know it, hours will have gone by. I could gripe about the lack of playable maps at any given time, or some clunky interface decisions, but on the whole, this game is just fun, plain and simple.

This is a great game! I'm not a big fan of console-based shooter games, but Splatoon is not like an ordinary shooter game; instead you use a variety of ink-based weapons. Some of the creative weapons include the roller, an ink-based gatling gun, and a weapon inspired by a washing machine. There's also a variety of stages as well. I would recommend this game!

Nintendo's take a shooter turns out to be great. It has single player mode, and online multiplayer. They released tons of content over type keeping things fresh. The gameplay feels new and unique, and is a lot of fun to play.

This is a fun game. My 3yr old loves all the colors and how the game plays. If you have a wii u and looking to buy a family game, this should be one of the prime candidate besides your mario games and smash. There is online aspect too, so you can play with others online. It is a shooter if that is your things. Have some fun.

If you looking for a non violent, fast paced, multiplayer, NEW kind of game, a THIS IS IT! I bought a Wii U JUST for this game and it is with it. The controls are VERY hard at first. I'm usually very good at aiming games. Took about 48 game play hours before I felt comfortable with it, but this game it's fun.

Nintendo has done it again with this original, friendly shooter. Great team action and fun graphics. Wii U is an underrated machine and this is another great title for the lineup

I'm a grown man playing what most people would classify as a kids only game, but I'm telling you right now that this game will provide anybody with tons of video game enjoyment. This might be my favorite game purchase of the year. Characters are cute and colors are cool.

Hopefully you don't become a squid because then you won't be able to play this game. A surprise hit of this year that can only be made better if voice chat was an option. WIth free dlc left and right until January 2016 get ready to get a lot of content out the box.
