This game is one of the most entertaining games I've ever played. My one criticism is that you aren't gaurenteed that you will be in a game with your friends.

Even though the only premise is to cover as much as you can with ink, it's still fun to try. When my husband wanted to get it I was like, seriously? But I gave it a shot and I'm not hooked, but it's fun to use to get out your aggression on.

I've grown up playing first person shooter games, and Nintendo has taken that genre and made it fun again. I initially thought this game would be Nintendo's "dumbed down" version of a shooter, but they added so many concepts to the well-known genre that it's a fresh new game style. With the purpose focused on "inking" more ground than the other team, and the ability to turn into a squid and swim in the ink, the game is a fun entertaining twist on the genre. It's a fantastic game, and I can't wait for more game types and other stuff Nintendo is releasing to the game (for free).

Splatoon is a simple game to play and understand...but it's hard to master. It's a no-frills shooter that's good for kids and adults alike. A great purchase!

Requires some tricky work on the internet connection, but it's more an issue with the Wii U system, not the game. The game is pretty good, simple and fun.

I'm not a fan of shooters but Splatoon is pretty great, the gameplay is fast-paced and dynamic. It's not perfect but I find myself saying "just one more game" playing online and end up wasting another few hours... all the time. Help

If you like shooting games, you will love this. If you like to compete with people online, you will love this. If you like to have fun, you will love this.

Such a quirky entry for Nintendo into the shooter world. Excellent controls, and they have done an impressive job providing regular map and weapon updates.

Nice playful fun. Easy enough for newbies and challenging enough for seasoned players. Splatoon proves again that Nintendo knows how to make great games

As a Nintendo fan I went in to this game expecting great things, and I was not disappointed. It's a great game that can be played by people of all ages.

I really enjoyed playing Splatoon. It is fast paced and fun while also providing a new original take on the third person shooter genre. Highly recommended.

This game is very addicting to play. It is a fun game for everyone. Very fresh new IP from Nintendo. Unique charcters, play style, and soundtracks. The only problems are that it lacks online map and modes. The story mode was pretty short in my opinion. But the good thing is that they do free DLC contentent and they are planning some payed DLC content in the future. They already added the legendary NES zapper gun and two maps for free as of 6/8/15. Stay Fresh!

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my grandson. He loves it. Plays with his cousin. Easy to learn. I tried it and I was able to keep up with the game.

I swear that his is the best game on WiiU. No kidding! Splatoon made me fell in love with shooter games again!!! Already spent over 500 hours in it...

I like it! It's very cute and fresh, and overflowing with Nintendo charm. Short matches keep things fun and fast-paced. I only had a little trouble getting used to the gyroscope controls, but they felt very natural after a short while.

This game is so much fun! It's definitely changed the 3rd person shooter genre, for the better. Worth a try, you might get as addicted as my gf and I are!

Wonderful game for kids. My only gripe is that lack of voice chat, but being that the game caters to younger gamers, I think this is actually a positive.

Per my daughter it is her new favorite game. It is nice to see a fun game with no blood, guts or killing!

Its a real fun, simple, and action packed game for the younger kids who want the feel of Call of Duty but parents down want them into that violence.
