My daughter loves this game. It is good clean fun for everyone. There is shooting in the game but you are just shooting paint to cover areas against the other team. The motion tracking the game sues is very smart and moves with you very well. I would recommend this for anyone with kids that love games and are advanced enough to use the motion controls.

Nintendo doesn't often create new intellectual properties, usually relying on the tried and true (Mario, Zelda, etc.), so this is a breath of fresh air. The game is up to Nintendo's usual high standards and is incredibly fun to play. I little light on content at launch, but that will change in time with new DLC. The WiiU is starting to shine lately, and this game is helping to keep it afloat. Nintendo always knows how to create games that are just a joy to play and leave you smiling all the time.

I rated this as 4*. Don't get me wrong, it's an absolute blast! I'm an adult that enjoys it, but I really bought it for my two children who also really enjoy it. It's a great FPS for kids (or busy adults without a lot of time to put into a game) -- the only reason I am giving it 4* instead of 5*, is due to (a) not being able to play multi-local player online (when doing online play only ONE person from a given console can be playing), and (b) being FORCED to use the Wii U gamepad as player 1.

I bought this game for my young daughter and she LOVES it, I was also intrigued by the gameplay and joined in on the fun. Definitely one of the best video games I have played this year. I usually game on other systems, but this game is so fun and addicting I've been playing it non stop as well. I would recommend this to any and everyone, AMAZING game!

This game is very different with all other games very enjoyable

Splatoon is nintendos approach towards making a shooter. The Paintball style 3rd person shooter allows players to experience a different kind of shooter while still keeping the game relatively family friendly. The campaign is short but fun for its length. Multiplayer is a bit unbalance with higher level characters maintaining better weaponry and perks
