Great fun for the family

They love getting matched up with other people and then going out and non-violently shooting them up with the ink. It was not hard for them to figure out how to play it. The only downside that I see to Splatoon is that you can (as far as I can see) only play one person at a time because you must use the GamePad.

Lots of Fun, although Limited

The singleplayer story led by old Cap'n Cuttlefish lasts a few hours and shows-off most weapons, from blasters to rifles to a giant noise laser - all using ink, of course. These weapons and more are used in multiplayer, which has bite-sized matches in only two arenas at any given time. It's as deep as a harbor rather than the sea, but the ink-spraying and everything look good and give this game lasting charm.
