If you're looking for a game that doesn't maintain the arcane complexities of Smash Brothers but retains the fun competitiveness of Nintendo's brawler. A fun and competent online shooter, if you own a Wii U, Splatoon is another Nintendo must-own.

I had heard great things about this game, and I bought it on a whim because of a deal. Great vibes, fun aesthetic, it's one of those "oh, just one more round" kinda game. Recommended, even if you aren't into the competitive online shooter scene.

this is a good new game for kids that I don't have to worry about

A lot of fun from the beginning. The online focus is different for Nintendo, but I think they pulled it off pretty well. I've noticed a lot less lag compared to Smash, or even Mario Kart. I enjoyed singleplayer, though it's not as great as online.

A lot of fun to play and Nintendo has added enough stuff in the last few weeks to make it even better than what has been reviewed in the past. The action is fast and furious when competing with teams online. Hard to not like once you've tried it.

Not the blood and gore which is good. Fun for my son and myself

I had purchased this for my son and he loved it. It was a nice change from him trying to play games that were a little more advanced and maybe above his age level. While he does play games like COD and Battlefield, he usually gets mad when the hardcore players take him out every 2 seconds. It's a pretty odd game but its a good one for younger kids.

Walked up to best buy 2 min before they closed and i was trying to buy the game for my son last minute for his birthday and the manager let me in so i could make the purchase even though everyone was ready to close. I really appreciated that.

This game has exceeded my expectations. I was really excited about it before it came out and was NOT disappointed! It's highly addictive and the way Nintendo is continually releasing free content regularly keeps the players coming back for more.

Splatoon is a great time and a heck of a game, albeit an incomplete one. With that said, the game has nowhere to go but up with all the coming free DLC due out before fall. If you're not picky about the limited options for online play available now, get this game now. Its shortcomings does not ruin the integrity or the fun you'll have with Splatoon.

Fast pace action, great multiplayer fps quoit all the violence

It's a really fun gun in short bursts. The only thing I really miss about playing a game of this genre on a console rather than a PC is the fact that I couldn't use a mouse. :( The single player mode is more of a puzzle game than anything.

My 6 years old son loves this game...and to be honest me too!!!

Best game on the Wii U isn't saying much but I really hope this is a new franchise for Nintendo. Single play is a really solid Nintendo style adventure game, online is fun with a good progression and regular updates, and it's just a fun game.

What can I say that hasn't been said about Splatoon? I will say that this is an incredibly fun game, especially in the frenetic multiplayer mode. Although the stages do get a bit repetitive, like Goldeneye, you'll want to keep coming back.
