However, I desperately needed a card reader that would read cards with chips & this one does it perfectly. I’ll upgrade eventually to the dock for the reader & for the iPad- having a a pos station makes doing my vendor events way less stressful!

Square knocked it out of the park with this unit, it was worth the wait. Reliable, long lasting battery, very convenient, and super fast. It also doesn't make that annoying awful beep!

I would recommend buying the dock with this if you're using it at a store, or keep it out on a desk or something. Best Buy has it at the best price, and is even cheaper than ordering it through Square.

We used the square reader for our business, a customer tried to scam us and wrongfully disputed a charge for a very large amount a couple weeks after processing the payment and square instantly sided with the person who disputed, and took the money from our account x2 (to pay the person back and cover any additional charges). What a horrible policy. So easy to get scammed. If you process someone’s payment, all the customer has to do is file a dispute (wrongfully) and they will get all their money back at your expense. It a HUGE vulnerability in the system. After trying to deal the matter, square blocked our number and dropped our calls!!

Had to wait 10 days for square to verify bank account while they held the money. Refuse to release the money now. One excuse after another while my bills now go late. I do NOT recommend.
