A fun but limited Star Fox experience

Let me start by saying this is in so many respects the sequel that Star Fox 64 has been deserving. However, it also fall short in a few key areas. The controls and style all feel great, with plenty of material harkening back to the SNES and N64 days. It has some very great on-rails levels with a solid feel when piloting. However, I just wish there were more levels. In terms of the full levels where you actually feel like you are blasting over a substantial portion of a planet or through and extensive asteroid field, there are only a handful. Beyond that are more simple missions that feel rather confined. What exists is great and shouldn't be missed, but I also sense a missed opportunity.

This game is heavily based on the Star Fox 64 classic and is very enjoyable. The graphics are superb and there are some new surprising additions to the gameplay to keep things fun and interesting.

I thought that we were never going to get another Star Fox game, but here it is! It's not the greatest Star Fox out there, but it's decent. It forces you to play with the Wii U controller to aim the laser, while you drive with the Left Stick. The Right Stick controls the boost, brake, U turn and loops. To get a good shot, you have to view the Gamepad screen, which can be a little disconcerting. I would definitely recommend you to test this game out with a buddy before you decide on whether or not it's for you. It definitely needs some getting used to.

This game is good. Really good. It's fun, the story is good, but the controls are lackluster. After some time you do adjust to them, but standard controls rather than motion would be ideal.

Star Fox is a good game, however the controls are a little complicated. The graphics are OK and the game is not as long as I wished. The better experience is to play it with someone else.

    Beefed up original game

This game suffers from all Nintendo games - in 2016 as gaming's evolved, I like story, good dialogue, and cut scenes help: everything Nintendo games lack. Game play wise, it's both fun and can be challenging. Laid out just like the original but now with more vehicles and game play variety. I don't care for the use of gamepad, feels forced and not organic and there's no split screen multiplayer in the traditional sense- i.e. 2nd player controls another squad member. Instead you share control of the ship and essentially have two shooters.

This game was a great return to the stardom universe BUT the controls seem iffy. I do love it for nostalgia but it's curious to why there was so much emphases put on the Wii U game pad.

This game gets a lot of hate for the controls, it takes a long time to master them. Once you master the controls though, you will pretty much have seen everything this game has to offer.

The controls are a bit odd to get used to, but when you get them down they fit the game very well. Multiplayer is very awkward, so I'd recommend staying to the single player campaign.

If you have trouble patting your head and scratching your tummy, stay away from Star Fox Zero. But if you're not a neanderthal, you may actually enjoy this game to its full potential!

Let me start by saying I don't really enjoy playing games that put you in a plane but the old SNES games were unique and challenging. This Starfox has the same vibe as previous releases. It's what you wanted the franchise to be ( better graphics and gameplay) so if you can get it for a daily deal sale price then it's a good addition to your collection. Also includes a tower defense game on a separate disc. Enjoyable and could have been a $15 game in the DLC store.

This game has gotten a bad rap due to its control scheme. But don't buy into the bad press. It's a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, its second nature.

If you enjoyed either the snes or n64 Star Fox this is the game for you! Great action and an excellent throwback. Only problem would be iffy controls, still worthwhile though.

I love Star Fox and I hope Nintendo will eventually make the Star Fox game all the fans have been waiting for. This is fun in the meantime though. I have two complaints. The first is a BIG one. The motion controls are gimmicky at best and they make the game miserable to play at their worst. I wish they would have given an option to turn them off entirely. The second misstep is leaving out the local 4 player mode to test your skills against your friends. That was always one of my favorite parts of Star Fox 64.

The controls take some time to get used to, and while some innovation has been done in the vehicle modes and controls, not enough has been done to the overall gameplay.
