Rewarding experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controls in this one are interesting. I really liked it once I got a handle on them, but I would have prefered a more traditional game.

Fun Star Fox game, but beware controls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Star Fox games are normally pretty enjoyable. This one is, if you can get past the spotty controls. A good game for Wii U, but not a great one.

A great return to Star Fox's roots
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game brings you back to the golden days of star fox, but now adds a fresh new innovated control scheme that makes everything feel new again. There's multiple modes, and co-op play.

Ok game

Wonderful game with difficult controls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful game that calls back to the 64 era style of gameplay, which is hard to come by these days. If you can get around the gimmickey controls then i think you found yourself a gem!

Star Fox, more like Star Farce
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to put it right out front. This is a bad game. It's easy to say, but hard to swallow after you spent the money oh hope. The graphics and sound design are top notch, but what good is it when you spend the majority of the game fighting it's controls. I would return to the game if they patch in different controls, but I doubt they will. Just skip it.

flying high!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Starfox is great. If you love the original N64 title, this is an upgrade and the bonus game is great as well.

Don't listen to the haters.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Controls work perfectly. They are not traditional, but they are fun and work well. The game is longer than the usual Starfox game, and is a lot harder too. I really enjoyed this game.

The controls hamper the experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed by the game. The GamePad controls sounded great in theory but failed in execution. There was nothing wrong with the original SF64 & SF Assault flight controls to begin with. And this is coming from someone who loved Skyward Sword and Splatoon's motion controls! Whereas those games felt enhanced by the gyroscope, this one feels burdened, especially because of this reliance of the alternate cockpit view on the GamePad. It's too disorienting, which, coupled with the whole pressing Y to recenter your aim bit, made things harder than they needed to be. The final boss was so stupidly frustrating, all because of the controls and the incessant back and forth between the GamePad and the TV. And while I'm all for callbacks to previous games in the series, a lot of it felt too samey in its dialogue and plot. What about James McCloud's story? How about a new enemy? After SF64's 3DS release, there's no real reason to go back to the same tired plotline. And it's a shame because I adore Star Fox, and I still think the SNES game is the best one. And now I'm sad that because of the game's poor performance we're probably not going to see another one for yet another decade or so. Maybe PlatinumGames should've been given free reign on this one sans Nintendo's GamePad ideas. All I'm looking for in a Star Fox game is a fun new story, fun dialogue that only occasionally hearkens back to the previous games, new levels with amazing spectacles, and perhaps not so much new gameplay mechanics but new enemy types and challenges that keep you in the air and not on the ground (unless it's the Landmaster) or in a gyrowing.

Good game with a steep learning curve
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hated giving this game 2/5 stars because of the motion controls, but they really did hinder my enjoyment of the game. The learning curve to maintain control is very steep and by the time you get the hang of it, you're at the end of the game. Also the chicken-walker mode is still poorly implemented control-wise even once you get the hang of everything else. They really should have given a second thought to how the game controls.

"Decent"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: The game looks fantastic. I enjoyed the game and can say it is worth it if you are a starfox fan. The level design is imaginative and the vehicles are very fun to play. Cons: For children, the games mechanics are too rough to learn. I was really looking forward to the "platinum spunk" that platinum games usually have but none was present. The game literally takes under an hour or so to get to the end. The lack of rewards and levels are surprising. Lack of multiplayer is ridiculous because it would be fun to play.

Fun StarFox Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This does remind me of the N64 version but with better graphics. The controller does take some getting used to with its motion control but overall a fun game for all StarFox fans.
