If you are looking to get this game for your little one for Christmas, do your self a favor and don’t! All major characters from the movies are locked and will cost a small fortune to unlock them!

Underwhelming game. Just trying to cash grab on the starwars brand name alone. poor mechanics and lame gameplay. Oh, and the loot boxes? Worst part of the game. Don't buy this or support EA.

Battlefront II reinvents the wheel or the yoke...

Battlefront II reinvents the wheel or the yoke... placing the roll and pitch on separate sticks, inverting flight controls so pulling up pushes you down and assigning them in conjunction with yaw; interpreting childish flight mechanics that pretty much every video game title aces into a bizarre ballet of 'what is going on'.
The "solution' leading to more disappointment?: Diving into the menus you can switch the flight controls to 'legacy' (WHEN DID FLIGHT CONTROLS GO FROM LEGACY TO CONTEMPORARY?? WHAT IS THIS) -- even after that extremely nightmarish logic, the controls thereafter remained extremely finicky, putting myself as a flight sim veteran for over 20 years and a fighter ace from Battlefront and even Ace Combat into - how did this happen - who approved this - and why are they not fired for screwing up one of the most important flight schematics in the last thirty years of gaming with the name of Disney bearing down on them! TURNED OFF - so glad that I did not commit to a preorder; and I heard from my friends that this was one to avoid as they too experienced the pay to play nonsense.
There used to be a slight division between the empty and premium-filled Ubisoft titles of days past and EA's pop media pay to play the blockbuster; as far as I am concerned -- there is none at this point and EA is following the path of ubisoft delivering on empty promises and the original successes and desperate fanbases of titles going on two decades old.
A New Hope was released in 1977...2018 going onto almost half a century, and a publisher has yet to create a blockbuster title that combines all of the popular elements of Star Wars of lightsabers included with the incredibly driven success of its exciting and massive star fighter arena within a satisfying multiplayer experience. Not even Dice/Electronic Arts/Disney/LucasArts! Battlefront was a disappointment with a very shallow take on star fighters even as opposed to the history of battlefield games; the mod "Galactic Conquest' for Battlefield: 1942 on PC had more starfighter action in 2004. oh and better flight controls.

You will need to play the game for over 4,500 hours (that's over 6 months solid without sleep) or pay $2,100 to unlock the whole game.

EA treats their customers like trash. Each one of their games is broken at launch for about a decade now, and sadly this game is no exception. It is extremely buggy, server connection is terrible, and matchmaking lobbies are barren. It is a shame that such a beautiful game has been ruined by a wretched and greedy company such as EA.

Despite EA attempting to fix issues with this game last second; the campaign is underwhelming with a lackluster story and ending, the multiplayer feels empty in comparison to the original, and the unlock system is still in a terrible place. Don't waste your time or money on this

Just as everyone else had stated, this is a half-baked game that locks you from content unless you have lots of money to speed up the process.
