Garbage!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ugh, EA... you got me twice. As an adult who doesn't have time to devote to online play, I was hoping that EA learned from the outcry of other players like me and had an increased focus on offline, single-player play. Nope! If anything, the selection of modes is less than the the first EA Battlefront. It's either onslaught mode or team seat match, wow! No capture the flag, king of the hill, etc. you can't even play any space-based missions in single-player. Really? And to boot, there are only six relatively small maps to play on. Ugh, the game graphics and maps are beautiful and the campaign is great, albeit very short. Too bad, looks like the game had real potential if only EA listened to their fan base. It's really not that hard EA, you have the blueprints of what a great Star Wars shooter should be -- just look at the modes and gameplay from the OG Battlefront 2. Update the graphics and add updated characters, maps, weapons and you have a hit that your fans will love instead of loathe. I'm already bored of this game and move on to something else. Two stars for the campaign mode and graphics.

Good game but EA doesn't make it fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great improvements over the last game. Great graphics and game play but EA just doesn't make gaming a fun experience. Story mode is only a few hours long and the micro transactions in the game and player cards make it very confusing. That being said, it is a star wars game so hero mode is always fun.

Fun to play but includes gambling
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gameplay itself is fun, but the game is dragged down by a terrible progression system which incourages gambling through loot (aka gambling) boxes which you need to progress in the game.

Star Wars is awesome, EA ruined it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, the internet has covered the debacle with Battlefront 2. I bought the game anyway because I love Star Wars and I wasn’t that afraid of the loot system. The issue is how empty the game feels. It doesn’t support team play very much, spawning you into random teams with little to work with beyond that. The theme is fantastic, and the gameplay itself is excellent, but it’s lacking what makes it a good multiplayer experience. I would buy it again just because I love Star Wars so much, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone otherwise.

Not worth getting.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The worst progression system I’ve ever seen in a multiplayer game. The most beautiful graphics in a game but it is so unpolished. For an example when you run in the snow you don’t even leave foot prints! Make a game that’s worth getting before you think about adding pay to win micro transactions. The only thing I like about it is that it’s nostalgic and brings me back to my childhood. I know this mini review was all over the place but I was just listing off what was at the top of my head.

Looks Great, BUT Multiplayer Progression BAD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Man, this had promise. I saw the initial reviews about the progression system being bad, and then waited for a price drop after a couple months. Well, the price drop came, but the advancement in the progression didn't. The game looks great, but once you get past the campaign, the multiplayer is all you have left. The load time between games is CRAZY! I shouldn't be waiting 2 minutes for a game to load and play online. If you want to have your favorite load out improved, well good luck. The unlocking of improved weapons is a gamble you won't win. The 40 hours to unlock a main character was talked about, and that is real. You actually have to be pretty good to get enough points to get the character unlocked. I have had the game not even give me credits after a game. That sucks. Fun to play, but not enjoyable to keep at it. I will update sometime later if a patch actually fixes the progression system.

Not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Star Wars and it’s doesnt play terrible as a game but it just wasn’t what I wanted as a Star Wars fan not to mention not a fan of pay to win but if you play with friends it can be fun and the story isn’t bad but wasn’t enough my honest review as it’s ok at best and that’s being nice one of my mains beefs is I can pick the era I wanna play in online or the map stuff like that etc you get my point

A lot of in game transactions.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Campaign is very short, multiplayer loading times are longer than other similar games. Unlocking weapons takes a very long time. Unlocking abilities is only able to be done through pack bought with in game currency or crafting points gained from packs or a small amount earned through achievements. It is still playable and fun. The graphics are really good and the game play is pretty good.

Eh...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game is so hollow. Gameplay and controls are so stiff. I wanna like it because it’s Star Wars but I really don’t. Nevermind that you can pay to earn upgrades. Wait and it’ll be $20 bucks before you know it.

Alright game except for the progression system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't think the loot box issue would matter much at first, but you can definitely feel it impact the progression system in the game. Not worth the full price given all the micro transactions.

Good game brought down by EA's greed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When you face people who have better Star Cards than you, you will feel the difference and it's a shame. If this game didn't have that awful P2W system, it would be a great game.

Played for the single player, dissappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put, if you are playing this game for the single player, I would skip it. Some of the flying, Rogue Squadron like areas are fun, but it never really feels like you are dogfighting anything, just flying around destroying your targets. The FPS/TPS levels are unfortunately boring, with little excitement, variation, or showpieces to make it interesting. Narratively, they quickly abandon the “play on the side of the Empire” hook that interested me. While there are a couple of interesting plot points, overall it’s forgettable.

Fun Gameplay But Awful Progression
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The core gameplay is fun, but it will take you hours upon hours to unlock all the characters and guns. Hard pass.

Underwhelmed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the game with reservations after reseaching it as my son really wanted it. Well the reviewers were right. Fighter play is only online in multiplayer and we can't battle each other anymore in space. We really wanted to do like we have in the first game which is battle each other in split screen. Graphics are OK but seems like they tried to fit too much into the game. Don't need all the story lines...just get to the game.

The whole microtransaction thing ruined the game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battleground 2 is more of the same from DICE's first Battlefront title, so the sound quality and visuals are very authentic to Star Wars. Unfortunately, including a hokey story mode doesn't help the main draw of the multiplayer, whose unlock system is built around micro payments. Ea has since temporarily pulled the ability to buy the paid currency, and "balanced" unlocks, but in practice its entirely ineffective.
