This is the Star Wars game we have been waiting for. The story and characters are fantastic and is in the upper echelon of Star Wars storytelling. Unfortunately, there are a plethora of bugs and gameplay problems that hamper the entire experience. It's still worth experiencing though.

I've played a good chunk of Star Wars games, at least 15 or more I'd imagine, and this is one of the best. It's directed by a veteran of the God of War franchise, which is one of my favorite action series of all time, and it's taken more than a few cues from the popular (and difficult!) Souls (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne) series. It's wrapped up in a fun side story that has a lot of fun winks for fans of the prequels and the animated Clone Wars TV show. That said I think the main story isn't incredible, and didn't really hook me as much as lot of my friends and online reviews, it also has a nasty difficulty spike about 3/4 of the way through, but overall it's an incredibly fun action adventure game that's a joy to explore and fight in.

EA has rightfully earned the ire of many gamers with their persistent "games as services" model and unending DLC content. This game is a refreshing breath of fresh air in that regard, with no DLC at all (save the optional deluxe edition upgrade), no stale multi-player, only a fun and engaging story-driven single player campaign with exciting and challenging gameplay. Highly recommended for fans of Star Wars or the Dark Souls series. For those who don't care for Dark Souls, try the lowest difficulty.

It's definitely dark souls for star Wars fans. A good time!
