I had to purchase this Blu Ray version to add it to our Star Wars collection. We've watched this movie at least a half dozen times after bringing it home. This is a must for anyone with a home theatre system. Great family movie for anyone who loves Stars Wars. Can't wait to see the next few movies.

With decades of saturation to the Star Wars legacy, it's characters and merchandise I was just hoping for an intelligent representation from Disney. I got that and more. They knew to take what worked in the previous films and go the next step. Awesome installment! Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

First of all, it's kind of hilarious to be writing a review on Star Wars the Force awakens film. It's hilarious because ITS FREAKIN STAR WARS!!!!! Of course it's awesome, of course it's amaaaaazing, of course you should own it. Or better yet, but two, you know, in case you want to watch it again ;)

The main reason I wanted this deluxe set was to get the 3D disc, and it was worth the wait. Why on earth 3D TV never really caught on with the public I will never understand. To me it's the greatest thing. Anyway, this movie's a lot of fun, especially in 3D, so I'm definitely happy with it.

I think this has been the Star Wars movie that the fans have been waiting for. It fits very well with the rest of Star Wars movies. It was great to see the return of some of the original characters again. A great movie if you are a new fan and especially if you have been a fan since the beginning.

I am a big Star Wars fan & i love the movies so its only natural that I would buy this film. I did not get the opportunity to see this movie in the theaters. But once the steelbook went on sale I was so over this deal big time. If you love Star Wars then you need to get a copy of this blu-ray/dvd.

Wasn't sure how I'd feel with Disney taking over the making of Star Wars; however, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Some may dislike the movie because of the way it seems to mimic the original saga but I for one was not dissapointed at how the roots were adopted to allow the movie to evolve.

Every scene finds a way to take you back to the good ol' Star Wars days. J.J. Abrams was sure to capture the feel of the original trilogy. It gets off to a bit of a slow start, as if to introduce a whole new generation to the Star Wars universe, so bear with it. I can't wait for the rest of them.

I really liked this film although a few things in the story didn't make any sense at all. Good build up of the characters. They are very good to watch and root for. Brings back old characters from the classics as well. Builds up to see what happens. Only gripe is Disney keeps pushing back the reason why any one goes to see Star Wars in the first place!!! Light saber fights. And they always give stupid reasons why there aren't any more Jedi or Sith. Very limited on saver action so no 5 stars for me on this one.

This is a fun movie, and a welcome return to the spirit of the original trilogy. The blu-ray picture and sound quality are both very good, and the dvd and digital copy are nice additions. If you are a fan of the original Star Wars trilogy I would highly recommend adding this to your collection.

What can you really say about this that is bad? Its Episode 7 and it was done the right way! I Love this movie, and frankly the packaging is a non-issue for me, i only got the steel book because it was on sale. That said, it is a really cool package for the movie. I would recommend this to anyone.

I had the good fortune to be a kid in the 1070's and experienced first hand the Star Wars craze when it started, there was nothing like it, rope waited in lines and saw the original movie numerous examples times, the new movie does not disappoint and brings back that excitement I felt in the 70's

I grew up on the original Star Wars but I must say that they did a very good job with this story. It had everything you would want in a movie like this...... action, special effects and a story to go along with it. I also thought it was great that they put some things in from the original movies.

I waited for the 3D to come out. Didn't buy the first release. Had a feeling they where going to release this later on. I'm waiting for DeadPool to be released in 3D too. This movie is fantastic. Its a must watch and must own.

JJ Abrams has done what no one thought would ever happen, he brought back Star Wars to its roots! Unlike the prequels this truly feels like a film that belongs with the originally trilogy! The Last Jedi is almost here so I highly recommend buying this film before seeing it!!!!

It's Star Wars! Agree or disagree with some of the character/plot choices that were made, this is a great new addition to the Star Wars movies, and the start of an interesting new plot line. Includes both blu-Ray and DVD, no digital copy. Cool packaging: the steel book is a nice, well made box.

I have been watching the Star War franchise ever since they stated in 1977. The original three movies were so ahead of their time that most of the people that liked them went to the theaters and watched them mutiple times. However, this 7th's in the series lacked the chemistry between it's main characters that the first three movies had. It was not that the actors had poor acting skills but rather in the first 2/3rds of the movie the plotting was not good enough to keep me engaged enough to care about these characters or what was about to happen to them. The special effects were better than the original series due to advances in CG but that didn't make up for the lack of a good plot. It was not until the last 1/3rd of the movie that I started to get interested in the movie. Even though I know it was Harrison Ford's desire to have Han Solo killed off in the series, I and I believe most of the true old time fans of the series didn't llike one of our favorite characters of the series being killed off. This type of casting and scripting maybe popular and accepted in series like, "The Walking Dead" but to the true fan of "Star Wars" it doesn't set well. In fact most of us resent the fact that Harrison Ford has so little respect for the fans of the character that made him a super star that he didn't care what are reaction might be. He may have thought it was a great idea to kill Han's off but most of the older fans didn't and because of it it lowered the approval rating of this movie for most of those type fans. Well, at least that is my take on how most of the orginal fans of the "Star Wars" franchise felt about this movie.

SteelBook case has a minimalist (but refined) art-style and the discs are of superior quality, as is to be expected of a new Blu-Ray release. The addition of a digital HD copy of the film is a nice bonus, of course. If you have the opportunity to buy this version, you should not be disappointed!

It isn't a perfect movie, but it is one of the best films of 2015 and truly captures the magic of the original Star Wars while bringing something new to the franchise. If you love Star Wars it's a must buy and if you aren't into Star Wars it's a great film all on its own that could bring you in.

Let me begin by clarifying that I am NOT one anong the whordes of adoring Star Wars fans the world over. My parents took me to a drive-in movie theater to see the original way back when it was released and I fell asleep on it and struggled with the franchise for the next 30 years but after at least making peace with episodes IV, V & VI and simply deciding to place my memories of Episodes I, II & III into a tiny black safe in the far recesses of my mind, lock it, chain it up, lock that and then toss it into an amorphous cloud of... I dunno... dark, foreboding mist and haze... I have to confess that The Force Awakens has me genuinely interested in the future of this franchise. Though director J.J. Abrams is often criticized by "ze internet" and "ze fanboys" of simply re-hashing the plot of the original film(s) with this movie, I'm going to disagree with that. Sure, there are obvious similarities because essentially, Rey's story and Luke's story are the same type of story but, beyond that, I feel that this came off as purely Rey's own story. I found it VERY enjoyable and I feel that, though it was obviously meant to bring another generation of children to the franchise, it was still told with just enough complexity and darkness that the jaded old man in me was satisfied with it. I wasn't bowled over but, technically speaking, this was a good effort and deserving of some praise for what it accomplished for the future of the franchise, at the very least. It's a really good effort.
